I still miss the steak!! We were on our way to Seattle and stopped for dinner -- and the steak was absolutely melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The live music and cozy atmosphere made it even better. The service was outstanding too -- they kindly asked me to wait a little, and they were so warm and respectful throughout. What a fantastic steak house! If you're making the trip between Rapid City, SD and Billings, MT it's well worth your time to take Hwy 212 instead of the interstate. Stop and eat at the Sportsman's Club in Broadus, MT- you won't be sorry. Two of us shared a steak and sides and were happily stuffed. It was the best steak I've had in years. The onion rings were really good, too. Be sure to take some homemade dessert with you for later! Quite a few tables with a great view to the grassland behind the restaurant. The man who served us had the best recommendations and was so friendly and accommodating. If I lived within a hundred miles of this place, I'd eat here often. read more

This place more than exceeded my expectations. A very busy place that was spotless and offered first cabin service. The Montana Burger was beyond amazing, with a pretzel bun, two onion rings, bacon, cheese and I'd say at least a half point of prime hamburger. The fries appeared homemade. We were driving through town and stopped to have dinner. The steaks were AMAZING! We ordered the prime rib and New York strip, they were perfectly cooked and melted in our mouths!! Sooo good! Thank you to Yelp and all the folks that posted their reviews. We were traveling to Yellowstone/Grand Tetons and we were getting very hungry and didn't know where we should eat. Checked out Yelp and found this hidden gem. Had the A-1 burger and the mushroom and Swiss. Both were awesome! The amount of fries and tater tots that come with the burgers are insane! Also had the chips and queso with brisket added and that too was really good. It's a nice touch that they served it with a bottle of their homemade ranch and bbq sauce. So glad we stopped and as others have commented, don't let the cover ruin the book. You will not be disappointed. read more

As mentioned in a previous review, we chose to stop in Broadus while in transit through the area. In looking for a place to eat, the choices were pretty limited, so we went to the Stockman's Club. And wow. There's a complete menu, we were offered the special of the day which happened to be prime rib. And...it was possibly the best prime rib I've ever had, perfectly done. The ambiance is...country, nothing fancy but the people were great, as was the service...and that prime rib! Definitely will go back there if we're through Broadus again, an amazing find in a very small town. read more

I did not read the reviews before stopping here, and I'm so glad I didn't. This was a great little cafe with western atmosphere and really good food. I had a P. R. Wrangler with fries and the flavor combination was tremendous. My friend had the steak strips, and they were also excellent. Had we not been traveling many more miles after supper, we likely would have kicked back in the bar for a bit before leaving. This is a great little family establishment with everything you need for a rest stop in southeastern Montana. read more

We stopped here on our way through town. Friendly staff. Decent variety on the menu. Quick service. Bar area was nice, with slot machines for fun. Powder River Stockman's Club is easily the best restaurant in the small passthrough town of Broadus, MT. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside the small restaurant is loaded with character. The bar area mirrors (no pun intended) that of an old western saloon, the seating area adjacent to the bar with local cattle brands all over the wooden wall, and with a TV on nearby to watch the latest news. In the room through the next door you can find more seating in the small casino area. Food: The food was surprisingly good! I cannot remember the name of the dish, but I had the pork chop sandwich with honey mustard, loaded with onion crisps. It was so good I couldn't put it down! A few minutes later and I was ready for dessert....anticlimactically the apple pie was one they pulled from the freezer and was not fresh made, but I almost expected it. No harm no foul. Service: Wow. The waitress did NOT want to be there that night! I could have cut the tension with a spoon. Still, she took pretty good care of us, albeit reluctantly. If passing through Broadus, I suggest stopping in - you'll at least find good, warm food. read more

Stopped in on our way from GA to WA. Atmosphere is cool and the service was good, but lots of flies and food is a little over priced for what you get. I got the P.R. Wrangler which is described as cubed seasoned steak, but it was a hamburger patty, with a bag of lays potato chips - $9. 12oz can of soda - $1.75 I am 5'1" 100 lbs and I ate everything very easily. My boyfriend got the Texas melt which is prime rib with melted cheese and onions and some kind of sauce with bag of Lay's -$8. Really good but he was still very hungry after. Not a bad place with decent food but if I passed the place again, I wouldn't stop. read more

As US Hwy 212 bends north into Broadus, Montana, keep an eye out on the west side of the road for some of the nicest steakhouse accommodations you'll see for miles. Just inside the southern edge of town, the Powder River Stockman's Club is serving up some of the finest steaks, fries and ice cold beer in the area. The barroom dining area has a nice atmosphere, with a lot of barn wood and nice tables and booths. The little dining room in the back is a little more like most of the diners in the west (furniture from the late '70's, lots of Formica). A little pricier than some other places you find in even smaller towns like Ekalaka, but definitely worth a stop if you're passing through. read more

I read reviews but we stopped anyway. Didn't think you could go wrong ordering BLT but I was wrong dry cold toast with 2 strips bacon,green tomato and no mayo. Given that this was the only establishment serving food the day we were in town, we stopped in. Wished we hadn't. Some poor cowboy is missing a piece of his saddle, because it appeared in my companion's Reuben sandwich masquerading as corned beef. My sandwich was misaligned on the bread, so half of it fell apart when I tried to eat it. Yes, chips still are still a bag from the grocery store.
