I would give -5 stars to this club if I could. First time I've left a real review, but the word needs to get out. I seldom say this, and I don't like histrionics but seriously, the way that I was treated last night at Bijou night club made it clear just what kind of clientele that place attracts. You don't tell someone you can go outside at midnight and get in and out privileges, and then stamp a void stamp on them without notifying them, and then try to charge them 100 dollars to get back in. #noclass to all my boston friends, don't go to bijou unless you want to pay for overpriced drinks and get attitude from 2-bit big timing club bouncers. What a joke. Not to mention overpriced drinks and a terrible wannabe Vegas atmosphere. Tiny, pretentious, overpriced, and no class. Oh and how about the bouncers trying to start fights and then taking your phone forcefully to make sure you can't videotape the whole debacle? The worst place that has ever EXISTED. The staff at Bijou is homophobic and racist. I got a table for my friends birthday, and got a call from one of my firends that they were giving her problems at the door. When I went downstairs they were not letting one of my gay friends in, and said his ID was "Fake." He's 25. He looks 25. They kept saying there was a problem with only HIS ID (but my others friends were okay). I started arguing with the bouncers, and finally the owner came out. His bouncers began to PUSH ME (first of all, theyre 220 lbs pushing WOMEN)--the owner then came out and said that HE'S trying to RUN A BUSINESS AND TO LEAVE. I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE been treated so poorly by staff in my life. As someone who spends thousands of dollars at this establishment, I am SHOCKED that they get away with this. That would never happen in NYC or LA, or really any civilzied place in the world. This club will be shut down before we all know. read more

This place is a ZERO star!! Don't go! I have been to Bijou twice, the first time the music was fine, DJ was good, cover fee was expensive but very few ppl so we left for another one. I went last night again, it was horrible. They put you in 2 lines, one line for promoter's friends and sluts...which was nothing surprising for nightclubs. However, we waited in line for 30mins, just to see they keep letting "friends" or the girls who's willing to snuggle and show the promoter boobs in. This is the worst clubbing experience I have had in Boston, it seems like at Bijou, either you have to give money, show ur boob, speak Spanish, be a bitch, otherwise you won't be able to get into this club ever. read more

My friend and I had the worst club experience we've ever had at Bijou - it's not worth the time or ridiculous amount of money it costs. I slipped on ice outside, explained that I have a muscular condition (all true), and they told me I was too drunk and wouldn't let me in even after asking me several questions I answered correctly. Finally they told us to go get a bite to eat and come back, so we do. Half an hour later, we wait in what seemed like the same line but end up on the upper level where we both have to pay $30 to get in and $10 to check our coats. After clubbing in London, I can tell you this pricing is utterly ridiculous. Downstairs, our friends are trying to get up and a bouncer denies them entrance and claims there isn't anything upstairs. So, we leave and get back in a different line for the lower level. We explain what happened to several people who tell us they can't do anything about a refund. Fine, we're ready to pay again but when we get to the front of the line, they told us we can't get in. They call out a manager and he now tells my very sober friend that she's too drunk to be allowed in. Basically, they ruined my birthday. read more

It was one of the most degrading experience of my life. Came at 10:30 with all my girls just to have a whole bunch of man scream at us about how they've reached capacity. At 10:30 pm they were only taking people with tables and telling the rest of us to leave and get off the sidewalk. Then once we moved off the line 20 min later they switch up saying only people on the guest list. I was furious. Eventually we were able to get in but the effort it took just made the night terrible. We sucked it up and tried our best to enjoy the night. Never again will I ever go to Bijou. Their management is so unprofessional. Please stay away. Rating zero. If I could give 0 stars I would. This place is absolutely horrible. Rude bouncers and the lines were so unorganized. My friend who has a disability was not allowed into the club because they insisted that she was too drunk. They told us to go get some food and come back later which we did and they proceeded to push us upstairs where it was $30 per person for entry. Once we get there, we are told we have to go use the other entry to meet up with our friends because while both places were Bijou, they had different rooms. This was after we stood in the SAME line that we had an hour prior, so I don't know how they changed access to rooms within an hour. So we leave immediately again and get in line for the other room and after another thirty minutes, they tell us that they won't let us in. "You told us your friend had drinks prior so it's MA law that we not let someone into a place where they have access to more alcohol". My friend had told them she had two drinks an hour before we got there, and was he really telling us no one else there was drunk? There were plenty of people drunk and even smoking and vaping who had been let in. And they were STILL ignoring the fact that my friend had a disability. We were both over 21 and had friends inside. So then suddenly now the guy tells me that my friend seems fine but that I am too drunk to be able to enter (I have not had any drinks at all). I definitely feel like higher motives were at play for not letting us in. But overall either way, this place is a rip off. They're all scamming everyone and not even working hard to hide it. Went with a large group, a girl and her friends crowded our table and started fighting my friends on the dance floor. They proceeded to come across the room to the table and start trying to fight with us. Security finally stepped in, I was getting more drinks, come back to be thrown out with one Black female security guard ignoring all the people in our group and taking the instigators side. Proceeded to remove me and incorrect people, and then allow the woman who was throwing drinks, slapping people, putting fingers in people's faces and mouths was allowed to stay. When asked for a manager, the security guard attempted to get hostile, had to reach out to another then was finally given a manager who apologized and said the nights almost over and he would speak to the security woman. Not friendly to people of color, not transparent, and not honest. will not return. read more

I didn't know much about Bijou before I actually went there for the first time, I had a pretty good feeling about the place. My guess is that the owners of Bijou don't stress how important customer service is to the staff, it is a group of COMPLETE morons. So as I am greeted at the door (3 bouncers, dressed professionally, attentive) I am pointed over to the girl who collects my door charge fee in exchange for a ticket I give to the guy on the stairs. She is texting/having a non work related conversation, and I dont care what they do, BUT WHEN SOMEBODY IS PAYING 30 DOLLARS to come in, PAY ATTENTION. Anyways, great bartenders. Fast, attentive, remembered what i was drinking. Music was great, dancing was fun. now when I heard about this place I read words like lounge and classy, nobody told me there would be kids dancing on the couch tops with sunglasses on, and it is exactly that place. filled with trouble making d bags. The Security staff has ZERO control over the crowd. (ie people throwing drinks and starting fights and not getting pulled out) It got to the point where i needed to find a staff member who actually could have this situation taken care of, I was told to speak to a man named Dimitry, either the gm or mod, either way. he never showed up to talk to me and just blew me off. I understand that running a club is hard and im sure 300 ppl a night want to complain, but again, customer service. So in summary, this club is the new Roxy (for those who dont know it) just another ghetto shit hole. Hire some people who are actually trained to work in a club. read more

I've been here a few times and it's far from the most "prestigious" club in the city. There are other options like Whiskey Saigon or Candy Bar, based on what you're looking for. All the times I've been with my friends and I, the bouncers think they're awesome when they just stand there and check IDs, and think they are in the FBI. I got a table and paid 6k. On 1/7/2016. At the end of the night , I was leaving when a female African America bouncer "thought" I had a bottle in my hand . I told her I didn't , I let her search me and she found nothing on me. At that point , she got mad & pushed me against the wall and tried to attack me . As other bouncers came over to the scene , the African American bouncer still tried to attack me and Fight me . I told the manager and he did nothing at that point. This club is horrible . This nightclub provided the worst service I have ever experienced. I came with a group of people in a party bus and we have already had our tickets for the entrance and had paid for a VIP and they denied us access into the club because they "don't affiliate with party buses" then started to say we had too many people. Thennnn when they realized they were ALL WRONG they gave a half ass apology. In the end the staff was horrible and the security was very rude. Horrible Horrible horrible. Was told by a bouncer that my friend and I could not get in unless we brought a table or we had to be on the guest list. I have lived here all my life and been to numerous of clubs and this is the first time EVER hearing a stupid rule such as theirs. Everyone in a stunning mood, music pumping, age range pretty much mid-late 20's with plennnty of 30-somethings which is fantastic! If you don't appreciate the young crowd and looking for something a little more classy, I'd say you have found your SPOT! I am so happy Boston finally opened a club like Bijou. Its been years since I've had that much fun out in Boston! The vibe is very similar to some of the best NYC clubs. I think they only hire sexy people to work there because every bouncer and especially the bartenders were incredibly sexy. The crowd wasn't so bad either ;) Not sure who DJ's there but the music was absolutely perfect. My whole crew had an amazing time and we are looking forward to going back. Came here for new years eve with my friends after we bought 80 dollar tickets a few weeks before. We showed up and had to stand in line for an hour and a half in the rain. When we got to the front the bouncers said we all had to get out of line because there was no more room in the club. There were people in line who paid money out of their pockets that all got screwed over. This is the worst club ive ever been too. DO NOT COME HERE EVER. Went for NYE 15 and it was a bit of a ratchet experience. The crowd was sloppy and spilling drinks all over the floor. While this is expected on a night like NYE, I'm disappointed in Bijou's lack in even attempting to mop or clean throughout the night. The floors were completely soaked and created a dangerous environment for all. I slipped in a puddle by the bar and got completely soaked in spilt liquor, ruined my dress and badly bruised my elbow and knees in addition to being mortified for the rest of the night. I saw many others fall in that same puddle or others throughout the club. A random girl then threw up in the middle of the floor and it splattered onto my legs. I waited about 20 minutes and never saw someone come to clean it up so at that point I chose to leave the club disgusted in what I had seen. I've been to many nightclubs in NYC, Miami and Vegas in which the moment a drink spills, a worker is cleaning it up as the club would be liable for any severe injuries. Overall, Bijou needs to step their game and professionalism up. They charge people a lot of $ to buy a ticket ahead of time, yet there was no separate lines for ticket holders. We still waited 45 minutes in the cold with people who didn't have tickets, so what did we buy a ticket for? The coat check was also disorganized which is such a simple thing to tighten up. This night at Bijou definitely tainted my Boston nightclub experience and probably will not go back again. read more

First off, I think there are actually two dance rooms: one for the club sounds (probably top 40 and hip hop) and the other for house music. I've only been there for the latter. Bijou suffers from the standard Boston club narcissism in which it tries to suck as much money out of its clientele as possible and refusing to reinvest some of it into a quality experience. First of all the price of drinks is ridiculous even for Boston standards. Every one in my group noticed how weak the drinks were. WHAT A SCAM. The space is small which is not a bad thing per se. But WHY are so many "VIP" table taking up the precious dancing space? The waitresses serving these tables have literally zero interest in being there. This may be Bijou's biggest problem. Pros? Well the sound system is very good, may even best in Boson It brings in very good DJs, especially from the more underground scene I like how it doesn't use too many club gimmicks and gives it a proper rave feel. You should be there for good house music, that's all Conclusion: I will only go there if I'm in to the house DJ spinning that night. And I will never waste my money on drinks here. read more

I planned my girlfriend's 21st birthday at Bijou on 7/15/2016 and had a blast! I initially was introduced to One of their promoters, Daunte, who was extremely easy to work with! After we spoke about the night and what I wanted for the party (how many tables, VIP, bottles, etc) he continuously followed up with me to make sure everything was okay. He then introduced me to the Gm, Renato, who made the night smoooooooth. He got my party of 25 people in and all together at once. He also helped a few of my friends get in who were running late that night. He got us set up at our two tables in the middle of the venue and introduced me to our bottle girl, Alivia. Alivia was amazing! After they brought over our bottles of champagne and Ciroc, she made sure our entire party had glasses and were okay. She even stayed to entertain and dance with our group! She wasn't pushy and didn't make me feel pressured to buy anymore and she checked in with me often to make sure the party was having a good time. Renato also checked in with me every so often to make sure it was okay! The whole night went wayyyyy better than I could've ever thought. Huge shout out to Daunte, Renato, Alivia and all of the staff! They definitely made it a night to remember for sure! I'd definitely recommend working with Daunte and requesting Alivia if she's available!! read more

I understand the poor reviews. This is a night club that fancies itself much higher end than it really is. I bought my ticket to see a particular DJ months in advance and had never even heard of this place. First off, I'm not a "bottle service" club kinda person, I thought that insanity was kept in Miami and Vegas. I don't like clubs where the men are nasty and desperate and stand there like robots on the dance floor zeroing in on women who are alone, or all the women in the club are wearing heels and bandage dresses. I was here to see one of my favorite DJs. So I shoved my way to the front and danced all night. It was great in that regard. There were some dudes that had to be shoved away, but for the most part it was fine. The bouncers are kinda a buzzkill. It's not fun to be stared down by some 200lb dude in a suit with a secret service ear piece when you're just trying to dance. The coat check is a joke, they tried to charge me double cause I had a winter coat and a little jacket and don't seem to understand the concept of one hanger one price. Don't buy drinks here, they're really expensive, and if you do pay in cash so the bartenders don't try and rob you. The crowd was a mix between people who came out for the DJ, and people who clearly go there all the time and don't care who's on deck. The regulars were gross. They're really entitled and rapey, both the men and the women. I would say if there's gonna be a DJ you really wanna see playing here, go for it. Don't let the poor reviews hold you back. Got a table here and was told that I would have free entry for 10 guests, got there and they made us pay 20 dollars for 6 people. I've read terrible reviews so I didn't expect much I've never had such terrible service in my life. The 150 deposit I spent was supposed to go towards drinks and it didn't so they pretty much robbed me of 270 dollars between the deposit and covers that I was told I wouldn't have to pay. After we were brought to our table that was barely a table, the bottle service girl was extremely rude. I asked her a question about about a type of liquor and she told me to look at the menu myself. Unfortunate because it's a fun place but the people try their hardest to scam you. Pay the extra few thousand for a table at the grand, do not waste your money here. read more

Do NOT let the low rating influence your decision, the people who write the low ratings DO NOT belong at this type of venue. Yes it is expensive unless you're on a list. Yes the drinks are expensive however you get what you pay for. Starters, the bouncer are really professional and organized. I believe I fit the mold of an ideal patron of this place and was treated well....if you happen to show up looking like you belong at PF changs and dollar shots-you will probably get stares.....Anyways, the music is great, great acoustics, the servers are beautiful...the bartenders are perfect 10s and the table girls have the perfect build.....great eye candy. Also, I like to people watch when going out, its a great place to watch other patrons go nuts....I would give this a shot, not a Boston club by any means....Ill add this to my list of "go to" spots. read more

Incredible sound system with incredible dj's!! You won't want to leave...that is if you get in. My friends and I like to go to the Onyx room at Bijou to dance to some great music (rare find in Boston). We've never had a problem walking in, but I know way too many people who had no luck even coming early in the evening. Definitely don't go with the intention of meeting up with friends because it probably won't happen. Also we've noticed he crowd has been changing into a younger crowd. Hopefully that will change over the summer when the college kids go home. read more
