The process was seamless and I really appreciated the time Hailey took to explain things to me, let me try the things I needed to try, really get to know me and then got me into my new CR-V. The finance team, however, was my point of contention. Natali was my original finance partner, who initially got me started with the process, my credit application approved, and all that. But the next day I received a call from another finance partner (Brian) who tells me Natali quit the night I signed all my deals (which was a lie), and that my deal was no longer valid and I would have to resign at a higher rate and price. Even though I had signed contracts in place, they would not honor them. Unacceptable. Could have been a 5-star experience if not for that. The remodel of Big Star did you all well! So glad that I chose to drop my car off, and was able to go to work. I am impressed with the new system of utilizing Uber. So they send you a link to your phone and it books the ride for you. You are linked to a map with the driver details. You receive a link when you are ready to pick up your car. When I dropped off my vehicle they had the cars in and out...no games. They have a waiting area with a coffee and cappuccino machine/water and muffins of your choice. Several television screens are available. The service was superb from start to finish. I love the multi point inspection that comes with my oil change. They also washed my car!!!! I have an Acura and I would rather come here for service. I will definitely be back for all future oil changes. They did not pressure me for any recommended services. read more

I did view another vehicle similar to the one I had originally inquired about, they pull it up and the car is missing pieces, dirty, and the engine was shaking. On May 9, 2026, around 9 a.m., I visited Big Star Honda to inquire about a damaged 2025 Honda Accord Hybrid with 15k miles. I was working with Alex that's from Galveston Texas and came prepared with a check, ready to negotiate a deal. However, management told me multiple times that negotiating the price or fees was "impossible" because the dealership is firm on pricing. At one point, I stepped outside to grab my charger from my car and returned less than two minutes later to find another customer sitting at the desk. I was under the impression Alex was looking for vehicles within my budget, but instead I was simply told, "We'll send you links to cars you can afford." To this day, I've never received anything. Overall, I felt the situation was handled unprofessionally, and because of that, Big Star Honda will not receive my business in the future. The same day, I went to Honda Clear Lake and was able to purchase a brand-new 2026 Honda Accord with 0 miles. After months of trying to get an appt with Honda of Clear Lake for a recall on my vehicle, I finally wized up and gave Big Star a call. After just a few rings a friendly guy answered the phone and helped me out. He put me on hold at one point, never came back but then another gentleman, Russ/Ross answered and got me squared away. R advised that the first guy was from the call center and probably just put me directly in touch with the dealership. He let me know they'd get me in and out the same day and would put me in an Uber to and from the dealership so I wouldn't have to wait around onsite. I brought my car in the following Saturday. Upon arrival it was a little confusing and hard to tell which service rep was available to help you and they made no attempt to tell u if they were free. After standing there a while confused, I stepped up to Gerson Barahona's desk and told him why I was there. He was polite, went over what they were gonna do, gave me a timeframe, and ordered my Uber. He sent me a link to the Uber and I was able to track it with my phone. The Uber pulled up about 5 min later and drove me home. I was home for maybe an hour or 2 when Gerson texted me to see if he could send an Uber back to pick me up bc my car was ready. When I returned Gerson wasn't available but another service advisor quickly gave me my keys and sent me on my way. I went here a couple months ago on June 5 to look at a 2025 Honda Odyssey and they tried to bait and switch me. They lured me in by telling me one thing on the phone and then even admitting that they'll tell customers one thing on the phone to get them in. I even called the person who was messaging with me out on it. He was with a customer so I got put with someone else. The initial price they gave me was $5000 more than what we talked about on the phone. When we were negotiating, as I was walking away, they magically could drop the price $4000 after saying they can't do anything. After everything was said and done, we couldn't agree by $1000 and they called me ridiculous for thinking I could get an 2025 Odyssey EX-L under $44,500. Not so ridiculous after all since I got a better deal elsewhere. I used to be a very loyal service customer here but after this experience, I'm going elsewhere. I purchased my 2020 Honda Accord brand new from Big Star Honda in Houston, TX, believing Honda's reputation for reliability. Fast forward just 4 years and 95,000 miles, my engine completely fails due to what I later discovered is a common issue with this model--a poorly designed head gasket that allows coolant to leak into the cylinders. This caused the engine to overheat and warp the engine block. Big Star Honda and Honda denied all responsibility. I ended up paying $4,000 out-of-pocket for a new engine on a car that should have had many more years of life. I was assigned a service advisor named Gerson, who had horrible communication throughout the process. I told him multiple times that I work until 5PM and could only return the loaner car after that. Despite this, he left for the day when I drove nearly an hour after work to pick up my car. Totally unprofessional. It gets worse. The very next day after getting my car back, all the warning lights came on again. I brought it back and now the diagnosis was turbo failure due to overheating--yet again, they took no accountability. So now my "fixed" vehicle was back in the shop again. To make matters worse, the only time I ever got an oil change done at this dealership, the technician failed to properly tighten the oil drain plug. Oil spilled everywhere, and I was left stranded on the side of the road. After that, I went to Valvoline for oil changes--like any reasonable person would. I filed a complaint with Honda Corporate and it took them over a month to get back to me. I left 11 voicemails and sent multiple emails before the case manager, Yvette, finally responded. And her reason for denying goodwill assistance? "Lack of loyalty" to Honda because I didn't return to Big Star Honda after their own negligence? That's a slap in the face. Here are the questions I asked that no one could answer: How does an engine fail so prematurely in a car marketed as "reliable"? What assurances do I have that the replacement engine won't fail at another 95K miles? Why should I be responsible for a repair so massive on a car that should still be running strong? What is Honda doing to prevent this from happening to other customers? No answers. No accountability. Just blame-shifting and silence. This whole experience has been a complete nightmare. I'll never buy another Honda again. Big Star Honda is the WORST dealership I've ever dealt with. If you're reading this, do yourself a favor: go anywhere else. Avoid Honda vehicles and Big Star Honda or you mat find yourself writing as oppose to reading reviews!! Honda of America is Unresponsive to a warranty fix related to Class Action Lawsuit for my vehicle. I am greatly disappointed and wish I could give American Honda and this dealership zero stars. They don't deserve a single star because they don't stand behind their product. Honda has continued to produce the Honda Odessey and other makes/models with defects that cause the piston rings to rotate and align which leads to spark plug fouling and engine misfiring. The exact problem that Big Star diagnosed on my vehicle. A successful class action lawsuit was won against Honda but I was told Honda didn't issue a recall which has left millions of loyal customers in the cold with the piston ring defect. American Honda extended the warranty to include my model year, yet they have selectively excluded certain VIN numbers. This horrible problem warranted a recall. As elderly people we don't drive a lot. Now that our Odessey has been driven more due to family illness the misfires have shown up. I'm not sure what Big Star did or didn't do following their analysis, but the vehicle hasn't been drivable since! I'm afraid of what may not have been put back together before they had me drive it home. American Honda did not even respond to the BBB complaint we filed against them (see below). It will now become my mission to warn consumers on social media and through every way possible that Honda doesn't stand behind their vehicles and to avoid them or pay the cost. We are told this could be a $5000+ repair on a car with less than 147K miles. Big Star offered only about 10% off of this massive repair bill for a known problem. Benjamin Lutz was my advisor. I arrived to pick up my vehicle and stood right in front of his desk by the window waiting for him to help me. He was with a customer when I first arrived. He walked away to help the customer then came back and continued on his computer. There was an Asian advisor there on his phone with no customers, last name Pham, the entire time that I was there. No one acknowledged me whatsoever until I said if any one was planning on helping me. Another advisor that just finished with a customer ended up helping me after I said that. Thank you to him. I stood there for about 20 minutes. Ridiculous. I felt absolutely disrespected. A male customer came in minutes after me and he got attended. I wanted to give them the courtesy of finishing up their work before interrupting them with my service but I didn't receive that courtesy back and I don't appreciate that. I received a pre approval from Capital One for a car purchase from this dealer. They called me and I went out to look and teat drive the car. I explained everything to them before going there from A-Z. The salesman oh that's not a problem. I get there and was told that I would have to do a trade or put money down. I didn't have money to put down and I owed too much on my car to trade. So they ask for a co-signer and when that didn't work you could see the change in the treatment I received. Buyers - please be aware!! This dealership is untrustworthy and doesn't stand behind it's sales. I purchased a 2020 Honda Civic Sport from Big Star Honda on April 14, 2025. Initially, I wasn't going to get a warranty or it Certified but did so after talking to the finance department. This increased my finance cost. It took two days for the car to be ready for certification. When we picked it up, we drove off the lot and noticed the passenger side mirror didn't work. We brought it back and were told to come back to schedule it for service. We drove back and the service department looked at it. They told us the part had to be ordered and they would contact us when it was ready. A week later, I returned to get it fixed. Around that time, I noticed one of the fog lights didn't work. I contacted my mechanic because the car was purchased "as-is". My mechanic said that it had only been a couple of weeks and that the dealership should replace it as a courtesy "as-is" or not. Plus, if the car was inspected as part of the certification, that should have been detected. I texted my salesman Brandon who responded and said he "didn't see why not when can you bring it by to service?". I told him I would get it fixed when I picked up the license and tags. On 06/13 the paper plates were about to expire. On 06/14, I called the dealership. The receptionist told me the plates weren't requested until 06/02. I had to go back to the dealership to get new paper plates. They changed the date on my registration; thereby falsifying my registration. When they did call me to let me know my plates were there, I set an appointment to fix the fog lights. When my husband went to get the license plates and fog lights repaired, he was told they never said they would fix the fog lights. The service manager said Brandon's response did not mean they would fix it. The salesman Brandon bought the light and we were told we could pay to have it fixed. My husband was rightfully upset that they denied this. If they didn't want to fix it, they should have just said that when I initially asked. We took the car to my mechanic to fix and he told us that the bulb that was in there was not a Honda part. He asked if it had been in an accident. The Car Fax reported no accidents. But, my mechanic did say that there was no way the dealership did not know about the fog light, because they weren't the same. It appeared that it had been placed in there to look similar and it never worked. If this car was certified, they knew the fog lights were different which is why they probably don't want to fix it. When my husband contacted the salesman and left a message, he to this day hasn't received a response. I also failed to mention that each time I was going back and forth to this dealership, it was a 50 mile roundtrip drive. I have bought several pre-owned cars and this is the worse experience. There is no accountability. Now, I'm stuck with a warranty that I'm afraid to go to this dealership to honor. I don't trust them and I wouldn't recommend them. read more
