The outside window is neon framed featuring wig clad mannequin heads and no hint of the bar inside. We walked in and were seated in a conversational area with a shared table meant to spark conversation. The menu is very fun and lengthy. How do we choose!? The table across from us has a glowing glass and a cocktail served in a tea cup, everyone is excited to see what their choice will look like. I decided on the Fluffy Frothy Inflatable Tubemen and my friend ordered Derek's Bramble mocktail. Hers was impressive and very tasty. Mine had interesting layers of flavor and the froth was interesting but delicious. It seems like a great place to go with a few friends or a nice date spot. We had a good time and nice experience.

So fun!! I would have walked right by here if it wasn't for Yelp. We actually did the first time and then circled back when the bar we were planning to go to was too crowded. We came in December and this bar was lovely and festive for the holidays. Loved their 60's inspired holiday drink menu. The hostess is super clear on the "rules" when you walk in. No more than 90 minutes and you can only sit on the couch, another party may sit across from you. The couch was a little tight on one side for three people, but we made it worked. They have some of the most inventive and unique cocktails I've ever seen and everyone enjoyed their drinks!

Walked in on a Monday night and it wasn't busy but it also wasn't dead. I was actually shocked by the amount of people there for a Monday at 830PM. The person who sat us was very informative, letting us know where the bathroom was and politely letting us know that we only had 90 minutes. We were sat kind of near the door at a shared table but no one ever sat across from us. It did take a kind of long time for our server to greet us but after we ordered, she did check on us quite a bit. I think the service was a bit cold but that's ok. The drinks made up for it. All the cocktails we ordered were well balanced and delicious. There was a good variety on the menu and they can of course do your basic cocktails with their full bar. I love the fun hair themed accessories on the drinks. I also LOVED that the drinks actually looked like the drawings in the menu. Super cute and fun. I'm glad the place we actually wanted to go to was closed. The Wig Shop is fantastic.

My boyfriend and I loved the huge selection of cocktails and mocktails, and the food was absolutely delicious! I liked that they were small plates so we got to try many different things. The ambience is really fun too, speakeasy vibes!

This place is really giving Speakeasy vibes! If you're looking for an elevated drink menu, then you definitely want to make your way here. However, you should know three things: 1.Reservations are required 2. Beignets are no longer offered 3. There's a 90 minute seating limit The beignets and drinks were the only reason I came to this place. Annnnnd baby!!! They weren't on the menu. Which was a huge disappointment for me! I ordered the upstaged Margarita with a delicious whipped cream. The actual name slips my mind. For small bites, we had the potatoes that were fried and drizzled with two different sauces. The potatoes were delicious! Because they were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. We also tried the crab fritters. Not my favorite...the flavor just wasn't there.

Such a fun speakeasy! We stopped in after a conference to grab some drinks and a small bite. The vibe was old hair salon (with a wig shop on the outside) . Servers were friendly and you get 2 hours to enjoy. Drinks were tasty and creative. More like creative versions of popular drinks rather than a full on sensory experience but we had a great time and even went next door to their sister spot for some food and another drink. Check it out if you're in the city.

I've been here twice and this place never disappoints! This has become one of my favorite speakeasies in Boston! I love how cozy it is and such a nice place to hang out at with some friends! It does get busy even on a Thursday night that I went so I recommend making a reservation if you can! I love the menu that they have, so many unique cocktails you can pick from! I've tried a few and they were always so good!! They also have a small food menu if you want some little bites! I'll definitely be coming back!

Wanted to come here for awhile now. Finally pulled the trigger and went out after dinner with a friend last night Although not in the nicest area they said one hour wait so went across street for drink to kill time but it quickly was only 30 min wait We walked in and were told we would have to share a table with strangers which is a little weird... And have 1.5 he at the table. So we got some fun recommendations for drinks. Very fun cool drink menu! The bathroom downstairs was a little sketchy the sink faucet nearly came out of sink base. But bartenders was super helpful with drink recommendations and attentive. They always very very attentive to filling water which I love. Was a fun spot glad we came and tried it!

The Wig Shop is a MUST visit location in Boston. The outdoor quirky looking entrance hides the elevated indoor experience like nothing I've seen before. The vibes are immaculate and the drinks are out of this world -- creative, tasty, and generously poured. Don't miss out on this!

Been here a couple of times and it never disappoints. They have a rotating menu, and they keep some of their most popular drinks the same. They have food to but haven't been so cannot speak on that. Drinks are around $18-$20 which is similar to prices nearby the Boston Common. They sometimes have a wait to get in but you just put your phone number down and they'll text you, which usually doesn't take long. Service is always friendly and the ambiance is sooo cute! Must go to cocktail bar!

Good drinks, pushy hostess. The drinks and all of the appetizers at The Wig Shop were phenomenal. The entrance is a cute photo op. We came in and the place was small but comfortable. We didn't have a reservation the hostess notified us we could come in but we would be seated across from another group. We said ok and crammed into a little couch 3 of us. The hostess came by to tell us we only had 90 minutes to be there which I've never been told, I was caught off guard. I've never stayed long at restaurants but also have never been told to leave right at the beginning, weird. The drinks were great but weird hostess interaction. Maybe they put all the customer work on her? Idk, I would return but with a reservation to avoid hostess tude.

Amazing as always! One of the best bars in Boston. Great place to lounge and talk. Music selection is on point, if sometimes a little loud.

A majority of the drinks were more on the savory side which was very interesting like "may all your bacon burn" with bacon bites at the top of the drink. The drinks my friend had were all stunning with the use of egg yolk to elevate the drink. We ended the evening by walking over to Bow Market and trying Viet Citron which was so DANG GOOD my gosh. The to go orders were insane but looks like they are doing very well despite recently opening in. I got the grilled lemongrass pork ribs bowl and youtiao and the side sauce was so good. We also spent an hour at the King Tut exhibit across the street! This restaurant/bar always seems packed. And, with reservations for 645pm (highly recommend) the bar was quite busy. The buzz from this high-end cocktail bar is exactly what you want on a Friday evening; From girlfriends sipping their wine to couples laughing and swirling their cocktails, Moon Bar is for the classy and sexy. Abby our server is excellent! A mixologist who knows all the cocktails and can recommend based on your preference. I tried one of their new cocktails with bourbon and did not care for it. Abby made me my mezcal drink that I have ordered before...its the 305 cowboy, an extremely popular drink. A must try for sure! Note: Some bartenders make you feel guilty for saying something about a drink you ordered and did not like. But, here at Moon Bar, Abby was so gracious to make me something that I will enjoy. Hats off to her:) Food: Since it was restaurant week we just shared everything. For starters we ordered the Tuna Tartare that was excellent. Then, we had Piri-Piri Chicken Thighs that were also good but quite spicy. For dessert, we shared the Caribbean Tiramisu, which was great. It was a tough choice between this and the Guava Cheesecake. In advance, I stopped into the hotel to confirm that a gluten-free guest could be accommodated and was assured this would be handled. In reality, the accommodation was inadequate and, at times, unacceptable. While the rest of us were served scones, my stepdaughter was given cut fruit in their place, and told that was all they had to accommodate. The dessert course consisted of what appeared to be basic gluten-free cookies, misrepresented as something more gourmet - egg nog cookies??? This lack of preparation was both disappointing, upsetting and avoidable. The broader experience was equally concerning. We were subjected to an unsolicited and uncomfortable "lesson" on tea service, which detracted from what should have been a relaxed and celebratory occasion. While trying to enjoy the time with the girls, being a lifelong tea drinker and someone who has been to many times at your establishment and its various incarnations, this is something I have never experienced. The food quality was poor (scones were clearly reheated and stuck to the cloth napkin they were wrapped in), and there were notable service lapses, including being served water in a visibly shattered glass. Additionally, when hot water was added to refresh the tea, my stepdaughter's pot curdled and had to be replaced. It was especially disappointing, as I mentioned that I had stopped in and spoken with the concierge, and was assured, as they had called the kitchen while I stood there that they readily accommodated gluten-free. There are numerous places in the city that could have done this, and if you had just told me that you could not do so, I would have booked us elsewhere. I chose not to raise the multiple issues in the moment so as not to disrupt what was meant to be a special day for the girls and me. However, the total cost exceeded $500, and the experience did not come close to justifying that price point! Do not recommend.

My guess is that this is more of an evening destination where people come for cocktails and the atmosphere rather than lunch. We ordered a Diet Coke, the Scampi appetizer, Carbonara, and the Rigatoni Alla Vodka. The scampi was easily the best part of the meal. It was flavorful, cooked well, and made for a nice appetizer to start things off. Unfortunately, the pastas didn't quite meet expectations, especially considering the price. The Rigatoni Alla Vodka was $28, but the pasta wasn't cooked al dente and felt overdone. The Carbonara, also $28, was disappointing as the eggs had curdled and the dish ended up being much oilier than I expected. At $18, the scampi was enjoyable, but overall I don't think the food justified the price point. One bright spot was the service. Our waitress was incredibly kind, checked in on us frequently, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The restaurant itself is beautiful and has a very aesthetic design. I can definitely see why it's popular on social media. There is also outdoor seating, which I imagine would be a nice option on a warm summer evening. One thing I did notice, though, is how closely the tables are spaced together. Since the restaurant was mostly empty during our visit it wasn't an issue, but I could see it feeling crowded and fairly loud once the dining room fills up. I was honestly surprised by the meal because Gigi is part of the Mazi Restaurant Group, and I've really enjoyed some of their other concepts, especially Kava Neo-Taverna. Based on this experience, though, I think there are plenty of Italian restaurants in Boston that offer better food and better value for the same price. Overall, I'd give Gigi 3/5 stars. The service and atmosphere were both strong, but the food didn't live up to the pricing. If I came back, it would probably be for drinks, appetizers, and the ambiance rather than a full Italian dinner.
