I was in Orlando and my husband was nice enough to get me a Groupon to this museum and tour. It was a very nice experience. It includes the history of Chocolate, how it is made, twenty landmark sculptures made out of Chocolate, and a sampling of eight pieces of chocolate. There is also a store to purchase chocolates, ice cream, sandwiches and other things. Seating is available if you want to eat there.

The tour was very nice and Dave was great! He was our tour guide and very funny. We had a great time learning about the history of chocolate and seeing so many cool things. We also got the samples with the tour which was sooooo yummy! The kids and I enjoyed ourselves. The place is beautiful inside and the decor is very nice too. The staff was extremely kind and accommodating. We would recommend and definitely will come again!

This was a cute chocolate store, cafe, and tour. I don't regret coming here first on this Orlando trip, but I wouldn't say it needs to be included on most travel itineraries. If you're on a budget, it does provide cute entertainment for the price, especially with the Groupon deal. There's a lot of parking in this long strip of shops, but there's so much bustle here, and the road between the parking spaces is condensed. The chocolate tour runs every hour between 12-5pm, and lasts for about 45 minutes to 1 hour. It's recommended to call in to reserve a time slot, since it's first come first served for walk-in tours. When I called, I was actually just advised to come in with no reservation since they anticipated there wouldn't be any competition for the time slot I wanted - the very last tour. They were accurate, as we were basically the only people there when we checked in early. Funnily enough, there were some last minute stragglers who came late to the tour and we ended up being a sizable group. The tour first takes you through a historical jungle environment, where you watch a video and learn about the discovery of cacao, and its different bean types around the world. They have a cacao husk and other items to touch and pass along, so bring your hand sanitizer. You're then led through some rooms with artefacts from the past (my memory is fuzzy here because I got a little bored) - there were random English interior decor, and then primitive versions of machines that helped to process chocolate. After that, you're led into a wonderful smelling room of points of interest and busts made entirely of chocolate. After that, they talk a little more about where they source their chocolate, talk you through the chocolate sample flavors, then give you the bite-sized pieces of chocolate and a mini cup of hot chocolate. Overall, this is a cute stop for chocolate lovers. I enjoyed how our guide made a bunch of jokes throughout the tour. I thought their selection of dessert wine was unique, and they offer samples on request. I wanted to buy more chocolate, but the prices were quite higher than expected, coming from someone who's used to one of the highest cost of living areas. The small piece of chocolate I did purchase was disappointing, and tasted like an overly sweet and creamy Kit Kat bar.

Fun walk down the history of chocolate and chocolate making... Did you know that chocolate's modern day origins are not from the Ivory Coast but Central and South America? I didn't either until we went on this fun. 45 minute tour that included histories, a storyteller, chocolate sculptures and a tasting at the end which included PURE hot chocolate (yum!) Well worth the fee and experience. Prepare to pay for the chocolates at the end - they're all limited batches that are mostly hand-made so the pricing reflects that. Your taste buds will thank you for the added cost!

Chocolate sculpture! This was a really surprising find of about an hour long activity. The museum and chocolate shop is nestled in a small Shopping plaza. This is suitable for people of all ages. The tours include tasty samples at the end. Our tour guide today, Dave, hosted us with a relaxed, funny, and very interesting manor. He spoke of the history of chocolate and was very knowledgeable. At the end, we of course had to buy some chocolates. Sooo good! Definitely a fun activity to do.

I am always on the hunt for a good hot chocolate, and this place did not disappoint. I got the dark hot chocolate and it was very good- sweet, creamy, and a little bit nutty. It was $6 and totally worth it. We also got the chocolate trilogy, which was 3 layers of chocolate and cake. Surprisingly light and yummy. The service was excellent, the servers were very polite and cleared our dishes very quickly.

Super yummy place! My husband and I got a hot chocolate and pastry, very good especially if you are a chocolate lover. The pastry was so chocolatey and not dry at all. Servers are friendly. Lots of indoor seating. Wasn't too crowded when we went people just pop in to get something.

Our family took the tour (3 kids, 4 adults) and found it very informative. The chocolate samples were delicious. Even my husband who is allergic to chocolate found some delicious treats he could enjoy. Our tour guide, Dave, was great. He was amusing and interacted with the children, adding to their experience.

Scraped clean hazelnut mousse, tiramisu, and hot chocolate. Too good to waste even a tiny bite.

A very entertaining and informative experience! Dave was an amazing and engaging guide cracking jokes while serving facts. A wonderful experience for all ages to take something away from. The samples were delightful and the desserts for sale were unforgettable. HIGHLY recommend the hot chocolate, not your standard hot coco in the slightest, as well as the hazelnut mousse and tiramisu. The staff are extremely kind and the atmosphere is very cozy and clean. A wonderful place to chat and savor every bite/sip.

We've had the Chocolate Museum & Cafe on our list of places to visit for a while and we finally checked it off our list. The place has a small cafe+confectionery shop on the outside and the museum's located behind it. The people at the cafe were friendly and polite. The tour was fun and our guide, Dave was amazing! He blended history with humor and provided a lot of insight into the history of chocolate as well as the technology and craft behind the chocolate bars as we know them today. The tour is about 45 minutes to an hour long and there are some beautiful chocolate sculptures on display inside the museum. They also have some of the chocolate making equipments on display as well. At the end of the tour, they offer samples of the chocolate and confectionery that they sell at the cafe. It was an afternoon well spent. Oh, and the hot cocoa they serve at the cafe is delicious! We would recommend the place for a casual afternoon date or if you're looking for something different to do in this town otherwise known for its theme parks.

Chocolate and the history of chocolate can all be covered in chocolate and that's exactly what makes it so sweet! It's basically a tour you look at a bunch of different chocolate related items watch a short film see some really cool chocolate structures and then get some samples nothing too crazy but nothing amazing too it was more for the history of it if anything. They also have a cafe inside we didn't order anything as we just came for the tour but if you're hungry then they have you covered. Overall this was fun but I wouldn't do it again and I'd definitely recommend not bringing kids as they weren't into it at least the ones in our group didn't seem to care at all.

We found this place because of a Groupon deal. We bought the wine and chocolate pairing that included the museum tour. The museum tour was amazing. It starts every hour on the hour. We arrived at around 1:15 and it was pretty dead so we did the wine and chocolate pairing first close to 2 pm a bunch of people started showing up. Our tour guide was amazing. He was extremely knowledgeable about all things chocolate and extremely engaging. He answered all kinds of questions. The chocolate samples at the end of the museum tour were amazing. My favorite was the pistachio. Too bad the actual chocolate bars were over $10 each for what was basically a large Hershey bar size. I would not recommend the wine and chocolate pairing. All of the wines were sweet and obviously all of the chocolates were sweet, so it did not make for a good pairing. I've been to plenty of wine or whiskey pairings with sweet items in the past. Good pairings cause the alcohol flavor to change because of the food item. This was not the case here. The wine tasted the same before and after the chocolate. If you have visitors in town, the museum tour is definitely worth the visit.

One of them happened to be the mess fest that was going on this past weekend. So we decided to head out to Orlando and let me tell you it was so much fun!! They transformed one of their rooms into a fun place for the kids to get messy. You were catapulting scrunchie balls covered in paint onto a canvas sheet. There was another area where they were doing little bottle rockets with paint and Alka-Seltzer. That my kids absolutely LOVED. They also had scribble bots, a raffle painting for canvas paintings but that's not all because they had other stuff going on different floors. We got to make our own slime and we even got to go outside and watch them use liquid nitrogen to cause a bubbly explosion that the kids got to play afterwards. This was a 10 out of 10 experience.

It was part of my Go City Explorer pass, which is a good deal if you want to hit up multiple random attractions and don't have a good idea of what to do. It's also slightly cheaper on Groupon if you're not from the area and want to buy individually. Parking is free in Icon Park's garage floors 4-7. It's an easy walk to the elevators to go down with a bunch of other tourists to walk through the park to near the center, where the Museum of Illusions is located. Along the way, you can get a nice photo op with the ferris wheel in the background. Once you walk in, you present your entry at the counter, and can begin walking through the exhibits on the left (the right side behind the counter is where you'll be exiting, beyond the few racks of merchandise). The walkthrough is pretty short - most of the wait is basically waiting on other people to clear out so you can take your own photos. We did everything in 45 minutes. There's not too much text to read, but sufficient enough for a basic understanding of how the illusions work. There are supposed to be a couple of guides waiting around to assist with photo-taking, but they were concentrated in one area, so for the most part it felt like we had to help ourselves. My favorite exhibits were the head on a platter, Ames room, and cloning table. Everything is still obviously a trick if you take another look at the photos. The reversed room could have been neat, but it doesn't account for gravity pull on fabric, so it only works if you have a shaved head and are wearing skin-tight clothes. The vortex tunnel is not too impressive - just more of an in-person dizzy balancing experience. The infinity room is pretty neat, though awkward when you're behind the camera. The entire experience would be a lot better if there were sensors that took photos for you, since taking the photo yourself negates some of the "magic" in the pictures. I also think they need better instructions for some rooms, since it sometimes took a few minutes to figure out what I should be looking at or doing. For a one-time experience, it's alright.
