Can you tell exactly what I'm ordering? It's like Russian Roulette for your mouth.

I want to first say the food is pretty good 85% of the time, but the customer service is TERRIBLE. This is a food truck, so why the pretentious attitude? Im trying to buy something from you, so why be an A$$*&+) ? if I ask whether curry is red or green instead of using your very special dish names from your generic non-descriptive menu clearly I can't tell from your menu or I wouldn't ask for clarification. It was also a very unhappy surprise to find tails on my battered shrimp (honestly didn't expect battered shrimp at all in my stir fry, but that just brings us back to poor menu description) if I'm paying $10+ for a plate from a food truck I shouldn't have to worry about hidden tails. Spring the extra $1 for precleaned shrimp. also very sad that my Spicy Basil Stir Fry had hardly any veggies in it. it was 80% white rice. was it good? Yes, would I buy from this truck again? No I don't think so. good food, bit overall the terrible experience and LONG wait times for my food left a bad taste in my mouth.

Overall the dishes were really tasty and the service was great. The prices are a little high. It's an interesting place, it has this interesting vibe of old town/historic blended with Thai restaurant. It was fun! I think that a thicker curry, more rice, and a little less expensive would really make this place shine... at least for me.

Lots of my friends love this place and I keep giving it another shot, but it's never risen above…read more"fine". They have a larger variety of dishes than my personal fave Thai place in town, Zoo Thai, but the flavors are worse. On the plus side, the softshell crab appetizer is pretty good and unique. They have several more curry options too. The spice level ratings seem consistent across dishes, but a 5/5 here just means "actually spicy" (high end of medium for my East Asian spice tolerance). This latest time, I ordered the Pad Kee Mao at a 5 with tofu. It was very noodle heavy, probably used frozen veggies (has that distinctive jagged edge sliced carrot rather than shredded) and even at the highest spice level I found myself adding chili crisp to the leftovers to make it tastier. For reference, this spice level corresponds to about 2.5/5 in a Zoo Thai noodle dish (but Zoo Thai has a different scale for noodles vs curry vs rice dishes vs apps, beware). I'll give it another shot sometime, try their coconut-milk-less Jungle Curry at a 5, and hope for stronger flavor. But in the meantime I can't recommend this place if you like Thai food strong and spicy rather than creamy (I'm not a fan of coconut milk so I can't speak to those dishes).

If you like Thai food, this is a fantastic place to go while in Missoula. My husband and I went…read morelast night and it is truly some of the best Thai food I've had! And I eat Thai food everywhere I can possibly eat Thai food. The restaurant does not take reservations so the earlier you arrive a better off you are they do have indoor and outdoor stating however, so that helps at least in summer. The inside is so cute and they have murals everywhere painted with Asian caricatures. As soon as you walk in the hostess stand is just to the left and the bar is directly ahead. It is a small bar, but they have this super fun, "red light"district window at the end of the bar that if you want to order a drink while you wait for your table, this is where you do it... I loved it! We started with the eggrolls, and then we had the ginger chicken stirfry, also the Gang Karee with chicken and the Pad Kee Ma! We even surprised ourselves with how much food we had ordered and how much we ate of it! We couldn't stop.!! It was so good even our server said we did a fantastic job of ordering... we were experts! We also noticed that our particular server was covering about 70% of the restaurant as a server and still managed to give us amazing attention! She was great!

For overall food, it's my number 2 but my number 1 Asian food restaurant. Does that make sense???? A Thaiger has sushi selections and Taiwanese/Asian fusion type dishes. it is a diner type setting and it is best to get there early. They are open for lunch from, I think, 11 to 2 and then they close until dinner time at 5. They are closed on Mondays and sometimes they have to close during the week because of staffing shortages. This seems to be getting more common in this post-covid world. It seems that it is just hard to find folks who will commit to working. I love A-Thaiger and, while I do try to order new items on occasion, I am a creature of habit. I absolutely love their sweet and sour chicken. I is amazing to me. The chicken is fried up in a crunchy-ish batter, is packed full of veggies and has several pieces of pineapple in it. it is covered by a sweet and sour sauce that is NOT the standard out-of-a-bottle orange gelatinous goo. Quite frankly, it is delicious. We also love their Shumai appetizer (did I spell that right?) and sushi options. The only thing we haven't enjoyed so far is the Tom Yum soup. It is a bit more sour than we enjoy. The only consistent ding that I have for A-Thaiger is that they are not good at answering their phone because they get so busy. Sometimes we think they are just busy and drive 40 minutes only to learn they are closed due to staffing shortages or they are too packed to accept more guests. Lately though, they have put on their Facebook page updates when they are closed due to staffing levels. Do try A-Thaiger. I think they serve yummy food. I will try to post a few pictures when I go back next time.
