    Captain Works For Tips

Captain Works For Tips. As others have pointed out, the logistics of meeting Captain Brent is a little weird. You meet at the Chevron gas station, then follow his giant truck, complete with Trump-Pence bumper sticker to the airboat. The property was an airstrip, with old crumbling planes - interesting. A little research yields the info that this was probably an old "fishing camp" at one time, with air access. I did have a Groupon - as others have said - there is no mention of a time restriction on the actual Groupon - you only find that out when you call Captain Brent. The time was OK for us. Captain Brent did ask for a credit card for a "cancellation fee". I attempted to point out to Captain Brent that since the ride was paid in full, and in advance, a "cancellation fee" would be redundant. This logic didn't really resonate with Brent, and I did not give him a credit card number. As we finally boarded the airboat, Brent did point out in no uncertain terms: Captain Works For Tips. As other have mentioned, the airboat itself kept dying, but always started up again. That was part of the excitement! You get to see a LOT of gators, and cool scenery, moss draped trees. Captain Brent looks and acts like a character right out of Disney central casting, complete with giant gator tooth necklace. Isn't that why you go on an airboat ride in Florida? My son and daughter-in-law, from Denver, wanted to experience "the swamp" in Florida, and this fits the bill.

I've been on several airboat rides.. This one was almost unbelievable! The website lead me to think this was a reputable business! Wrong! We took family from out of town who have never been on a airboat. We started wondering when we had to meet the guide at a shell gas station... We then followed for a few miles to a field with old airplanes, going thru a locked gate to a airboat pulled up on the grass. We proceeded on the airboat and had to watch our guide start an argument with another airboat in his 'territory'.. Our guide sped up & stopped fast to not only rock their airboat, but other innocent fishermen. He continued to complain to us the entire ride about other business airboats in his area... This ride on a lake with a swamp in the middle. We seen only 3 alligators! We could not hear him talk when he was trying to tell us about an alligator sighting until he stopped. The other airboats had ear protection with microphones so they could hear and talk to their guide.. Airboats are noisy. Our family did enjoy it but we did not. I would recommend you find a reputable company.

I was skeptical about this airboat ride because of how it was planned out. They wait you to meet at a gas station, then follow them to the airboat site the. They said the credit machine didn't work so they only took cash. Anyway I had a ball lol. The airboat ride was over an hour long and had all kind of fun surprises along the way. He even lets you hold a baby gator. I would recommend, just be mindful it's legit just confusing lol in planning.

This was so much fun! Captain Bret gave us enough info but not too much. The view of the swamp is breathtaking. My kids loved holding the gator at the end of the ride. We will be back next time we are in Fl.

Before going out, we got a comprehensive safety brief and were informed of an area to keep our belongings. As we were cruising, we wore headsets with speakers in which captain Ryan was speaking about the surrounding environment. The headset also had microphones in which we would reply to him. As we got into the swampy area, the ride was smooth and as someone who is scared of water, I felt completely safe. Captain Ryan brought us to some wonderful hidden gems such as a few alligator nests where he explained their structure in detail and answered any questions with complete answers. We got very close to alligators and baby alligators (freshly hatched the day before) and it was an amazing experience. Captain Ryan made us feel confident that we were not in danger and if we were, he would be able to handle it. As we were finishing our tour it started to pour and we switched our headset out for a water friendly version. Rather than bringing us directly back to the docking area, we sat under an overpass to prevent getting completely drenched and possibly hurt. We made it back and Captain Ryan made sure we were all safe getting off. Overall, a truly wonderful experience. More than worth the price. It was beyond what we expected in the best ways.

Last but not least, I received a call from an employee asking for a positive review on this website because of Janet's review. I decided to wait until I received my DVD before writing a review (which still hasn't come). Upon further research, I discovered another ghost tour at 520 North Main St in Kissimmee which also has terrible reviews with many of the same complaints. Looks like they just changed the name to try to attract new business. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g34352-d3590704-Reviews-Ghost_Tracker_Ghost_Tours-Kissimmee_Florida.html I would not recommend using this ghost tour. I am going to look into American Ghost Adventures.

The captain (Ian) is very knowledgeable and able to tell us exactly what we can and can't keep and has been doing this kind of stuff pretty much his whole life. He found us some great spots, and went above and beyond during the trip. Highlight of the trip was when he helped us snag a large bull shark! They were great about telling us what we needed to do, but letting us actually do it. We actually hooked a second one, but it ended up snapping the line on that one. They filleted what we caught as soon as we got back to the pier and we were able to get it cooked right away at the restaurant at the pier, and took home the rest of what we weren't going to eat. This was my first experience deep sea fishing. This was, by far, the best fishing trip I could have asked for and set a VERY high bar for any future fishing trips to follow in the future.

They also had a cooler with water and Gatorade for passengers. We saw sea turtles, dolphins, red fish, and many native birds. They also had a fish tank and woukd let the children interact with them.
