He has fixed my cheap Squire fretless bass and commented that it was actually good sounding to his ears. He has also fixed a dear friend's 1950s Gibson acoustic and did an excellent Job on it. It sounds so incredibly better.. Aside that fair amount of serious repairs, he was very good about communicating extra things he discovered on this 70+ yr old horse that he asked if I wanted repaired and it was contingent upon the initial issue to be resolved that it needed to be done. Most car shops find things wrong to upsell you, but this is not the place for that. Be assured that after getting my bass, and forgot my 1st Guild he set a long while back is still a daily horse, perfect, then this prized Gibson now sounds majestic; I'm super happy with Gregory's knowledge and friendly savvy candor. : Poor Representation and Miscommunication at Big State Pawn…read more I recently visited Big State Pawn and experienced what I would consider a disappointing display of customer service and communication. I had placed a game console on layaway that was advertised and sold as a combo including four games -- the combo was the very reason I chose to purchase it. Two weeks later, when I picked it up, I noticed that one of the games was missing from the box. When I brought this to the attention of an employee, a african american female with braids whom I was not speaking with or too responded in a condescending and dismissive tone, saying, " you know the games aren't actually a combo right? We gave them to you for free...like they just come free with the console." with a smug look on her face... That response was unprofessional, unnecessary, and frankly made no logical sense. The product was marketed and displayed as a four-game combo, and any reasonable customer would expect to receive exactly what was advertised. Thankfully, another associate who demonstrated professionalism and respect simply asked that I bring in the console so we could check. I did, and we discovered that the missing game was inside it and if it was not, she would give me another game.. That simple, respectful approach was all that was needed from the beginning. This situation was never about the game itself; it was about how it was handled. We customer decide to spend their money, they deserve to be treated with courtesy and understanding, not condescension. The tone, professionalism, and attitude displayed by that one staff member reflect directly on the company as a whole. Big State Pawn, please take this as an opportunity to remind your team that customer service is not just about making a sale...it's about maintaining trust, respect, and integrity with every interaction.
