We are staying at Biggers for a wedding and had to try the restaurant of the bed and breakfast. We had dinner and it was great. I had the New York strip and my fiancé had the Seabass. It was so much food so we've got good leftovers for later. Our server Julie was the best. We had a ton of questions about the area and she answered all of them without a problem. What a great place!! Been here many times and have been disappointed. The view from the dining room is awesome (better in the summer with more daylight). Next, the rear deck!! Just stunning. Again, better in spring/summer with more daylight, but I love on fall/winter because you can see ALL of the stars!! And I haven't gotten to the food yet!! Started out with the spicy cheese curds (my favorite) that have a nice heat kick (normal cheese curds are also available) is big enough for a table of four (or for one if you really hungry). Ordered the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo that comes with bacon and broccoli...so good!! Had shaved parmesan cheese (not packaged dried flakes), and Alfredo was fresh and creamy!! And it is a HUGE portion€ My pre-meal salad was fresh garden greens with salad dressing on the side (love this so I can put the amount I want). The service...we LOVE Megan, but can also say that all of the servers are amazing!! Of course, I couldn't eat it all!!! read more

We have stayed before and LOVED it. This trip not as much. It took nearly twenty minutes to find someone to check us in. Our room was located above the restaurant. Upstairs was sweltering hot. However, there were new mini-splits in the rooms, and they worked great. Think Antarctica in the room, walk out to the Sahara in the hall. When we were seated for supper, our waitress immediately took our drink orders. She came back within five minutes to give us water while we waited for our drinks. Another five minutes passed, and my drink was brought out (we ordered an appetizer of spinach dip, and it was okay). I finished my drink in about ten minutes, when my husband's finally arrived (at which point we ordered our entrees). He took a sip of his drink and made a face. I suggested stirring it some. He did. It didn't help. When our entrees arrived, he asked the waitress to take the lemonade back and told her it wasn't good (he waited 25 minutes for the drink that was on special). She apologized, and offered to bring him an new drink. He ordered a beer, and that took another 5 minutes. His pork chops were amazing. My garlic herb shrimp was only so so. The waitress offered to get him a free round instead of deleting the charge of the lemonade. When the final bill came he couldn't tell it had been removed. We went back upstairs. The mattress was not comfortable, but the sheets and pillows were great. The tub wouldn't drain when showering. All in all, it was just an okay stay. I hope this review will encourage to tighten up in a few areas. They worked hard and we're very busy. read more

We had a great time and would recommend the Inn and the restaurant. The only reason for 4 stars instead if 5 is that its not really a B & B. Ive seem some compare to a motel but thats not fair either. I guess I would call it a lodge. The restaurant appears to have been a house but has been well renovated and added on to for the restaurant. The lodge part is all new and yes is similar to a motel at least in how you get to your room. We ate at the restaurant twice and loved everything both times. All the rooms have cool names but im not sure why because at least our room didnt have anything to justify the exotic designation. In fact it was a bit barren of any decorations. Dont expect to stay in an upstairs bedroom sourounded by Aunt Flos oil lamps. Thats not what this is. Overall we enjoyed it. read more

Had a death in the family and my sisters and brother came from Texas for the funeral and stayed at Biggers Bed and Breakfast and they were treated like royalty !! The family gathered on Friday evening at the dining room and all 14 of my family that came in from Iowa and Texas enjoyed a Delicious meal!!! Service was Excellent!! Steaks were cooked to perfection and the pasta was perfect!!! They plan to come back in the future and will stay at Biggers Bed and Breakfast Again!!! We wanted to stay in this room and had 2 Chihuahua Service Dogs with us. But the owner of this settlement said that he would not settle us as we are with dogs! First time to stay here & I loved it. We stayed in the Eagle room which has all the amenities- jacuzzi tub, fireplace, refrigerator & a balcony with an awesome view of the mountains & the Spring River. While it's more like a hotel rather than a traditional B & B, it was a nice getaway. We stayed in the building detached from where you check-in, so I can't speak for the main house. We were given slips of paper the night before to build your own omelette for the morning. When we walked into breakfast, they confirmed our names/room & ta-da ...breakfast was served: omelettes, toast, coffee & juice. The dining area overlooks the mountains. The only things I will say is the bed was pretty firm. There's also a pool & hot tub outside our room & it was being enjoyed by several. We came here with friends who have been coming here for years & they said they've never seen anyone using the hot tub. Thanks to Emily for all of her hard work! read more

Okay- some folks would say "we can't afford to stay at B&B's" - but wait! Compare this to any chain hotels on the interstate and I think you will agree that for the quality of the service,food and accommodations you are getting way more for your stay. The on-site restaurant Bluff Steakhouse would be enough for a travel stop with great food and staff. Together, they make the perfect getaway or stop along the way. We will be back. read more

Rude is an understatement. Never will go back. The bed and breakfast was awful. When we got to the restaurant we were offered leftovers that were mere crumbs and were charged for it even though it was a hard pass. We went to another restaurant and were actually treated with some dignity and were given the attention that any paying customers should receive. I will never go back there and you should avoid it at all costs. The bedrooms are not insulated between and the walls are so thin that you can hear other people doing what they do. Glad the other guy could sleep with snoring so loud I thought I was in a logging site. Didn't sleep hardly a wink until he went to breakfast at 7am and I got about an hour to and hour in a half. By the time I got there the food was nasty and picked over. Then the owner said I need to apologize to the guy for waking him. She takes no responsibility for how crappy her ethics are. Thought it was going to be a cool place to go but was I ever wrong. Hope this helps someone save their money and go to a place that is actually run by nice people. read more

Such a cool place. Booked a quaint room, enjoyed a drink by the pool, took amazing scenic selfies at the gazebo, had a great (!) dinner at the restaurant, enjoyed wonderful hospitality, and then were just minutes from our outfitter the next morning. Great trip!! read more

This is our first time staying in a B&B and we have to say that we very much enjoyed it. We stayed in the River Vista. The room was large and comfy. The bed was a bit firm but I slept well so that's not an issue for me. The steps getting to our room were a bit steep but I have a pulled muscle so that may be more of an issue for me than other people. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had freedom to come and go as we wished and were given a key to the front door in case it was after hours. The pool was nice and water temp very comfortable. We intended on swimming but decided to relax in our suite instead but the staff let us know that we could go to the pool whenever we wanted. Breakfast was really good. We were informed the day before that there would be omlettes and given a paper for us to choose what toppings we would like. When we went to the dining room we were greeted and told to help ourselves to coffee and juice. There were also grapes and strawberries as well. Our breakfast was prepared and brought out and were delicious. There was a variety of different locally made jellies that were fun to try. Very nice place to celebrate our anniversary, the scenery with flowers, swing, gazebo and the overlook added a beauty to the experience. I recommend you stay here you will not be disappointed. read more

I have eaten here once or twice a year for the past 17 years. We had our New Year's eve dinner with my mother in law today. Always nice and always has fun waitresses. Biggers has well kept grounds and an unbeatable view. Tonight the sunset was spectacular. The food has good portions and good prices. And is definitely one of the best restaurants in the area. read more

A short trip away from Memphis and well worth it! We stayed one night and overall were happy with our stay. The view from our room was excellent as well as the hospitality of the staff, very nice folks! Had dinner at the attached restaurant and dinner was pretty good. Only complaint was the sweet potato was more warm than hot but still not too bad. The breakfast was really good, see the attached photos for a good representation. We stayed in the main house closest to the overlook which had the best view. Price was reasonable and tbh it kinda felt like we were staying at my grandparents with the appearance and feel of the room. The room was fine but myself and my date weren't exactly happy about the firm mattress. I probably would give this place a 5 if they had a good mattress and almost gave a 3 just because I woke up with a sore back but everything else was so solid it deserved a 4. Would recommend for a quick getaway. read more

If you like seeing how a restaurant SHOULD NOT be run, you need to visit Biggers Bed and Breakfast. This is a long post and I apoligize, but I want readers to understand how inept and mismanaged this restaurant is. On 6/28/18, about 5:40pm, me and another family member arrived, and we were seated right away. Shortly thereafter our drink orders were taken, so far, so good. Drinks delivered, and the waitress then took our order and left. No waitress for 40 minutes and then she came by to refill drinks which took another 15 minutes. By the way, there were only nine other patrons in the restaurant. At 7:00pm, a waitress delivered my mom's dinner, but not mine. A few minutes later, another waitress arrived and delivered MY dinner to the table across from us, along with the rest of their order. I signaled the waitress that the steak plate she was delivering to their table was mine, but she placed it on their table anyway. The guy at the table started cutting it up and then said to the waitress that the steak was smaller than what he ordered. The waitress said ok, and that he would be charged for the smaller cut instead. Meanwhile I'm still trying to get her attention and she walked away. A few minutes later she returns and finally acknowledges that she gave my meal to the other table. Yea...ya think? Meanwhile, my mother looks at her order: Mahi Mahi with a baked potato. Sounds simple right? I guess not to the chef at Biggers it seems: the fish is overcooked, bland, and tasteless. The potato is undercooked, and drowning in sour cream. Disappointed with her dinner we waited for my steak. It finally arrives 15 minutes later, and its not what I ordered at all. The baked potato is under a huge layer of sour cream when all I ordered was bacon and butter on it. The steak was ordered with mushrooms and onions on the side, and the steak I got was fully SMOTHERED with mushrooms and onions. Hey, I'm an easygoing guy, don't complain much, but for the prices that Biggers charges, I had enough of their inability to get anything right. Frustrated, I told the waitress that my order was totally unacceptable, requested the check, and also to speak with the manager. About five minutes later, another waitress came and snatched our dinner plates off the table without a word and disappeared. We sat for several more awkward minutes, and then Valerie Bathrick, the owner of the restaurant appeared. She put my dinner order down on the table in front of me with a loud "clunk" and asked me point-blank what was the matter with my dinner. No "hello", no "sorry about the screw up" or any other apology or effort to make a bad situation right. I repeated to her what was wrong with the meal and then she picks up the plate and without a word, walks away. I'm floored and seriously can't believe that customer service has sunk to this level after hearing mostly good reviews about this restaurant. Finally, a waitress arrives with the check, apologises for the whole fiasco (the only person to do so) and leaves. We didn't ask for any comps, and paid full price for mom's dinner and the drinks we had. In the end, all we had experienced was two hours of disappointing service, bad food, and being marginalized by the owner. We left and ended up getting steaks from the grocery store and grilling at home. To sum it up, we were really disappointed with this restaurant and will never recommend it to anyone or go back again. If this is the way Biggers is run on a daily basis, I find it incredible that its still in business. read more
