This is a place I return to multiple times when I visit Ketchum. Their breakfast options are aplenty & delightful. I was a fan of the Galena bowl-eggs, roasted potatoes topped with sautéed shaved brussels sprouts, kale, onion, red pepper mix and farro, as well as the Baldy Power bowl-2 eggs any style topped with fresh mozzarella, tuscan kale, quinoa, fire roasted corn, green onion and roasted red peppers drizzled with generous dollop of basil pesto. The Huevos Rancheros is o-so-delicioso! Their baked goods are such a treat-try the almond croissant. You can purchase loaves of freshly baked breads. Tons of space for outdoor dining and easy to keep your distance for others. You order at the counter, and they'll bring it out to your table. The galena bowl (added chicken sausage) was healthy, filling and delicious. The big breakfast included some delicious pancakes according to one of my dining companions, and the breakfast scramble also looked good. I had a bad case of order envy! My turkey w/ cranberry chutney was pretty darn delicious but not nearly as bomb as The Husband's pesto mozzarella panini!! The salads looked amazing and I'll definitely try one next time we stop through Ketchum. We actually stopped her because we walked by the day before and oggled other people's sandwiches. There is perhaps no nicer setting for a early day meal in the Sun Valley area than the outdoor patio tables at their Northwood location. Being away from the busy streets of central Ketchum, the ambiance is quiet and relaxing. While it can get a bit crowded and hectic around the lunch hour, the patrons are generally modest in number allowing for a peaceful respite from the cares of the day. I especially like their welcoming attitude toward patrons accompanied by their canine companions. As for the food, it is uniformly a quality product with, not surprisingly, their breads excelling. My great disappointment in this area is the removal from their menu of a long-standing favorite, the meatloaf sandwich. I've been attempting to find a new favorite from the menu, but so far nothing matches that wonderful meatloaf offering. But worth repeating have been the Reuben and Club sandwiches also the Cilantro Lime and Asian Chicken Salads. While their sandwiches and salads are among the best in town, their breakfasts, while quite good, don't rise to that same level. But while there may be better offerings of egg dishes elsewhere, they don't come with the delights of that marvelous patio or the ability to share the delightful environs with my pooch. So Bigwood Bread remains my favorite for both lunch and breakfast. read more

If you're lunching here, order wisely. Go for something that takes that extra effort to make and you will not be disappointed! The meatloaf sandwich on Vitagrain or the pulled BBQ chicken, which comes on a challah roll with a most unusual ad delicious slaw! Do NOT miss the Housemade churros! Somehow,, these are crispy and sugary on the outside, without being greasy at all, and retaining the slight creamy interior. They are perfect! My mom favors the granola, which you can buy there as well. Note that the breads are used at many Area restaurants, sold at the grocery stores, etc. cookies and granola as well. I see they are planning on expanding across the street soon. Good thing because word is spreading fast! read more

Bigwood is our favorite restaurant in Sun Valley. We visit the area once a year and we eat lunch or breakfast at Bigwood almost everyday while we're in town. The staff is so friendly and helpful. And, most importantly, the food is delicious. We love the breakfast, bowls, salad and sandwiches. Our very favorite item is the oatmeal cookie! It's great either in the large size from behind the counter or in the smaller package with multiple cookies. read more

The burger was great. I give the 4 stars to the fact that I added the applewood bacon. The crunch of the bacon on top of high quality meat from the grill and the sauce. The sauce was super duper good! In my ongoing search for the top burger in Sun Valley I put them around 4 on the list with a few others still riding the wave at the top. The bread selection is impressive. We like the sourdough sliced loaf. I like the vibe here and the tall ceilings make it feel spacious. I liked this place a lot, we stopped by for breakfast before hitting the road after a weekend up in the mountains. The menu is extensive for both breakfast and lunch. Breakfast options including three different bowls with kale, quinoa, brussels sprouts, etc. I went a little less healthy than all that with a bacon breakfast sandwich on a buttery croissant which did not let me down. I have been coming here for 3 years and have never been disappointed. The bagel breakfast sandwiches are my favorite with jalapeño cream cheese. I have been here twice recently. Both times it has been packed!! The first time I was here last week I had nothing to complain about (food, service, etc.), the second time the food was delicious but the service was lacking. The woman who took our order was very rude and messed up the order. She did not apologize and blamed it on us. Everyone else was so friendly!! I think it was just one bad one out of all of them. Had a horrible experience here. Came in and ordered a bowl of soup to go. It was pretty crowded at the time. Well 25 min later, I am still waiting, and when they apologize to another couple and ask their name since they had been waiting (but only about 15 min.) so I spoke up and said I was still waiting for just a bowl of soup. the gal brought it out a few min later, practically threw it at me, no apology, and clearly irritated at me for asking for it. Got it home and it was not even warm, and seemed to be the bottom of the pot. $8 for a very very small container of soup that wasn't even worth eating. Such a disappointment. I know their food is usually good, but not this time. Just a simple apology would have made me feel better, but I guess they do such a great business that customer service doesn't matter. read more

Bigwood Bread WAS one of the best lunch places in town... Now it's over priced with HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! Egg salad sandwich is 7.50, for egg salad!!! Really! Also the staff can't find their way out of a paper bag. On average it takes them 10 minutes to make a coffee. For years I went here almost everyday but now the prices are prohibitive, even for drip coffee, plus the food isn't that good. Everything I've had here is actually quite good, however, ever since they opened their little cafe in the heart of Ketchum the service is really slow. Even for a bagel sandwich it takes 20 minutes. I'm not exaggerating either...20 minutes solid...anything they have to make on the menu! Makes me wonder what's going on back there in the kitchen. At their old location it was 5 minutes tops for anything on their menu. I'll keep going back because its good, but only when I'm in the mood to really sit down and take my time.
