    Cabins

I cannot rave about this quaint place enough. Only stayed one night as we travelled from Yellowstone to Glacier Park because I wanted to see Flathead Lake but I would have loved to stay longer Our cabin was huge inside....I really did not expect that with not only a large bathroom but a jacuzzi tub in our bedroom, a living room area and small kitchen area. Everything we needed Staff were really helpful and the property is lovely and in a perfect location This was the lowest priced hotel we stayed in on our whole trip but definitely my favorite Would recommend to friends and family for sure

    Mother's Day brunch

I went to brunch here on Mother's day with my family. The set up was nice. It had a pretty good layout. However, they could not make a bloody mary to save their life. Horrible. The food was good and yet there were not a lot of people there and they ran out of things and it took at least 15-20 min to restock the buffet line. I do not understand that. Logistics are messed up and the back of the house is not coordinating and communication lacks. My niece spilled my coffee on me and someone from a table near me came running over with napkins. The staff never came and helped clean it up and I was there for at least another 20 minutes so there was a mess in front of me of darkened soggy napkins and my coffee was never refilled. In conclusion I would have to say the service lacked and the front and back of the house really need to get their stuff together. I will visit again and hope that the next time is better... The food was decent not stupendous be any means. I have to say if you are looking for a Sunday brunch this is as close as you will get to anything decent and that is sad especially for the price.... Need to get the back and front of the house fixed and the food needs to never run out....

    Stained bed

Was staying one night with a friend as we had two days fishing planned. We arrived in time to catch the restaurant, 830pm or so. After we ate, went to get into our room. Dark outside and light off outside our room, Keys didn't work. Called the manager. They instructed us to return to the front to get a master key. Did that. Still didn't open the door. Went back and got all the master keys and one worked. We got into our room and it was a couples sweet. My friend and I booked a place with separate rooms, as we are not a couple. Decided it was too late to cause more fuss, so I pulled out the broken pull out bed. Looking for sheets, I discovered a couple stains on a couple blankets. We went in the hot tub, came back to the room where at 1130pm we were called to be informed we were in the wrong room. You don't say? As if we had something to do with it. Then someone showed up to tell us. I asked if our room was empty so my friend and I could have our own space, and they gave me the keys. Went to my room only to fall asleep to the sound of a smoke alarm going off nearby all night. I have video recording of it the next morning. The next day I asked for a free stay or small discount, anything really, just to show they understood they near totally ruined the one night away we had from work and family. I am not one to go out of my way to cause a fuss. Unless it's bad. Next day I got a voicemail with some fella telling me I must have had a bad dream, there was no alarm, and we already got our free room- my buddy stayed in it. Can you believe that? I just wanted them to show they understood, a simple few bucks back or few bucks off the next stay. Some way to run a business.

We…read moreopted to go for the adult only retreat as our youngest child (the only one left) had no desire to go and if we weren't taking our kid we certainly didn't want to deal with anyone else's. Going into this trip I didn't know much, other than they had horses and that was what I wanted to do - ride horses. We arrived really early in the morning and was picked up at the airport, which was the size of a postage stamp. It was really easy to find our person, who grabbed our bags and loaded them into the trailer while we sat in the van. Met some others that were on the trip on the way to the lodge. Upon arrival they had a tent setup in the front where they greeted us, gave us a bag with a map of the property and list of that week's activities, told us our rooms weren't ready yet but they would find us when they were. Now - I'm going to note that they said they would find us when our room was ready and I didn't think they really would. We continued to check in to see when the room would be ready, but then later I saw them literally hunting someone down to give her keys - so they will indeed find you. When we checked in the room was a standard lodge room, we had a fridge but our friends didn't, in mentioning this in passing to the staff they brought them a fridge. Talk about service! We spent the next four days riding horses mostly, but also enjoying the company of the other guests and hearing stories from the staff. While we were really heavy on the horse rides we also enjoyed taking a tour of the elk preserve and clay sporting. We got a ride up to the yoga spot for a view (weren't too keen on hiking up there) and spent a good amount of time in the bar with fellow guests chatting up the staff. Everyone was amazing and so accommodating- I had said it was a bucket list trip but the staff at the Averill ranch has me seriously considering returning next year. Thank you for the memories.

So, we spent a few nights here 1 1/2 years ago and we felt very unwelcome. I had emailed with the owners before making our reservations to make sure they could accommodate our food preferences, and they said they could. We booked the nicest, most expensive room and were looking forward to our stay. Upon arrival, the summer host ( I don't recall his name) really killed our joy. We introduced ourselves, and since my name is not common, I said a little helper tip for him to pronounce it, to which he replied, "I'm not even going to try" and then he just talked to my husband. He then asked if in addition to our food preferences we had "any other crazy requests". Wow, we spent $1400 and within 2 minutes of arrival this guy totally dismissed us. Everything after that was dim. We absolutely would not return, nor would I recommend this place to others.

This…read moreis in no way a place where your room has a lovely view of the lake or access to it unless you try crossing the highway and into private properties. Parking is limited and one night upon our return there was no space. Getting to your room is a small sidewalk that is highly in needed of trimming to actually walk through without being smacked in the face. WiFi was terrible with one bar service. The room (Bali) was spacious but the functionality of it could be so much better. Get rid of the dusty plastic plants and put in some end tables or extra seating. Put a large mirror outside the one bathroom to allow guests to get ready when bathroom is in use. The bathroom was huge but it had a pedestal sink that offered no room for toiletries or hot tools. Plenty of space to add a larger sink, even a dresser. The mirror was useless and the size of a small plate. The bathroom mat was old and soaking wet when we arrived and during our stay the toilet clogged and must be common because a plunger was provided but didn't work well. Not fun things to deal with as a mom on vacation. The fans and windows were caked in dust. I'm always looking for stray socks when we leave and under the couch was full of things you wish you didn't see. I did like the chairs outside and the sauna was interesting but small and I never felt comfortable enough to join when it was in use. Also it had no instructions on how to use it. Service was nonexistent. No office area or help. Not sure how long I would have waited if the toilet didn't unclog after my 10 minutes of trying or where our family would have had another facility to use in the meantime. As for the rooms having different themes-Montana is special and this area especially close to Glacier National Park-why not celebrate that uniqueness and beauty and have the decor match it with local art or cabin feel? People travel from all over to come here, not to see a room decorated like Bali because that certainly wasn't it, but to feel like Montana. There is potential here with a correct price point and frankness about lake access and view, but I'm never staying here again.
