There was also some upholstery cleaning that can be taken care of in detailing. I went to the Start Toyota - they offered ~$2700. This was the first quote and we did not want to trade-in for any vehicle that they had, because we didn't find any. We did buy another vehicle and were looking to sell ours now. Did not want to go through the private selling hassle because I did not have the time or the expertise to do this here. So, I asked my mechanic for options and he mentioned me to try Carmax. I was hesitant, because a family friend mentioned that they were the lousiest in the business, but I did give a try I went to Carmax; lousiest experience in car dealership ever. They were the roughest bunch of people that I ever dealt with. They survive because of the aggressive advertising. Was given a quote that was $2000 less than what Kelley Blue Book (KBB) average quote was ($3,381-$4,276). Discouraged, I asked the salesman from whom I bought my new vehicle. He directed me to a second-hand car salesman that he knew. That person offered $3000. Life happened and two months went by before I could find time to clean the car and call the guy. In the interim, I felt that I should get more for the car, call it a gut feeling..... So I chanced upon the Signpost when driving on the Gulf Freeway for Texas Direct Auto (TDA). It was the best thing for selling this car that I did. Loved dealing with Michael Ham and Jamicia Ware. Ambience was very calming. Wait was 30 minutes. Quote was hassle-free and quick. Rate was closer to the mid-range of what KBB gave. Walked out happy. Keep up the good work, TDA!!!!!!

It was the unfriendliest that a JSC employee has ever been to us. I went to buy checks. When the teller came up to the desk, he didn't smile and asked very monotone what I needed. I said I needed checks and handed him my ID and debit card. He told me checks come 100 to an order for $28 and took seven days. When I asked why they'd changed because previously I'd gotten twelve printed the same day, he said that was an option as well--so quiet that I could barely hear him. So I asked for those. He took my ID and debit card and left. A rough start, but I thought maybe the guy was having an off day or forgot about same-day checks. He came back and handed me my cards. He asked which checking account I wanted the checks for and I said my personal one. He stared at me without a response so I gave him the account number, to which he said, "I wasn't sure because you have a personal and a business account." So I repeated the information again, trying to understand how he was confused. He left without a word and came back several minutes later with the checks. He handed them to me and asked if I needed anything else. When I said no and thanked him, he just turned and walked off. When I walked out, the security guard wished me a good day--none of the tellers did. Management at this branch needs to assess their tellers. I could barely hear this guy because he refused to speak loud enough for me to hear, he never smiled, made no attempt to be friendly, and tried to complicate the situation of just needing checks. If JSC is moving this direction, we might rethink where we bank.

There is a lot to compare between things, and what better way to do it than have recent relevant experiences? Freddy Kia was the most rundown looking of the dealership we visited. Yes it's an optics criticism, but it matters when you just visited Lexus, Toyota, and Mazda before it. Experience is a valid factor in a large purchase, such as a car. The one item we wished to see was listed as a quantity of 1one in stock. BUT it was fresh off the truck. Unfortunately it was not road ready, as they have a process to clear them to drive after they arrive on the lot. So we didn't get to drive it. Luckily they had an alternative models with the same engine and suspension that at least allowed us a comparable driving experience. We came to compare, not to buy. If we can't drive it, it leaves our list. Kia is still on our list. Also as a note, the interior of the building was very cramped, and also just not comfortable. It reminded me of every care dealership I went to in college. Not much has changed, and it should. There are far better layouts and business models that work. And it is still impacting the buyer during her deliberation. Our salesperson was very knowledgeable about the car, and he was pretty quick to check the inventory and find some alternative models that would allow us the experience we needed to achieve our goal of the day: test drive to get a feel. He knew the mission. The area around the dealership also has terrible roads (not their fault), but it actually made the test drive more interesting as the gal was then forced to get a far better feel avoiding potholes, narrow roads, speed bumps etc. It was probably the most advantageous test drive she could have to get a feel for normal commute through the H. Our salesperson was very knowledgeable about the car, was able to answer all the questions, and took his time orienting her to the layout of the interface. Her last. Car was a 2017, things have changed. He also knew what our plan was, driving versus buying. And he wasn't pushy at all, which made it a much more comfortable experience. Overall, the facility needs work. It doesn't necessarily represent the brand well, and comfort matters when people are stressing about such a large purchase. It did look like half the lot was fresh off the truck, as they were all still wrapped. On a Saturday morning, that shouldn't be an issue. We want to see, we want to drive, and that's prime time. Our salesperson Dallas was great, and he's a big reason why Kia has made it to our final two in this journey As far as where we end up, to be continued...

When I informed them I was in the early stages of my search, I was respected for my time and informed to reach out when I was ready. When I finally narrowed down my search to a specific model, I reached out and made an appointment for a test drive. Alex was my salesperson and the Internet Sales Manager who assisted me. Very kind, patient, and willing to find out the answer to all my questions about features and walked me through the process of purchasing when and if I decided to purchase. I even met the manager who didn't hold me long and try to get me to purchase that day. I really appreciated that as someone who hasn't made a car purchase in 10 years. It can be intimidating to do so, therefore I am thankful that Bayway really respects their customers and strives to be insightful aa well as make one's car purchase as painless and stressfree as possible. LOOK IT UP. THE PARENT COMPANY IS KEN GARFF AUTO GROUP Wednesday 07/01/26 Early Afternoon called Big Star CJDR and spoke to the salesman Jonathon Padilla. I asked about a 2025 Chevrolet Z71 Suburban that they had listed for $60,820.00 online with Carfax and on their Dealership website. I had also made an online inquiry. Stock Number - SR283775W VIN - 1GNS6DRDXSR283775 After speaking with Jonathon, he was going to check the availability and get back with me. I told him I could come out that afternoon to look at the vehicle. Late that afternoon Jonathon called me and asked if I was going to be able to come out and look at the suburban. It was around 5:30 PM and told him at that point it was getting late. He said that if I would drive the 1 1/2 hours that we would fill up my truck with a full tank of gas. I decided to go ahead and go look at the Suburban. It was raining hard and traffic was bad. I called Jonathon and told him it would be close to 7:30 before I could get there knowing they closed at 8 PM. Jonathon told me he had a family emergency and had to leave the dealership but he had given my information to a young man by the name of Kevin. When I arrived, Kevin met me in the lobby and said he would get the Suburban and pull it around. After 10-15 minutes he came out of the glassed in sale center with a young lady who said she was a sales manager. She said they had a problem. The Suburban was still in line to be serviced and the keys were locked up and they could not get to them. She said that I could look at it but I could not drive the vehicle. Luckly, they had left one of the doors unlocked so we were able to get inside the Suburban and look at it. After Kevin and I looked at the Suburban we went back inside where he printed off the Carfax report and the window sticker for the vehicle. I asked Kevin to get me a deal sheet with the out the door price based off the advertised price of $60,820.00. Kevin said he could not get a deal sheet, but that Jonathon could get it for me in the morning. Which I thought was strange since there was still a sale manager there. I told him to have Jonathon to put the deal sheet together and send it to me in the morning. I also asked about the missing running boards that were listed on the Suburban's window sticker. He said he would find out. Thursday 07/02/2026 I did not get any communications from Jonathon after that. I called his cell and there was no answer. I called the dealership 3 times asking for him and continued to get put into Voice Mail. I called a fourth time and he answered. He told me that he was checking on the running boards and the deal sheet and would call me right back. At this point my wife and I were heading to your dealership with intentions of driving and buying the Suburban. Jonathon called me back and said there was a problem. He said that the price had been changed now to $65,216 plus Document fees which totaled $65,441. A $4,396.00 price change. I checked the Carfax and dealer website, and it was still listed for $60,820. I asked him how this could happen. When I looked up the pricing history online it actually had the Suburban listed at $60,595. Now we have a third price. 06/30/2026 - 07/01/2026 bigstardodge.com (dealer) Used $60,595 6.6% 25,580 miles 1 days Jonathon apologized repeatedly. And said he did not understand what had happened. He said that he was going to have his Manager John call me. I asked to speak with the GM to get an explanation and Jonathon said he did not know who the GM was. I told him that I was pulling over off the highway into a parking lot and would wait for John to call. I never got that call. At that point we started to head home since I had my wife with me and going to the dealership was not going to be pretty. Later in the afternoon I received a call from a lady who identified herself as Erin. She said that she understood that I wanted to speak with the GM.

I am closing all my accounts with them including checking, savings, credit card, and loans. I have had issues with my cards just not working and having to get 4 new cards in one year and friendly but entirely unhelpful support. My last straw was finally their lack of help after being a loyal and good standing customer of theirs for so long when I fell on some hard times. They were the only bank that was absolutely unwilling to help me during my time of hardship, while all other credit/loan companies went over and beyond. They have always taken all the money that they can as soon as they could and charged abundant penalties with no remorse. While they were not obligated to help me, given our history and that everyone else was happy to do so, I will not be back in the future as I begin to grow my family and business and would like to know that my bank is more friendly and supportive in the future. I have banked with capital one for almost as long via their credit line and have had nothing but good reviews, no fees, better support (both over the phone and virtually), better interest rates, more forgiveness and ability to work with me in pursuing my financial goals and obligations. I have now opened my debit and savings with them, and will not be back here.
