Good produce at good prices. Much better quality than most supermarkets in Staten Island.

Staten Island is a black hole of quality Grocery Shopping. The Key Food's make you want to die…read more The Western Beef's are...well...Western Beef's. The Shoprite's are horribly designed and overcrowded. The Path Mark's are like entering the 3rd World and returning without supplies. Finally, we've found this new Met Food's location on Victory in Castleton Corners. And finally we have a Grocery Store that is: -Stocked with fresh produce -Organized and Clean -Priced fair and often cheap -Easy to maneuver around in -Staffed with people that actually work -Abound with goods that are labeled properly and easily read I can't say enough about this Met Food. It opened recently maybe a few months back or so. It's indicative of someone that really took time and effort to lay it out properly and stock it with fresh produce. When I shop for food, clothing or anything else I want it to be pleasant. As Jerry Seinfeld said, "I wanna go in, I wanna get what I need and then I'm gonna get back to my regular life. You see that same person 20 minutes later just struggling. 'What isle is this? I've never been down this isle before.' They start noticing new things. Oh they've got 'em in mesquite flavor now. 'What is mesquite? Wonder if it's made from mosquitos?' Markets, in general, are like casinos...there's no doors, no windows, no easily accessible exits. The deli staff do not listen, are extremely rude and will try to overprice you every chance they get when weighing, all the products are kept in buckets that they then pour into trays on the display, they taste bad half the time.. The rolls and bread are either over baked behind the deli where they reheat them from melone brothers or they're mangled carelessly. Their meat section is stocked with at expiration or expired items, they change the dates to sell. The produce section always stocked with far fresh items. They put large eggs in xl eggs cases and charge you for xl prices. Greedy practices and poor customer service over and over again. I spent hundreds of dollars multiple times a week for many, many years. Think twice before shopping here, I'll definitely never return.
