We swung into the big sky bar on our way to deadwood from Billings. It's your standard kind of backwoods American bar. Passing through town for the evening BSB was conveniently located close to our lodge and there are not many choices in town. Hubby had the fried halibut with gems (disc shaped tater tots) and side salad and I had the Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Much to my surprise the chicken was really good. My husband reported liking his halibut and we both very much liked the gems. I could have eaten a basket all by myself. Service was good. We were greeted warmly when we arrived. Sierra, bartender, server, and other hats, was friendly, engaging, and kindly answered our questions. She made us feel welcomed. Stop by when In town. read more

My friend and i are driving across country and we needed some food between Yellowstone and devils tower and we happened to stumble upon this hidden gem. It felt like we were welcomed into someone's home.. bartenders were incredibly kind and welcoming. Food was homemade and so good! Also had a few good craft beers! Not at all friendly to non-locals. Went in there with my mom to get dinner, sat down, and never got waited on. Girls behind the bar just stood there talking to their regular customers. read more
