Yorkville Park is located in "the Village" of Yorkville on the south side of Cumberland Street…read morerunning between Avenue Road and Bellair Street. Unlike most parks, you'll find no grass or benches here. What used to be a parking lot is now filled with gardens, native plant species, prairie meadow, marsh, and trees. A silver-coloured metal structure houses a waterfall bordering one side of a courtyard. At the other end you'll find a rock "outcropping" (a 650 ton rock, coaxed out of the Canadian Shield and reassembled in the park) The park draws many visitors, tourists and is a great place for celebrity sightings during the Toronto Film Fest. Workers (like me!) eat lunch and people-watch at the bistro tables and chairs scattered throughout the park.

There is a network of wide gravel paths with nice water views of Lake Ontario. I was disheartened to see a lot of trash in the park. There were benches and tables throughout the park, but most people were enjoying sitting on the rocks. Many were taking photos. There were also grills and the smell of barbeque hit me. The bluffs are quite majestic. There is a restroom near the start of the path. The day I visited there was an ice cream food truck onsite. There is a large parking area which I had to circle multiple times before a space became available and when I left it took me over 20 minutes to get out of the lot and onto the main road. The Scarborough Bluffs are approximately 40 minutes from the Toronto airport .

The pond is surrounded by a red mosaic-tiled sitting wall; of course, it had to be red in colour! Adjacent office towers get a high aerial vantage point to view the heart in its entirety. The park occupies 8,100 square metres (2 acres). This site used to have a circular eastbound off-ramp from the Gardiner Expressway, and was called York Street Park. The major concrete structure has been converted into a lush park. It is quite a departure from the concrete jungle of downtown Toronto. Two mature trees have been retained, and new trees have been planted lining the sidewalks along the perimeter. One of the trees, a Northern Catalpa tree, is on its own island on one side of the pond. There are bronze-cast native-Canadian animal sculptures around the park: beaver, bear, fox, squirrel, rabbit, opossum, owl, woodpecker, etc. On the southeast corner, there is an outdoor seating area, great for relaxation or a snack/meal break. On the northeast corner, there is a dog off-leash area. There are park benches and a water bottle filling station. There is no children's playground. There is no free WiFi. The park is wheelchair accessible. There are no washrooms. There are expensive paid parking lots. Review 2023-220

This was done both as a change of scenery and to escape the very bright sun that day. Within the park, we saw a handful of groups doing tai chi, some students, and a handful of runners. Among other things, there was a nice statue of King Edward VII on horseback. I feel like if I went to the university right nearby here or worked in the museums or government buildings, this would be a nice place to relax in.

It is one huge room with 4 levels of play where they can climb to different levels, like in a jungle. Socks must be worn in the play areas. They cater to children of all ages. There are multiple slides, tunnels, a ball pit, obstacle courses, and a trampoline. At the back there is a soccer area. There are 4 small party rooms for food and cakes. They provide pizza for your parties. There is a snack area and large seating area with a TV (usually showing an aquarium scene). Entry prices range from $8 to $15 depending on age. There are 2 free adult entries per paying child. They have free WiFi. The washroom have little slippers for the children to wear (since they are in socks) but the adults don't have slippers.

I asked them for an exception, and I know it is an exception, I would have been more understanding if they were being reasonable, more logical, empathetic, and not rude. But, bad customer service sours the full scenario whether it was a yes or no. I told them you are losing business and their response was "actually we are not", clearly they do not care about my business - their policy is inconvenient and I am going to Playtopia next, amazing customer service and cheaper actually. I hope you keep getting business but better your customer service!
