I can't forget to mention our waitservice - Nevaeh was fully attentive but not overpresent. Outstanding - she's young, but already a professional. Added some Italian dishes to and already nice menu with steaks fish and chicken. Some nice improvements on the outside seating area too. I love the new bar area. It's got a great vibe "Everybody at the bar gettin' tipsy" and such a nice selection to choose from. "Someone pour me up a double shot of whiskey. They know me and Jack Daniels got a history". But know your limit because "One, here comes the two to the three to the four" .... They have free use of kayaks, canoes, water toys and swim platform. They have their own private boat launch. Great owners. Planned camp activities change weekly and they post a schedule. GREAT ice cream in the lodge. Has a guest laundry, fish cleaning house and they sell bait, ice and small snacks/pizzas.

We really enjoy the cabin and all of it's amenities. When we are not out hunting, we have been able to go canoeing, watch the northern lights, and visited friends and family in and around Grand Rapids. The lake is not a fishing lake. Literally no fish! The boats they provide are half sunk in the water and are of poor condition. PS: If you are city folks who don't fish or don't do much on the water and want to enjoy the sound of the loons and sitting around using their VERY GOOD WI-FI this fine. It's the North woods and our cabin was tucked into a spruce and birch grove. It was clean and rustic. The Beach had a water trampoline, an Iceberg float, kayaks and canoes for our use.. The lodge had some activities for the kids which is handy for a rainy day but we were never bored because we were either in the water playing or fishing Northstar Lake. Ken was very helpful with providing fishing tips, making shakes, or helping out with some minor truck trouble. Would I stay here again? I Sure would!

Rachel and Travis really are the owners that care about making this a place that people love to visit and return again and again. During the years we have stayed here, there have been many regulars that have not returned and I know one problem has been with the previous owner. Now is the time to give it another try and I am sure you will be more than happy with the "New Spider Shores". We have just returned from our recent stay and I have to admit that this has been probably the best stay in a long time. Even all the little improvements have not gone unnoticed. One important thing Travis told me that I feel tells a lot about the direction of the resort. He said "it is only going to get better" and I think that says it all. For us, we like the setting and the lake itself and it just adds so much having owners like Rachel and Travis. We wish them a ton of success in this new adventure!
