This was my second time eating here at Big Town Hero. It's in the food court of the Heritage Mall in Albany. We did not eat in the food court however, we brought our food back to the RC race track. This time I got the Italian with ham, Italian salami, pepperoni, and provolone cheese . It was super cheesy but bacon would have made it better. The bread was cheesy garlic and fresher than subway. It was so soft and melt in your mouth buttery. No burnt pieces on the bread. The salami was slightly spicy but not too spicy. The Best part was the meat did not get stuck in my teeth. Toya got the very berry turkey. They put more than enough cream cheese, and it's the perfect mix of turkey and cranberry ratio. Hailey Jo got the veggie minus the pickles and added cranberry sauce. She really liked it and liked that there was such a variety of cheeses on it. We all got the same bread and it was all of our favorite part of the sandwich. Our family also really like this shop because the prices are very reasonable. The sandwich prices are good size for your money. You can get a mini sub for $4, a medium sub for $7 that is easily shareable for two people, and there is also a large size sub. The kids meals are very reasonable as well. Called three times over a period of 30 minutes to put in an order tonight with no answer. Drove in to order and my mom had try three times to get the attention of the girl working. The other location closes at 5 pm, (which is crazy), so we had to go to this one. I wish we didn't make a big town hero commitment because I really did not want to give them my money after that. read more

When deciding where to have lunch this weekend we decided that we didn't want to deal with any baloney over people not supporting wearing masks. Knowing that this business is supportive of people wearing masks and requires it of their customers we decided to go here. We weren't disappointed. Watching some anti mask man-child be forced to wear a mask to order was a bit of entertainment with our meal. And the panini and soup I had and my husband's large sub tasted great as well. This Big Town Hero is located inside the Heritage Mall. It's fast food, so there's nothing spectacular about it, but it's definitely good. I like the fact that the employees are really great. That's what stands out the most to me. The kid who took my order when I was here with my husband was friendly, helpful, answered our questions. I didn't read the menu too in-depth, so I ended up asking fairly silly questions. He was totally patient with that, as I didn't have my glasses on, so reading much was difficult for me. He pointed out where things were on the menu, and was totally patient with me. I appreciated that, especially when everything I asked was really right in front of me. The food was pretty good. My husband and I were both starving by the time we got here, so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it. But it was good. I had the turkey, bacon and avocado sandwich, and I think my husband had something to do with salami or cold cuts. I don't remember exactly what he had. The avocado on mine was a really good amount, and the bacon was cooked perfectly. It is a place I would return to again, when I am in the area. Wonderful staff that remembers your name and orders! Makes you feel welcomed and like you're visiting an old hang out or something. I personally love the hot roast beef. In the very early morning when they open they put a bag of the old bread from the day before out for anyone to take. The probably is you got to get there before this women who ALWAYS takes it to give to 'poor ppl' she says. Really? Been eating here for I don't know how many years now. But as long as the purple haired older lady works here I'm done. My wife and I came in for a sandwich, 2 drinks and some chips. The lady instantly had an attitude and acted annoyed to take my order. After I ordered my wife's sandwich while I was looking at the menu she says anything else in an annoyed tone. So I finished my order and she only gave me one drink cup. I said I need another one of those please, to which she spun around grabbed another and slammed it on the counter. My wife gives me a look so now I know it's not just me. I said thank you to which she didn't reply at all and just told me my price. I paid and again got the silent treatment as I said thank you again. Once we were done the woman behind me came up to order and she was sweet as pie to her. worst customer service I've ever experience. Always loved going here. food was great and so was the staff until recently. Ordered food from door dash and the food came all wrong. wrong sandwiches, wrong sizes. not one sandwich was right. No biggie, let's just get it straightened out. So I call and explain what's wrong and ask if I bring the sandwiches in with my receipt, if they will remake them..she asks what the name was on the order so I tell her and she almost immediately says no, I watched your order, it was exactly as you ordered it and tells me that there is no way they gave me a mini instead of a regular. She literally used the word liar. I was floored. I hadn't been rude in anyway and I wasn't trying to get anything for free, just trying to get what I paid for. At the point of her calling me a liar I said I'll just come there with the sandwiches untouched and show you, she said no about four times and told me to not come in at all, and that if I did she wouldn't talk to me. Luckily door dash took one look at the picture I submitted on the help page and gave me a full refund. But it wasn't really their fault. read more

Fresh but fluffy bread, processed cheese, too much cream cheese, and far too few cucumbers on the Cream Cheese Cucumber sandwich. A few more vegetarian options than Subway but it is what it is: a bland, fast food meal that's only slightly healthier than burgers. read more

This place makes the best sandwich in town! The employees are always friendly and work diligently to get my food out quickly. The bread/veggies are always fresh and they give you a generous portion of meat. My favorite thing to eat here is the Classic club or Italiono panini. I have had decent experiences with this chain at other locations, so I went here a couple days ago expecting the same. I was looking forward to a nice, loaded sandwich (especially for what they're priced at) & was very disappointed that what I got instead. It seems like they used the bare minimum; there was very little turkey, which didn't taste very good to begin with; I could hardly tell that there was avocado spread on it; & there were only one or two small pieces of bacon. Overall, the sandwich was more bread than anything. If I wanted to spend $6 for a big piece of bread I would have saved my money & bought a loaf from the grocery store. As convenient & quick as this stop was, I won't be eating at this location again. read more
