As someone who has competed in powerlifting and strongly believes in the Loma Linda lifestyle philosophy, this place the perfect fit. The Life Fitness and Hammer Strength equipment are also excellent and incredibly well maintained. I've lifted at dozens, if not well over a hundred gyms throughout my life, and yet this gym holds such a warm and special place in my heart. Ignore the negative reviews; in my experience, many come from people who never truly integrated into the community that makes this place so unique. I'm leaving soon for the next stage of my medical training, and I'd be lying if I said I won't deeply miss this place. In my confirmation email, the only instruction was to bring my ID, which I reasonably assumed was for identity verification or account setup. However, when I arrived, the front desk associate (Viviana) asked about the address on my ID and, after I explained that I had just moved, told me I would need to go to a different location based on the address listed. I want to be clear--I completely understand if there is a policy requiring proof of local residency for a free trial. That's not the issue. The issue is that this requirement was not communicated beforehand, and more importantly, the way it was handled in person was extremely unprofessional. Viviana had a noticeably dismissive and unfriendly attitude from the start. When I tried to clarify my situation, she spoke over me and did not make any effort to provide clear or respectful communication. After going back and forth, she eventually offered to check with a manager. I agreed and asked her to do so, and when she returned, she said I could work out for the day--but the delivery still felt cold and unwelcoming. I also requested a tour, which she provided very briefly and with minimal effort. She pointed vaguely at different areas without explanation, and I ultimately had to walk the facility on my own to understand what was available. It's unfortunate because the gym itself is great and the other staff members I encountered were kind and welcoming. I still plan on joining because of the location and amenities, but this experience nearly cost you a new member. As a business owner with over 10 years in customer service, I know how much front desk interactions matter--they set the tone for the entire brand. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, because the service I received from Viviana does not reflect the quality of the facility.

The atmosphere is thriving, the interior is always clean and the staff members are very kind and professional. They also have experienced athletic trainers and current professional ball players at the facility who sharing the knowledge and give back to the kids! He's very patient and friendly, and is very knowledgeable about many different forms of fitness. I primarily power lift, but he's been supportive and instructive on my ventures into body building and weight loss as well. He's really flexible with his hours, so it's never an issue scheduling a session. I mostly go in the evenings and its never crowded nor do I have to wait for a machine or equipment in the Training room. I have to give Oscar, Personal Trainer, a big shout out. His knowledge and patience taught me numerous and new methods of getting to know my body despite my many years of working out decades ago and dealing with my Cervical Spinal Cord surgery in 2016.
