: Poor Representation and Miscommunication at Big State Pawn I recently visited Big State Pawn and experienced what I would consider a disappointing display of customer service and communication. I had placed a game console on layaway that was advertised and sold as a combo including four games -- the combo was the very reason I chose to purchase it. Two weeks later, when I picked it up, I noticed that one of the games was missing from the box. When I brought this to the attention of an employee, a african american female with braids whom I was not speaking with or too responded in a condescending and dismissive tone, saying, " you know the games aren't actually a combo right? We gave them to you for free...like they just come free with the console." with a smug look on her face... That response was unprofessional, unnecessary, and frankly made no logical sense. The product was marketed and displayed as a four-game combo, and any reasonable customer would expect to receive exactly what was advertised. Thankfully, another associate who demonstrated professionalism and respect simply asked that I bring in the console so we could check. I did, and we discovered that the missing game was inside it and if it was not, she would give me another game.. That simple, respectful approach was all that was needed from the beginning. This situation was never about the game itself; it was about how it was handled. We customer decide to spend their money, they deserve to be treated with courtesy and understanding, not condescension. The tone, professionalism, and attitude displayed by that one staff member reflect directly on the company as a whole. Big State Pawn, please take this as an opportunity to remind your team that customer service is not just about making a sale...it's about maintaining trust, respect, and integrity with every interaction. Was having my vehicle worked on near by so I walk in. Purchased an item (Sound Bar) with optional 30 day coverage since item was sold As IS. Ended up returning the Sound Bar and they offered store credit or refund. I chose store credit. Entire process was flawless. The staff was polite and friendly. No rushing me as I took time just to look around the store. Excellent customer service. read more

The absolute worst pawnshop I have ever been to in my entire life. Taking into consideration that the pawn shop is on crack head lane You can get what you expect to get from that environment but I never expected them to not want to sell me a product and call me an a****** because I asked them a question about buying a product they were too busy on their cell phones and playing on a computer instead of paying attention to customers who were trying to spend money with them As a business owner I know how upset I would be if my employees were sending money away and running it out the door Is by calling someone an a****** because they know about a product. If you don't like your job find another job if you don't like your life unalive yourself I don't care but don't take it out on the person who's trying to spend money. read more

Probably one of the most unprofessional pawn shops I've ever been to. I know you don't always get top dollar for your items at a pawn shop. I know that ultimately they have the right to buy or not buy whatever it is that I decide to pawn off. But this situation isn't that. My horrible experience is the horrible customer service that I encountered. Last week I went in to pawn off some camera equipment that I dont really use. Clearly in perfect condition and was a quality brand. Compared to a similar item in the store, this one was more of a premium item. After getting passed up by whom I can only assume was the manager, a young woman behind the counter offered to help me. She obviously didn't have much experience working there so she called over another store worker to help look at the items. I can only assume that he lacked any real knowledge about pawn transactions because he just looks at it and offers $5 for it. He did know what it was. He didn't try to look up the item to see the market value. He didn't ask a senior member at the store. He just looked and said 5 dollars. This item i was selling was a high grade camera stand worth $100 new and has only been slightly used. meanwhile, in the store in the camera equipment section, the is a camera stand that they were selling for $80. I seen the same stand they had sold in stores like best buy and target for $30 dollars... I call them out on this and flat out told them I know the value of my item and that they're also marking up old, used up gear for more than what its worth. Then guy says he would go talk to his manager and goes to the back office. Nobody comes back to actually check out my item, because the manager was actually out on the floor with another customer. So when the guy comes back alone, I'm not surprised. I can only assume he went back there to waste time and BS another price. So once he told me he would give me $15 for my stand, I just walked out. The problem with alot of pawn shops is that they dont look at the item to see how much its worth, they look at the seller of the item and determine the worth from there and that a horrible way of doing business. I know you rarely break even when selling things to pawn shops but ripping off customers is totally different. I will never do business with these people again and I'll do my best to warn others of this pawn shops crappy practice. read more

I will give them a 4-star for customer service but I was disappointed in that I didn't get much of a loan for my item. Due to the bank holiday, we were strapped for funds and my husband's phone had lost airtime. He needs his phone for sales calls! So other than that I thank the pawn broker for loaning us enough to buy my hubby's phone card! , Lastly the store was immaculate, very neat and clean. read more

Good pawn shop for a chain. Usually have a massive selection of DVD's for cheap. Lots of tools for decent prices. They might deal a little, but you don't generally have to worry about getting screwed either. read more
