As stated by another reviewer, don't judge the book by the cover. Sat in the parking lot for a couple of minutes to read some reviews due to the 4.5 stars. So we parked and went in. Pleasantly surprised by the friendly greeting. Sat down and was visited by our server in less than a minute. Decent menu selections for lunch and dinner. Ordered appetizers and sandwich. Bacon wrapped shrimp skewer appetizer was delicious. Lunch was definitely worth the price. Large servings and tastes great. Service was relatively normal speed but very attentive and polite. Was happy we actually came in and had a great meal. Was only going to give 4 stars because initially thought the place needed to be updated a bit, but while sitting and looking around, everything was perfect for a quick and great meal. Impromptu lunch stop on the way from Rochester to Elmira. The boss chose this spot. Unassuming exterior that one might just keep on driving by. Inside is warm and welcoming, plenty of animal mounts, and very friendly staff. We sat in the restaurant portion in the back. Soups / chili were excellent. I had the French Onion. First timers on a recent Saturday night. There were still quite a few people when we got there but we were seated right away. The waitress came by and said she would be right with us and was back in a couple minutes. While waiting, we looked around and noticed that the dining area appeared to have been recently remodeled and was quite cozy and very clean. Not to deter from the good, but the lighting in the dining room could have been dimmed a little. No issue though. The waitress then took our drink order and warned us that they had an exceptionally busy evening and that some of the items sold out but they had added some items not normally available to make up. We placed our order and had our food quickly. It came out nice and hot and was absolutely delicious and plentiful. This is definitely a return stop for us! read more

That restaurant is in odd place!! Its weird to see restaurant surrounding around of houses. First time to eat there, host is super friendly & looks cozy inside to eat. Waitress is really super friendly and easy-going. Ordered food (price is reasonable/affordable) & wait time is pretty reasonable. During wait time, I took my time to curious see around and it is interesting! Wow. Bar, restaurant, and bunch of taxidermy animals. We started with the fried cheese curds which I have been trying to find good ones for years and there were so good the only problem was the crock they came in was too small I wanted more. I had the pot roast grilled sandwich that was delicious and my husband had the Fritz burger but Memphis style which he said was a really good burger. I placed my order around 1300 Sunday afternoon, but was told my delivery would not be until 1730, I understood and was OK. Anticipating the arrival, the food was delivered 10 mins early, driver was awesome and even threw in extra utensils, knowing us truckers usually need them. I ordered the Dakota burger(a simple burger, but that's what I wanted) and also the lodge platter. The Burger was cooked PERFECTLY and tasted AMAZING. There was way too much food for me to eat, the rest will be going on the road with me. My only regret was not visiting this restaurant, but when I'm back. I WILL!!! They get 5 stars just based off what else is in this town, this place is hands down the best place in this town! Good appetizers, soups, salads, then for entrees they have a little of everything steaks, pasta, fish, seafood, pizza etc.... and from what I've heard it's all really really good, I know the Ribs and mashed potatoes were great, I tried some of Tony's Steak and it was cooked to perfection so so good! My wife and I went here for date night. We had been running out of good places to eat, between where we live in Hornell, and Dansville. Took a chance on this place. The dining room looks like its out of the 60's, however it is very clean and bright. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My wife and I each ordered the fish fry with coleslaw. She got a side salad, with the most amazing home made blue cheese dressing. Best fish fry I have had in a very long time! We will be making it a point to return! read more

Was looking for a place near our camp since we are from rochester and figured we'd try this place out and boy do we not regret it. I personally ordered the steak quesadilla's and there was just the right amount of hotness and my steak was cooked to perfection. My dad got the Dakota burger and that as well was cooked to perfection. As goes the staff and the over all place they were very friendly was one a little over the top but it was very welcoming . First off if you aren't familiar with the area this place might not be the easiest place in the world to find, if you put the address into gps you will wind up at a gate outside the airport. I don't know the actual address but if you take the road behind the mobile it's down at the end of the road on the left hand side. This is a very unassuming place, if it was on diners, drive ins and dives it might be seen as more of a dive. The outside doesn't look great but the inside is very nice and there are two sections, the bar and the dining room, the bar has limited seating but some cool mounted animals. Service is very good, the waitress we had was attentive and she was on top of the water filling, which is very important. She was not pushy and had a great personality. The food is very good at this restaurant. My date had a casadia and I had an oriental chicken wrap, the menu is so big that it was sort of my third choice but I didn't want to take too much time and just ordered that, I was glad I did. The chicken was well fried and not greasy, the sauce was pretty good and the wrap, well standard was delicious. My date really enjoyed her food also and said it had a nice kick to it, it was filled with chicken and veggies and jalapenos. My fries were a little over fried for what i'm used too but they were still pretty tasty. All in all the food was very good and i'm looking forward to trying different things, hopefully their chicken Marsala is as good as it looks. If you are in the area and want a restaurant that is affordable, delicious and relaxing you won't do much better than this restaurant. read more
