I would give 0 stars if I could. From the moment the crew arrived, it seemed like they had no interest in actually doing the job they were hired for. They moved extremely slowly, spent a significant amount of time standing around, and appeared completely disinterested in working. Before any work even began, one employee asked to use the bathroom, another had my husband sign paperwork, and then the entire crew went outside and informed us they needed to call a manager because they "might not be able to do the move." This was especially frustrating because we had clearly stated MULTIPLE TIMES before moving day that they were only moving furniture and packed boxes. Despite this, they repeatedly complained about "loose items" throughout the process, even after being told over and over that we were handling those items ourselves and only needed the furniture and boxes moved. We were told a manager would arrive in 15 minutes. Instead, we waited around 30 minutes while nothing got done. When the manager finally arrived, he moved just as slowly as the rest of the crew and immediately started focusing on the same "loose items" issue that had already been addressed numerous times. The situation became even more frustrating when the manager implied work would begin shortly, only for the story to suddenly change again to them being unable to do the move at all after he called another manager. What followed was more arguing about loose items rather than any effort to complete the job they were hired to perform. I have never seen or heard of a moving company refuse to move furniture and packed boxes when that is literally the service they were contracted to provide. The entire experience was unprofessional, disorganized, and a complete waste of our time. To make matters worse, we are still waiting on the refund that the owner stated we would receive. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for reliable movers. *Edited to add - One of your guys claimed there was a litter box odor. Interestingly enough there are no animals. All we could smell when your crew entered the door was rank cigarettes which I'm sure most people don't want that smell being transferred to their belongings as second hand smoke is a health risk that literally can cause cancer. We watched the crew stand around and chain smoke while awaiting the manager so I'm sure the next persons belongings smelled lovely after that. Loose items were actively being taken care of as we told your crew several times that we were handing and we did. Your company failed to do its part and move the BOXES and FURNITURE that were EASILY accessible throughout the apartment. Looks like there's another review that had the same issues. Quit trying to blame each customer that had a negative experience with your company. You obviously have several issues to be sorted out and your pointing fingers at people paying you to do a job is not a good look. read more

I recently got On the Fly Moving to help me move my 1-bed apartment from Richmond to Henrico. The movers were very respectful about my items and made sure to strap them down once they were in the truck. They worked very efficiently especially moving items up 3 floors on an 85-degree day. The quote was quite accurate(even though I helped just a bit). There was a two-hour minium, even though it only took 1 hr 45mins to load, drive, and unload all of my items to the new apartment. I acquired these movers to help empty my first floor. When I booked, and when they called back to confirm everything. The person said they will have all the pads and straps to deal with the job. When they showed up. They told me I could RENT the pads and straps. Which I felt a little bait ans switched, but I said ok "you've got a $50.00 budget do what you need. If you need more just ask me." I was in the space with them the entire time. They never asked for more to add more.pads. When I called today and reported damage. They said that piece was a piece they put in the container unprotected, and b/c I wouldnt let them have any more pads, that it was my fault and they weren't going to do anything about it. To make it worse their Operations Manager Jameson was part of the first move, the one that made this decision, and the one who is delivering this message to me. I thought given his position in the company I could trust he would do an adequate job of protecting my stuff. The guys who did the work were great. Jessica in sales has been great. Hired for packing and unpacking, didn't finish the job in the first day came next day of move without enough boxes and broke our new tv. They overlooked and left one closet completely unpacked and 7 boxes in another after they were finished. Ran so late they did not unpack as hired. Owner discounted the charge for the cost of the broken TV, did not replace or give cash and gave no discount for the unpacking not completed or the horrible job! My husband and I had a great experience, and I can't say enough good things about them! Joseph was my main contact from my first phone call. On the move day, the guys SHOWED UP ON TIME! Joseph also sent 4 guys, and that's including himself. All 4 (Joseph, Jordan, Tyler, and Connor) were polite, respectful, and careful with all of my things. They made sure to cover my front door frame with padding so it wouldn't get damaged. They also took apart my dining room table, and beds & put them back together at the new house. Furniture, big pictures, and anything else I asked of them were wrapped securely. The team moved me in only 6 hours. As a reference point: The first house is 2200 sq ft; the house they moved me to is 2600 sq ft. Both houses are two stories with a basement, 3 bedrooms, & 2 1/2 bathrooms. They claimed to have called us and came by our house to see the items in our home to move but they did not. They were full of excuses and lies and put us in a real bind 3 days before our move. I recommend these movers, they were reliable and honest, worked hard and didn't waste time or drag their feet. Overall they knew what they were doing. The leader was good about coaching the other two when they weren't being careful enough or needed to improve their technique. We were in a very tight spot and needed to find a moving company with less than two week's notice. On the fly not only were able to accommodate us, but did a great job from start to finish. The team arrived on time and formulated a strategy for moving us out of our home of 25+ years. The process wasn't easy with so much to move, but the team was positive and determined and got us moved in a reasonable amount of time. Very satisfied! I hired four moving guys through Moving Staffers. They contracted this company. My movers, all young college guys, were fast, super polite, and took extreme care in making sure they didn't hit walls or damage furniture. Everything was taken apart carefully, taking care to put screws back where it could be put together right, wrapped up, and secured. Didnt charge for my stop at the Storage unit to drop off a few things. No extra charge for padding material like other companies do. I hired this company to move me and I am very, very sorry that I did. I had to hire another company to help me move boxes and furniture in order to get my rugs on the floor. Furniture, boxes, and rugs were stack haphazardly with the rugs on top. A few broken, damaged, and lost items for which the company declined to take responsibility. read more

We recently used On the Fly to help us unload a UHaul truck that we had driven from Michigan. The 2 gentlemen arrived about 20 minutes early and got to work immediately. They were quick, efficient, polite and quite strong! We got several quotes from local companies that were about 3 times the price. We were skeptical about using the least expensive company, as we believe sometimes you get what you pay for. We were also skeptical because they only had one review.
