What a beautiful suite (room20) The decor was inviting and whooo hooo a spa too. This place was the best spot to spend our 3rd Anniversary!! Friendly staff and charming town.

    Old school Cool!

Upon arriving we were Greeted by the on-site manager, a woman who is well traveled. A manager that understands sometimes, You will meet decent people along the way, Who's gathered her own stories from the road and has somehow adapted those experiences into the way she runs this motel.... Spectacularly!!!!!!!! I totally felt safe here as the have modern security video feeds, an on-site manager. Not to mention the continental breakfast w/ some of the freshest eggs and bagel I've had. The rooms are old school with modern accommodations, They're clean and well kept. Word of advice don't lose your key!!!! Ms. Jones is a totally a customer oriented manager! Nice to see that some places like this have survived the blazing speeds of modern society, This is one of those places you come to sit on the porch an watch time pass bye!!! Ms Norma Jones, seriously you should write a book! God bless take care and thanks for loving the Cottonwood Inn as much as you do it preserves it for people like me and people who love history.

Clean room. Firm bed without feeling like you were sleeping on a slab. Bathrooms had an exhaust fan which is always nice.

Hampton Inn Batesville - Guest room

I stayed at the Hampton Inn by Hilton in Batesville, Arkansas, for two nights while attending the…read moreannual Cave City Watermelon Festival. Our total after-tax cost was $342, and unfortunately the overall condition of both the hotel and our guest room did not meet the level of quality I expect from the Hilton brand. I actually emailed management during my stay with detailed photos and a list of concerns because, as a hotel general manager myself, I believe issues should be brought directly to management first so they have an opportunity to address them. As of writing this review, I have not received a response. The staff members we interacted with were friendly and courteous, which I appreciate. However, the property's condition and attention to detail were disappointing. In our guest room (Room 410), we found numerous maintenance and cleanliness issues, including: * Wallpaper peeling from the walls in multiple locations * Shoe prints and dirt marks on the ceiling * Handprints and smudges on the walls * Greasy fingerprints on the entry door and headboard * Black mold visible inside the HVAC supply vents * Hair, dirt, and debris collected along the edges of the closet, bathroom, and entryway floors * Scrapes and dents in the drywall near the entrance * A loose toilet seat * Uneven bathroom tile with missing grout * Noticeable carpet stains between the beds and in front of the dresser area The deferred maintenance extended beyond the guest room as well. Wallpaper was peeling in the fourth-floor ice room and around the elevator lobby, giving the hotel a worn appearance. Breakfast was another disappointment. We arrived around 9:38 a.m., just before the end of service. While I understand breakfast was nearing its conclusion and the food that remained tasted good, the dining area was extremely messy. Counters were covered with food debris, empty serving pans remained out, and overall presentation suggested that the area had not been maintained throughout service. Regular tidying would have significantly improved the guest experience. None of these issues alone would have ruined our stay, but collectively they reflected a property that appears to be missing routine preventive maintenance and detailed housekeeping inspections. For the price we paid, I expected a much higher standard. Hampton Inn has built a reputation for consistency, cleanliness, and quality, and this property unfortunately did not reflect those expectations. I hope management takes these concerns seriously, performs a comprehensive room and public-area quality audit, and addresses both the maintenance deficiencies and housekeeping quality control. The employees were welcoming, but the property itself needs significant attention to meet the standards guests expect from the Hilton brand.

However, Spring River Lodge is a nice little oasis. All the staff, and I mean all. Met the front of house folks, the cleaning crew and the breakfast folks. All of them pleasant and friendly. We had probably 20-30 family members staying here and it was a delight. It's not fancy, but there is a nice, clean indoor pool; there's a nice patio out back and a sizeable seating area (typically for breakfast - we took it over anyway). Super clean rooms (I saw, they actually do strip the bed down and wash/replace EVERYTHING), comfortable beds and nice hot showers. What more could you want in little ol' Hardy, AR? Not much methinks. Liquor store across the street and McD's as well for late night munchies (town shuts down around 9PM).

Example: hiring someone as a "Front Desk Receptionist" but demanding, expecting, harassing and brow beating the employee hired for reservations and guest service to put a bell and a sign at the front desk and instead of welcoming all who enter be banished to the laundry room to wash, dry and fold commercial laundry 40 hours a week. And when the receptionist is actually doing her job she was hired to do, take a reservation, the manager is anxiously pacing behind her to hurry her up with the call to get back to the laundry room. The laundry room has broken, outdated faulty appliances. They really should hire a laundry assistant, invest in updated equipment and let the receptionist focus on welcoming the guests. Also there is always a child who comes to work with his grandma and stays her entire shift and even helps her with her chores. Is that even legal? It's unprofessional for sure.
