-There is a rotting dead animal smell in the soda aisle that has been there for years. -Cart wheels locked inside of the parking lot (farthest parking spot, but is still in the parking lot) causing me injury. -There's frequently questionable activity in the parking lot. I've seen a man walking around with his privates exposed, people layed out on the sidewalk in front of the entrance, and men commonly loiter outside. -Bathroom is one of the dirtiest in the the neighborhood. -Customer service is absolutely rude, which is what finally, after many, many instances of this has made me post this update. I started going to the 1441 Richmond location which is a lot nicer, but farther from my house. Every time I come back to this location just because it's closer, I regret it. read more

Not my favorite location. Decent store. Clean, usually get in and out as quickly as possible when I do shop here. Can be crowded, often. Long lines, yes even at customer service too Ugh. Honestly, the restroom could use a revamp, years ago! They need to do that ASAP. read more

Don't remember when the last time I came here, but this store looks completely different! It's huge, organized & clean. I was very shocked today lol! Asking myself why I don't come here that often. Now let's talk about the price, I only got items I needed! Got lucky with couple of them being on sale. Fruits looked fresh, some of the vegetables not so much. Seafood area was little disappointing! I end up getting frozen shrimp! I also got some discounts on that ! I always try to help local businesses so I got some apples instead buying the bagel ones. It's huge so I wasn't able to look around the whole store, I had to come home & cook. But next time I will definitely come with time on my hands . Happened again! Scheduled delivery between 2pm - 4pm. Called SFH Customer Service at 4:20pm. was told that order was "out for delivery" (still), but girl had no idea where driver was nor when groceries would arrive. Delivery actually arrived at 4:48pm, Bags were so wet they tore from bottom (all but two) and some contents like boxes of jello and cereal were soaked through! On 9/18/22 I was picking up an order with there curb side pick up and I have to praise the two young ladies who bought out the orders, they both apologized for the wait. When I asked why so long I was told that they were behind there's only one person working back in the orders who was left high and dry so they pulled a girl from another department to help as much as she could! They were so professional and lovely sincere apologies they welcomed every car with a smile and an apology for the stress they were put under I wanna praise them I will be calling the store in the morning to tell the manager about their great work lucky I got theirs names Megan and Melinda are great workers read more

Please read first I just want to say, please either put more working self scans out or have a capable employee that can actually service and help increase the speed of checking out and not making it even more slower. There was 6 of them. And when the employee went to help someone, one of the units broke and has no idea how to fix it. Or even know what the problem was. Got 2 other dudes over attempted to fix. Shop & Stop is huge! Seriously, it's like I'm doing a 5k when I take my cart around the store, hence the minus 1 star. Also, not too crazy about the meat selection. It feels a bit lacking to me. They do offer some pretty good deals. I've found great discounts on breakfast items and snacks and they sometimes offer coupons for free items if you sign up for their emails and have that Shop & Stop store card. They also mail $5 off $15 coupons to your house, so extra score. Also love the baked items they offer. read more

I visited this location on 7/9/22 @ approximately 9:30 pm. During self-check-out, I noticed one of the workers (very tall and masculine-looking elderly caucasian lady) was signaling the guard, to keep an I on me as if I planned to pilferage the products in my basket. Upon completion of the purchase transaction, I was approached by this lady, who rudely ordered me not to take the basket out of the store. I told her that I'd been visiting this location for years and that I knew about not taking baskets out of the store. She continued to talk back while looking at my items to tally and make sure all products were accounted for and began to make fun of me with another caucasian female worker (short with glasses...sort of looked like Frodo). I called them racists as they laughed at me with the manager present. I have never stolen anything all my life and as a Puerto Rican, I'm tired of being racially profiled. I have never been treated this way in this market! Even the guards seemingly respect me. I feel that the responsibility of checking baskets/carts should be the responsibility of the guards. The quality of this Stop & Shop is rapidely declining. I will find another supermarket to shop from moving forward, although it makes me sad because I use to enjoy visiting this location. I recommend that your employees get trained in Cultural Competency. A person like myself constantly experiences racism and social stigma from the outstanding racist citizens (black, white and Latinos) of Staten Island, it's exausting and unnecessary. read more

Oh boy, how one experience can sour your feelings for a brand. I usually have a fine time when I shop at Stop and Shop - I've been shopping there monthly even before Pathmark went out of business. The prices are not too crazy, they usually have everything I need, and the customer service is fine. This time, I really might not return. Normally, I get rang up by some nice person who chats as they work. Just an hour ago, I was not even greeted by Giuseppe, whom was constantly checking his text messages in between interactions with customers. And this I can let slide. The job is boring, I get it. However; Giuseppe then decided to keep putting HIS HANDS IN HIS MOUTH. I'm serious. He was actually putting his fingers into his mouth. I asked him if he had any hand sanitizer behind the register, and told him I'm asking because he keeps putting HIS HANDS IN HIS MOUTH, and that he was going to handle the food I'm buying. He said "OK", then went back behind the customer service counter to pump some sanitizer. OK. We are making progress. THEN he goes into some other room, presumably telling his coworker what happened. He comes back out, rubbing his hands. So I THINK I witnessed him cleaning his hands. Or maybe he did something even dirtier back there. Someone who thinks nothing of putting THEIR FINGERS IN THEIR MOUTH WHILE HANDLING GROCERIES may or may not have moral objections to "teaching me a lesson", if you know what I mean. The management here needs to instruct their employees on what germs are, and how to avoid spreading them. Also, this guy should be fired. You have to be a masochist or desperate to shop at this store. Nearly every cart is broken beyond being useful, the firecracker of a store manager Ed said that maybe they will have new carts in 8 weeks. Was so excited that Pathmark was being replaced by Stop & Shop but this place has been a dud since day one. Every time I shop here I always have a terrible experience. Let me start off by saying whenever I leave here and go home I always end up leaving with one or two expired items when they are putting new items out the expired ones should be taken off the shelves. I one time had the Motts apple slices that were a month old ( guess I need to be more careful) .. I also don't appreciate how rude the employees are here, whenever I go online and my items are being scanned it never fails that whatever lane i am in the cashier just keeps throwing my items down squishing things and making a massive pile and they hardly help me bag .. this place has gone completely down hill since stop and shop has taken over! The other day I had the utmost horrific experience with with one of the customer service managers named YAYA at Stop & Shop on forest ave. whom at the time refused to give me her last name. She was rude and obnoxious who the company needs to consider getting rid of; if not retraining her in regards to body language, tone and choice of words.Clearly whomever hired her must've had an off day because she lacks professionalism and courtesy. Her approach regarding my child wearing her mask under her noise was beyond disgusting and your company once again really needs to address this matter immediately. She needs to learn how to be more mindful as to how she delivers to others because if she cant then clearly working with the public or people at that isn't a suitable job for her. Preferred pathmark, shopped there for years, always was able to buy what I needed. I find stop and shop just stops selling things and never restocks them. Their meat products can't touch pathmark. I find myself leaving the store without needed items because they don't sell them. I hate shoprite it's confusing and dirty.have not had a decent ham for the holidays since pathmark closed. Bought their brand ham, it was so dry. I have started buying things online on Amazon, gonna have to check out the meat market around the corner. read more
