Ambiance is super cozy, cute, relaxed and familial. I come here about once a year and I think it takes me a year to remember why! I'm definitely here for the flash-gordon-fast and very kind service, the ease of the menue, the deco (I didn't know how much I love wooden bears!) The deco is with a lot of bears both taxidermy as as also wood engraved/sculpured. The walls are covered with vintage Sun Valley posters, Fish & bait illustrations and carved bear deco. The bar has a decorative roof with a taxidermied bobcat and skiing stuff, which makes the Kneadery even more cozy and specially unique as a venue. The loss of a star comes from the blandness of the egg scramble, even though they use high quality eggs; the weird taste of the wonderfully presented whipped butter in a cup -- I love when non-ice-cream looks like ice-cream somehow. Is that real butter? Not discernible by taste. My stomach sadly reacted to that detail. I might need a separate conversation with my stomach about this, but it stays that it tasted weird also to my husband! In past years I would order an omelette with cheese and it came with a bland plain egg omelette folded in half and stuffed with cheese. Maybe an eggadilla (Huevadilla?) would be more of a correct description. Not sure if this technique is an American classic (sorry for slamming it), but I'd recommend to add the cheese to the eggs *before* frying the mixture. The cheesy richness of the cheese enhances the eggs tenfold! My hb really enjoyed his half order of the two-two-two menu item (2 pancakes, 2 poached eggs, 2 slices of bacon), just the egg was overdone and not even a little runny. Why is it 4 stars and not 3? The service was fast and friendly from the moment we walked in. Our food came out within about 15 minutes of ordering, which was impressive considering how busy they were. I've never had a bad experience here before--until today. It was all about the guy who was serving and taking our order. I was here with my daughter and her family. She has dairy allergies and asked about menu items. He clearly had no idea and bluntly punted by saying you'll just have to stick with sides like bacon and quickly rushed to a table nearby to close out their bill leaving my daughter hanging mid-question. He had a sweet young lady shadowing him. I was shocked at how rude he was. After a few minutes, I went to the bar and asked two other ladies about dairy and they were very helpful. I was told all the eggs and French toast are cooked in olive oil and that many menu items are fine. When I shared this with our waiter to just let him know there are in fact good menu options, he abruptly said, "it is your risk--I'm sure they cook it in butter oil". I asked if he could check. Yes, he stormed off muttering under his breath. He came back and said it is canola oil--not dairy. He quickly took our order and tried to change his demeanor. Felt a bit forced. Today, service from the guy (not the girl), was atypical of our normal experience. The girl saved it with smiles and engagement! Service is such a huge deal in the service business. Normally this place is five star. He needs serious training and a dose of humility with a desire to learn. I was not rude. He just couldn't be wrong--even when it was clear he didn't know--and didn't care to ask. This was at 10:30 and the place was not busy. About half the tables were empty. Went here for breakfast (well, my wife's idea of breakfast is a cheeseburger. You can get breakfast or lunch here at any time. The cheeseburger was cooked to perfection. The onion rings were hot and crispy. I got an egg over easy (cooked just right), the chicken apple sausage (blah - lousy, it's what kept my review from being 5 stars) and sourdough toast (also excellent). You will see this place has high YELP scores and they are totally deserved. You can easily spend a lot of time just looking at all of the interesting pieces of decor in the Restaurant. We ordered the Crab Benedict ( on specialty), Cowboy Benedict and Mama Bear Stack of Blueberry Pancakes. The eggs were cooked to perfection and there was so much crab on the Crab Benedict. The sauce is spicy so if you do not love spicy order it on the side. The blueberry pancakes were good. They have a moderate amount of blueberries, of course I would always love more but not everyone is like me. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals and agreed it was some of the best we had in the area! We began with fresh coffee ($3.75 for unlimited refills), which is restaurant's special breakfast blend. It's rich, bold with a hint of chocolate. With a little cream and sugar, I enjoyed it so much I probably had about three cups. For food, we bellied up to a half order of the aptly named "Famous Kneadery Benedict" (poached eggs with sliced Canadian bacon on a grilled Thomas' English muffin, generously topped with special homemade hollandaise sauce. Served with golden hash browns & choice of toast, $11.75 [$14.75 for a full order]). The entire spread slapped - the hollandaise was delishhh! Buttery, tangy and velvety goodness that intensified the dish's overall delivery. It's no wonder why this dish is so popular! We also ordered the "Ultimate Belgian Waffle" ($10.75) with 4 slices of thick-cut bacon (+$5.50) and 2 eggs scrambled (+$2.25 each). Lord, the waffle was perfectly golden and fluffffffyyy! The bacon was fantastic! - it really was the thick, juicy kind that's actually worth a damn. I found prices to be very reasonable, considering the atmosphere of the entire town. The entire bill before the tip was only ~$41.00. For two very hungry tummies that are used to paying $80+ for a full sized meal in these parts, this is one hell of a steal. From the coffee, to the perfectly (and I mean perfect!) executed hash browns, to the Bloody Mary's depth of flavor, to the warmed up (tableside) syrup, to the fluffy eggs, to the flavorful veggie omelet, to the stunningly moist blueberry muffin, I could go on and on. The Kneadery fits right in with the vibes of Ketchum. This restaurant feels like a cozy and quaint cabin with lots of delicious comfort food. We were in Ketchum during a wedding weekend and our large group was able to grab breakfast here after a short wait. We were seated inside of their dining area that's all made with wood and even has a big bear statue inside. When the weather is good, they've got a few outdoor tables available as well. We were greeted with great service and filled our table with delicious food. They had all sorts of breakfast and lunch items available and everything was great! Wow! So happy to have found this place for breakfast in town. The food: delicious! We ordered the Reuben with eggs on it, and the Steak Benedict. While the Reuben and curly fries were absolutely delicious, the steak Benedict lacked... steak. I had maybe 1.6 ounces of steak across both bennys. The service: great service. We truly enjoyed the service we received from the minute we walked in to the minute we left. One star is only deducted because one of the guys refilling our coffee mug had splashed coffee over my boyfriend's pants. Not much you can do about that, but it was a bummer. My wife found a hair (not hers) on her Eggs Benedict. They did take it back and replaced it with new food (we think). Flavor was just so-so. I had French Toast crust was way too hard, so not great. My family of 6 came here for breakfast our first morning in Sun Valley, and we were so pleased with the food! Everything was amazing. Been coming here for over 3 decades and always awesome but our last visit was disappointing. Best part of our breakfast was a super friendly server, but the food was not as great as before. Smaller portions, a tablespoon of hollandaise on the Benedict, potatoes were barely cooked and one benny had 1/2 the potatoes as the other benny.
