Last Saturday, I was on my way to a wire wrapping class at HGMS, but on my way, my vehicle began to go slower in speed and was making weird sounds. So I pulled over in a parking lot, tried to diagnose the situation myself by calling "mobile mechanics" near me. I called about 5 of them; three didn't answer, one of the three line was disconnected, one told me that they didn't have availability, another one told me that they can come right now, but they don't accept card only cash. I thought, dang, in a big city like Houston, the "mobile" mechanics are absolute trash. I was afraid to continue driving it as it was jerking and the engine output was very low. Low and behold, I had no other choice. Luckily, I was near my parents house and drove there to see if my dad could assess it. I got their home. He assessed it, ran a code on it with the code machine. The code was PO303 (cylinder misfiring). I know nothing about what this means, but from my quick Google search it sounds terrible. My dad suggested that I call the Toyota dealership. I was hesitant about it because I've heard they are very expensive, but since I knew the following weekend and by Halloween I have major plans that I'm not choosing to miss I settled and made an appointment by phone. I gave the chick over the phone all of my credentials. Appointment scheduled for 11:00 AM. I got to the service area at 10:30 AM since this place is six minutes from me. They took me in very quickly. I was assigned, Mr. Vu. He gathered my information twice since the chick over the phone entered it all wrong. I don't understand it. I told her it right. The system had me under a Toyota Corolla; I've never driven that vehicle in my life. I drive a Rav4 and before that had a Echo. Weird. Anyways, Mr. Vu explained everything thoroughly and gave me the next steps. I asked him about getting my key fob fixed too. He asked, "if I was sure I wanted Toyota dealership to fix it since they charge $400.00?" That's ridiculous. Car dropped off on Saturday. Sunday plans cancelled. Monday I was housebound, but received texts from the dealership of a video explaining a full workup on my car with issues. By Tuesday, Mr. Vu called and we went over the price list he had sent via text. AutoNation quoted me $8K to fix the cylinder misfiring (which was covered under warranty due to recall for the year and model of the vehicle), an alignment and brakes changed. I was astounded by the price. It scared me and I even considered just buying a new used car if it'll cost me this much, so I told Mr. Vu to fix the primary issue (what I came to the dealership for). He dropped the price from $8k to $1,600+taxes and labor. It'll take a day to get fixed and be ready by COB at 7pm. On Wednesday, I received a text from Mr. Vu at 6pm saying my car was ready. I catch an Uber there. I met with Mr. Vu, I paid $1,700 for the service and he urges me to get my brakes fixed. I told him I am, but just not here. My car arrives and it drives okay. TDLR: AutoNation Toyota isn't cheap for service, but they were reliable at getting my car assessed and fixed at a reasonable time. The service coordinator, Mr. Vu was very nice and attentive. Make sure to ask for him by name. He is short with conversations and isn't overly friendly or bubbly, but he was straightforward. My car is running again for now. read more

It was confirmed that the issue was seen in diagnostic. It needs a new engine. Recall. No solution. They love saying that. We are enjoying the Toyota Rave 4 that we purchased. Once you sign the paperwork, service goes to negative score for AutoNation. We paid for all tech floor mats. No mats and now they don't know when those we be in. Paid to have front windows tinted darker. Front Passenger window has bubbles in it and can't get sales person to help with this. Was told she would call me back in one hour. 2 weeks later I finally get hold of her. No help. I have to deal with it. She should be the one dealing with this. We caught that the wrong licenses plate were on the vehicle. Had to follow them to gas station to get the complimentary tank of gas. Should have been done before we picked it up. We came in on a Saturday to test drive a 2025 RAV4 Hybrid. We had a list of cars we wanted to test drive that day and this was close to where we were at the time. After this experience, I would never come back to purchase a vehicle. We were greeted as soon as we walked in by a salesman, so it was nice that we didn't have to wait. That was probably the best part of the experience. The salesman made a lot of inappropriate comments that were quite uncomfortable. One he repeated multiple times was how he's doesn't make a lot of sales because he's not bilingual and how happy he was that we came in (to insinuate that because we're not Hispanic, he'd be able to make a sale with us). He also went out of his way to mention his religious beliefs and too much about his personal life. I get that you want to get to know your customers by relating to them and establish a rapport, but what he shared in our conversation wasn't very professional. Lack of professionalism aside, he also wasn't knowledgeable of their inventory. He couldn't answer any questions we had about the vehicle and he didn't provide the correct car to test drive. Eventually, we left without test driving anything. The whole experience made me question if I wanted to reconsider buying a Toyota all together. I have never had a great experience at a dealership, I've always said car salesman/women are scammers and that's how they make their money, I've never been proven wrong until I came here. Rosman ( I hope I am spelling it right ) was pretty amazing, he cared about what I wanted and what I was looking for in a car as well as the safety of my children being my top priority. He also listened to my ptsd fueled stories about last dealership experiences, not sure if he had much of a choice in that. I had my heart set on a Subaru and after being treated not so great by them I came here and thanks to Rosman found my Subaru! I'm so happy with my car and my kids love our car! I am very glad that I came here and even more glad that I trusted Rosman in helping me finally find a car that my little family can be comfortable and feel safe in! This guy deserves a raise, bonus, or some form of appreciation from his employer because its employees like him that build a solid reputation for a company! Ms.Tania in finance was also amazing and they both were so nice to my children while we were there going through the car buying process! Had an appointment for oil change/tire rotation at 4pm, showed up 30 minutes early, didn't mind a little wait since I was early. They told me it would be an hour to hour and a half wait, which I was fine with. Sat and waited for 2 HOURS AND 40 MINUTES!!! Communication between tech and service writers are poor. Kevin Aguilera change the cabin filter and threw the old one out without showing me. Claims this is a $750 total service, complimentary from Toyota Service Package, but not worth 2.5 hour wait for what should be a 30 minute service, ESPECIALLY when I had an appointment. What the hell is the point in making appointments when you screw the customer and force them to wait 2 extra hours. Will not be returning. read more

Buying a car there was great, easy process. Getting something repaired/normal maintenance here is a different story. Service department is severely mismanaged. Scheduling everyone to come in at 7am to get their oil changed is not very consumer friendly and putting the people who decide to drop off their vehicle on the back burner is worse. Trying to get ahold of someone in the service department is also a work in fruitality. Got six people sitting at the desk and no one will pick up the phone. In the long run, go somewhere else for service. Dropped off vehicle at 7 am. Tried to get ahold of them starting at 11:30, finally got a call back after 3pm saying no work had been done. First off, Oneil was the best service advisor, and I do not fault him for what happened to me at my service appointment today. The service was quick, as always, but that was not the issue. I had a dried flower from my Dad's funeral arrangement that has been in the same spot on my dash for 4 1/2 years. I had just pulled out and was headed home when I noticed the flower was gone. I immediately pulled over in a panic and searched under seats, in my console, the glove box, nothing. I called Autonation Service and told them what happened. I was told three different versions of what happened. I was told the flower was in the way, and he moved it. Okay, where?! Then I was told it must have flown out the window. From the garage to where they parked my car is like 50 ft. and you would notice it flying out the window. Then I was told he wouldn't have just thrown it away, and they would check the trash and the parking lot. In the end, all I received was sorry we didn't see it. Well, thanks for nothing. As I went on to now wanting a Toyota Camry, Christopher was able to help me compare the different Toyota Camry trims from an LE, SE, to an XSE. Christopher explained the different features per each trim and was able to help me view the price point of certain trims at my price target, maximum desired mileage, and the desired year range of the vehicle. Eventually, I was down to debating of getting either the 2021 Camry SE with the newer style layout or paying alittle more by upgrading to the XSE that was a 2020 model (which was Camry's older style) but it had all the bells and whistles from power seating for both driver and passenger, moon roof, 19" rims for smoother ride. I ended up going with the Camry XSE and it was all due to the help of Christopher taking the time to understand what I was looking for in my everyday ride and asking the small details like how my Houston commute from work to home, from home to kids after school activities. My whole experience from selecting the right vehicle to selecting the right warranties packages felt like a "limo ride" experience. Went to this place to get a minor part in my car replaced. Best thing that I can say is: HIGHWAY ROBBERY! Do NOT come to this place! I had to wait about 7-10 minutes upon first arriving to AutoNation before someone actually came to see me. When my car was finally taken to get seen by a mechanic, I was NOT kept updated on the status of my car. How much longer will I have to wait? How much is this going to cost me? These are all valid questions. After waiting almost an hour and still not hearing an update, I had to hunt down the guy who originally took my car and asked him to give me an update on my car. I had to wait about 23 more minutes for him to give me an update. He told me I would have to pay at least $199 for labor plus the cost of the part. He then told me they didn't have the part I needed, so I would have to wait another hour and a half for them to have my car ready. I told him I would just take my car somewhere else. I took my car to get repaired at another place, and had my car up and running with the part I needed in less than 15 minutes and paid about $69.00. Horrible customer service. I Only wanted engine oil. Rude PARTS DIVISION immediately became frustrated and nasty with me because I did not know the weight of the oil. They stated the system was down and they could not look up the information for me. I told them the name of the car is on the motor oil. "Two" of them assured me that it is not. I told them I've bought the oil multiple times and the name of the car is on the oil. She magically, somehow, got it out of the back (with the name of the car on it.) Another response from a male team member was "Well there's two different engines for the car". My response."Well they both have the name of the car on the engine oil. " Jealousy doesn't look too cute. And being nice to customers matters. If you can be so nasty behind a purchase of motor oil. Just imagine what other customers must face on more high price items. I'm no stranger to car dealers. I've purchased new and used. These guys left a bad taste in my mouth. I was searching AutoNation online and found just the specific car I was looking for for. I started the online process to buy the car right then. For credit approval, set up an appointment, even used their payment estimates to determine how much I was going to put down to get the rate I wanted. I have good credit and cash in hand. I was ready to pull the trigger on this car. I was texted from Nyanna asking when I wanted to come to the dealership. I confirmed the car was still available - yes, she responded. Good! I'll take it. The next morning she sends a credit application to my email. I call her. Is the vehicle still available? Yes she responds. Good, I was cleaning out my vehicle for trade in. I tell her that and she says she'll get with her finance manager and call me back. She didn't. I notice the online listing says "sale pending" (I thought it was to me - I was wrong)In the afternoon I call the dealership and talk to their sales manager. Is the car still available? Yes it is he replied. Good, lock it down for me. We started talking rates and down payment, etc. I was not fucking around. He eventually tells me he's sending this to his finance guy who will call me back in 30 minutes. He did not. The listing for the car was taken down - like it's sold. So I call him the next morning - no answer. No return call. I finally call the dealership in the afternoon and talk to Babar Samuals another of their sales managers. After being none to polite he gives me a story about how they gave the vehicle a safety inspection and it didn't pass. Said they wouldn't sell me that car, they would be sending it to auction. I understand they were stringing me along the whole time. They already had a buyer but they wanted to keep me on the hook. Baboo suggested other cars with a higher price and, not what I wanted. I was able to go to another dealer the same day and walked out with the car I wanted. So if you've read this far in the review? Find another dealership. Ryan had other clients, but still was readily available to take me on a ride to view what was on lot as well as test drive two cars. The goal was to get a Toyota Camry XSE, however the one I wanted was at Greenway and was unable to be seen that day . Ryan found me a Volkswagen Arteon on the lot that I test drove and was beautiful, inside and out. Amin the finance manager was able to lower my GAP and gave a reasonable price on the 5year warranty that still allowed me to have the monthly car note I was wanting. I've been trying to sell my car back to AutoNation Toyota, where I originally bought it, and each time I've come in I felt disrespected. The car is solely under my name, not my partners, but every time we came in I was immediately dismissed and the representative always directed their attention to my (male) partner. I genuinely feel this is because I was a female. Even when there were snags in the process, the sales rep Shajeel, and the manager both spoke directly to my partner ignoring me unless I asked questions, but even then they would give their answers looking at my partner. They made me feel invisible. Not only did they treat me like this during this process, but I've had horrible experiences with their service department as well! They lied to me telling me my tires didn't have a warranty on them when they did, and I had to buy all new tires. After complaining to a manager they told me that they should have been covered and were able to give me a reimbursement after a bit of talking. Another instance was when I had to get my car serviced and when receiving my car back, there was a dirty banana peel sitting in my drivers side floorboard. Absolutely disgraceful. Judith Ruiz Leon is giving a bad reputation to Auto Nation in general not just Toyota as far as after sells support. This was my first email to her: After putting 61 miles on the jeep I have a check engine light (I'm not saying this is the case but computers normally reset after about 60 miles). I find this unsatisfactory considering it had been parked in my driveway (with the exception of taking it to a window tinter) for two weeks. What is Auto Nation Toyota's intention in this matter? It took 3 emails and a phone call (she never return) and a threat to give her a bad review before she responded. She initially responded with a very hostile email threatening me with a bad review (which is funny because I gave her the asking price minus the tint). She did come back and apologized with a follow up email that ended with me taking the Jeep to Auto Nation Katy. They said the problem was an ignition coil and the spark plugs. The ignition coil was covered by the warranty but not the plugs and that would cost $750. I told him I would contact Judith so all the work would be covered. I sent her 2 more emails in the last 2 days and again have not received a response, even though I asked her to please let me know if she was going to do anything or if I was on my own. Final email: It would have been considerably more professional for you to have responded to the email letting me know that auto nation toyota has no intentions of doing anything rather than ignoring me. I hate being ignored and I'm pretty sure you don't like to be ignored. Last chance to make this right. No response. I told Auto Nation Katy I'm at the point that I just want to get my Jeep back so just do what the warranty allows and I'll change the plugs myself. I made an appt. for 9 am and didn't leave until 10:30. 1.5 hours for something I could've gotten done at Discount Tire in 15 minutes. They didn't put air in tires; a month later I got a low tire pressure warning and when I went to Discount Tire, all 4 tires were low. I don't know if I'll go back for service. I would give them a F-. This review is for the service department (as I only by my vehicles from Carvana or Vroom, because car salespeople make my skin crawl). My situation is interesting... I bought a car off Vroom -- a 2015 model with only 31 miles on it -- in 2018. Needless to say, the original warranty had expired. But these folks investigated it and snagged me a new warranty as the original owner. I only gave this place a chance because of a previous used-car purchase for one of my kids. Everything went off without a hitch, and I didn't get the B.S. that one expects with a purchase. Though we had some back-and-forth during the initial discovery phase (let's face it, not too many cars are sold with only 31 miles on the odometer), the service management here eventually hooked me up. My service advisor is Jose. He knows my situation, so I request him to take care of things ... and he does. One thing I've noticed about him, though, is he takes care of everyone else on his list. I financed my first vehicle here and I thought I was treated with the utmost quality of customer service. The initial stages are great, but then after you leave and try to talk to the finance team, they will always be "busy". I got my truck in the first week of August, and a whole month later they won't respond to my emails. I've been trying to fix my APR% with my SCRA benefits being on OLS for the Army, and still no sense of urgency from these people. RIDICULOUS!!! AND UNPROFESSIONAL!!! Felipe Bibian, the service advisor tried to scam me out and lie to me that my tire alignment was off showing some technology that showed my car had some. Didn't even bother being nice or getting to know me, went straight for the sale and pushed into getting a throttle body intake service for my 2017 corolla. Showed me the pricing estimate and they were RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED!I've got sales experience and I knew right away something was fishy and fake. Luckily I called my original place I take my car in for maintenance in baytown Toyota and the service advisor told me he used to work there and that this location would shove sales and unnecessary expenses down customers pockets and wallets for them to shell out. Food for thought: do your homework on how much maintenance should cost for your vehicle. Shop around and find someone that isn't lying to your face and be friend the dealership and stay loyal to them. read more
