Following the path a bit of ways, we were greeted by the loud screams of a woman in a tent alternating between french and english. Obviously upset in whatever she was going on about. Up the hill a little more. I was informed it was ok to crack a beer and smoke a smoke because it's one of the parks where it's ok? I have no idea if this is true for I was naive enough to take the word of my bud, but as I looked around, not a single kid in sight. I'm told they have drum circles here where they put pyramids on their head and play light language... sounds right up my alley, minus any intoxicants in that type of thing. Anyhow, buggest skeeter I ever saw, made me keep moving until I found myself elsewhere in DT.

The trees line a picturesque stretch of the park, and when they're in full bloom, it feels like the city collectively remembers to stop and breathe for a second. Pink petals, sunshine (if you're lucky), and everyone suddenly becoming a photographer. Of course, you're sharing the moment with about half of Toronto. Between the throngs of selfie-takers, dogs in sweaters, and folks sprawled out pretending it's warmer than it is, there's plenty of entertainment even if the blooms are a bit past their prime. My advice? Don't expect Kyoto-level serenity. But do expect a lively, local take on hanami--Toronto-style. Grab a coffee, people-watch, and enjoy the fleeting beauty before the blossoms (and your patience) are gone for another year.

Happy to observe everyone utilizing the space as intended. Members of the Toronto community and tourists from out of town alike - all strolling through the trails, taking in the beautiful scenery from the newest viewpoint of the Toronto Skyline by the Waterfront, it's perfect! I must've saw at least 1 bike pass me every 3 minutes. The bike trails are endless and smooth. There are multiple huge patches of grass scattered throughout the park sprinkled with small groups of families and friends gathering. Despite how many people are at the park, the place is huge and is able to absorb the crowds that oddly, it never feels crowded. Everyone very respectful of the space, helping to keep it clean. It could also be that there still aren't any food options nearby (besides Cherry Street Bbq across the way). Single file lines outside the restrooms which by the way are fully functional (not portable potties). They're fancy too! These washrooms self-clean and make announcements from within re: when the lights will automatically turn off and when the door will unlock (if I recall corrrctly it was 20 minuites). Not your typical playground with bright play structures and slides. Instead the nature theme can be observed throughout - encouraging climbing poles, walking tight ropes that are low to the ground, and balancing between tree stumps. Multiple sand pits with a sort of badlands theme (red, hilly deep grooves and hills). The sand pits have running water for the ultimate sandbox experience, some even under a canopy for comfortable shade. This park is lively yet so calm. What used to be a large empty space has been transformed into a beautiful escape from the hustle and bustle of the busy city. Bonus: there was a party at the club nearby and the music can be heard throughout the entire park. It didn't take away from the peaceful experience. Instead, it enhanced it! Tasteful and not too loud but audible throughout. All the park enthusiasts were seen nodding their heads, swaying to all the great songs from Rebel!

The kids fave was definitely the zip line, followed by the long swing and then the sand/water play area. Crocs work well for the water area but runners would work best for the climbing parts, but they can be skipped. The big owl is fun to go up the first time and a good photo opp too. There was an ice cream truck out by the parking lot and a gelato stand at the entrance. Otherwise, not really any food options, except for Cherry St. BBQ which doesn't have a lot of kid options. There are ample water bottle filling stations and there are a few washrooms at the back of the firehouse building. We've been here before and will likely come back.

I went during the weekday so it wasn't too busy and was pretty quiet. Apparently it gets pretty busy on the weekends though. The park also has a BBQ area but it might be by permit only since I saw a sign posted of the parties who had reserved the area by permit. This spot would be perfect for a date/picnic, especially during the warm summer months. It makes a great gathering area for family friendly activities as well!

There are bus stops nearby but it may take a while (at least for me when I was too young to drive). Also, parking is pretty limited. Our company picnic was held at this park last week and it was the perfect spot! Of course, there was no 'lazing' under any trees for us as we played various games and ran around like idiots for a few hours! There are plenty of open, flat areas near the baseball diamonds for relay races, egg tosses and the like. Although there are plenty of benches situated along the paths, there doesn't seem to be any picnic tables in the 'grassy' areas around the park or under trees making it somewhat awkward during the BBQ. As with all parks in Toronto, a permit is required when holding an event or gathering of 25 people or more but they are relatively quick and easy to obtain.

This park is tucked away a couple streets north of Eglinton and right in between Yonge and Avenue…read more You won't see it from Eglinton but it is just behind a community centre that offers ice hockey and ping pong (I've yet to investigate all the centre has to offer). It's also a 5 minute walk from the Eglinton TTC station if you plan to get there by public transportation. The park itself is a large plot of green space that is regularly maintained by the City of Toronto. There are two open softball diamonds where I have seen league games played. I've even seen the diamonds maintained by the Toronto Blue Jays Community Care Foundation. There's also a regulation soccer field but on some summer weekdays and Saturday mornings, it is converted to about 8-10 mini soccer fields where toddlers between 4-8 years old (my best guess) chase a soccer ball around the field. On down times, it is popular among the dog owners in the area. There is no fenced off-leash area but it is large enough for dogs to run off-leash and play fetch. The latest development is the kiddies play structure. Built over the Fall of 2014 and opened before year's end, the new structure is among the largest I've seen in a public park. There's plenty of apparatuses for the kids to climb, slide down and do. The ground surface is a soft, bouncy synthetic material. It probably saves some kids from crying and saves parents from cleaning up sand in the house. There is also a circular concrete space that doubles as both a labyrinth for people to follow to de-stress and as a wading pool when filled with water. It's been very popular among the children with the hot temperatures we've been having recently. The community centre does offer parking but I don't think they let anyone in until after 10am and similarly, street parking nearby is permit only from midnight until 10am. But like I mentioned earlier, it's a short walk from the Eglinton TTC station and you can even take the 32 bus from the station to get dropped off right in front of the community centre. For me, I like to run laps around the outer edge of the park and there is a hill close to the community centre. Each lap with a run up the hill is 1km so it's a good spot if you're training for a running race and want to track your distance. If I've made the park sound like it has lots to offer, then I've done my job and I do suggest checking it out if you're looking for something to do in the city, especially if you have restless children (or dogs).

The tall trees were a great place to sit under for some shade and relaxation from the heat. The little strip of water was clear and glistening. There was also a flower garden along the path, such beautiful scenery. The flowers were bright and blooming, so great for a photo-op. The trail is simple and not too long, but absolutely beautiful for a stroll with some coffee in hand. There's also a large hill to watch the sunset, which is a great choice for picnics and relaxing. Definitely need to go back before summer ends!

The trees were located on the opposite side of where we enter (around Bloor St and Keele St/Parkside Dr.). It was cool but very crowded at that time of year. I feel like I would have a better experience if I randomly visited when it's not cherry blossom season. If you are on the grass and near the trees, watch out where you walk. Volunteers put out short wooden boxes with mesh coverings over the turtle egg nests.

Trouble is, where I live is way too busy and even thinking about doing something relaxing seems out of the question. Hence I was so surprised when this park, just a short drive away, came up. Centennial Park is wonderful. A quiet, but not too quiet, little escape. Free parking is a bonus, with a beautiful conservatory as you enter full of lush greenery and plants galore, you'll be sure to spend a couple of lazy afternoons here. You can take a nice stroll around, sit by the river, play disc golf or even have a barbecue with friends or family. Definitely one I will be visiting again. Washrooms are also in the conservatory and are very clean!
