Slightly salty that they do not accept Groupon until June. Overall great tour. Was nervous about riding around some people in the crowded city. But after going over some introductory lessons our guide Vicent was extremely good. He promoted having fun, but doing so with safety 1st. This is a very good tour and I would recommend!

Found this company on Groupon. Booked a Segway tour for my visit to Chicago. I was a solo in a group with four other tourists. Unfortunately, two of them were running late and that cut into our time. Instructor, Marty, was energetic and informative. We were all first time riders; he provided good instruction and lots of encouragement. Had lots of information about the sites. I had lots of fun!

First time at Bike and Roll. Great location just off Michigan Ave, 4 or 5 blocks from the lakefront. We had a reservation, and we stopped by to pick up our bikes, and we were on our way in about 10 minutes! The bikes themselves were nothing special, but certainly adequate. We got the $12 per hour no frills bikes. We returned about ten minutes after our hour was up and, quite generously, we were not charged an additional fee. All in all, B&R is a good value. But if you're looking for fancy bikes, you'll have to dig a little deeper into your pockets : )

Great service, we took the Segway tour and we had an awesome time. Unfortunally you can never get enough, so we wished it was a little longer. Our guide Nora was very nice and took the time to make sure we all felt confortable with the segway.

Fun, fun, fun! If you're looking for something active to do, this is a great way to see the city and get some exercise. We stopped by this place while visiting the Bean, and decided to get some bikes and ride around part of the lake. It's only a few blocks from hitting the lakefront, and a perfect way to see some good views. We decided to get the bikes that had extra speed on them. If you turn a gear, it will really kick your bike into full speed ahead! I think they were called e-bikes. You can set a reservation, or just pop in which is what we did on a whim. We paid for an hour, but you can get longer if you want. That was plenty of time for us to get where we needed to, and enjoy some breeze in the hot August weather. The bikes were in good condition, and rode smoothly, and the experience in renting them was super easy. I'd be down to try this again next time we are in the city.

I took my granddaughter for our first Segway sunset tour thanks to Groupon. We were able to learn very quickly and we had lots of fun. Trish (?) - Sorry I do not remember her exact name - our guide was very cute and energetic. I will do it again as soon I get another deal and this time with the whole family. I am not giving it 5 starts to the tour because I believe the experience is more about riding the Segway. Evening views were outstanding; Chicago is my favorite city when it comes to views. I wish our guide would have had more knowledge about the city and its history. I took an architectural walking tour and our guide was very knowledgeable about the city, history and present. One tip: at the tail end of the tour my Segway seemed to pick up speed on its own (battery problem? Sensitive machine?), it got to the point that the handle moved towards my body (as a sign to slow down) and I got the impression I was losing my balance, I had a moment of panic, my body moved forward and I was going ever faster... I crashed; fall down, no big deal. I was mostly going fast, I am a rebel and was having fun. This incident did not take away from my good experience. Looking forward to doing it again

    Matt, tour guide, was fantastic.

Review is regarding a segway tour. I had found a great deal on Livingsocial.com for a 2.5 hour segway tour months ago. It was a great deal. Reserving my space was very painless. Just follow the instructions Bike and Roll emails to you. I had received my confirmation within hours. Checking in was a breeze. Just go to the lower level of the building, and check-in. The young man behind the counter was personable and pleasant. So far so good. Matt, our tour guide, was very going easy going when he met our group. There were nine of us on this tour. He demonstrated how to use the segway and then give us individual time to get use to the segway. I will say, I was a little unease in the beginning but once I got use to the segway, it was cool. Within minutes, it appeared that we were all comfortable on our segway. Kudos. Then our tour began. We zoomed along the lakefront, the DuSable Harbor, made a stop the Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium, Adler Planetarium, continued to the 12th avenue beach for a rest stop. Each stop, Matt would check in on us and give us facts about what was are viewing. On the way back, we zoomed around the base of Soldier Field which was so cool, stopped at Buckingham Fountain then back to the starting point. I wish the tour was longer. For an unique way to see the city, take a segway tour. So far, I have had very good luck with this company for renting bikes and now a segway tour.

What a great time to see parts of Chicago on a Segway. We started at 239 E. Randolph street. We headed north pass 3 Forks Restaurant and turn east to DuSable Harbor just before the river. We saw the lake front at sunset and it was more than beautiful. The skyline was clear with a breeze from the east to cool off the evening; south to museum campus-Buchanan foundation and all the sites. Shalom

So the boyfriend surprised me with this little fun thing to do called 'Segwaying'. He got one of those Living Social deals and so on a very hot Saturday morning we headed on over. The place is easy to find and fairly close to public transit. But there were only 2 picnic tables to sit on while waiting for your tour to start...it was a little cramped. And the helmets looked like they have seen better days. At least they didn't make us wear the vests with the reflectors!!! Tour started on time. There were about 25-30 people on the tour so at first it was a little crowded, but there were 2 tour guides so that helped when we eventually had to split into 2 groups. They first give you about a 30-40 min "tutorial" on how to use the Segway. Honestly best way to learn is to just hop on and go. (Note: volunteer to be first to get on your Segway. You then get more time to practice!). But it's pretty easy to get the hang of and in 5 min you'll be a pro :) Our tour was the Lakefront Tour. We went to Buckingham Fountain, Soilder Field, The lakefront path, old Meigs Field and a few other places. Our guide gave us a little history about each spot and did have us take a few breaks which was appreciated because your feet hurt like crazy after awhile. Wear comfy shoes! So my biggest gripe was that when we were split into 2 groups, we got stuck with the slower people. And slower people equal A) people who go slow, B) people who are afraid of the Segway and C) people who don't accelerate when going up a slight hill causing a pile-up on LSD. When this lady proceeded to crash into me, I had to fall off my Segway and so did my boyfriend. The tour guide was waaaay up ahead and didn't notice what was going on. Finally she saw and came buzzing to us, but we didn't even get an "Are you ok?" "Is anyone hurt?" Nothing! I thought that was pretty rude. Overall it was a good experience, bu if your looking more for a historical tour of Chicago, do a boat tour. This one is fun to zoom around the city while looking like a cool nerd. Some notes: - I wore flip flops and no one said i couldn't wear them. - They have mini packs on front for personal items. - Wear comfy shoes/flip flops

One of our many photos but this one includes our guide, Manny, in the bright blue shirt center stage. He was a real trooper!

Awesome!! We have been on Segway tours before and they are so much fun! Manny was our tour guide and he was fabulous. Funny. Attentive. Patient with the nervous nelly's and first timers. I highly recommend the Segway tour through Bike and Roll. Conveniently located at the edge of Millenium Park it is super easy to find. My only complaint would be the block we had to push our segways to the training center, uphill in hot hot hot hot hot hot sweltering heat. I have Multiple Sclerosis. That small chore for some was a huge feat for me.

A bike ride along Lakeshore Drive.
    Julie G.

As a tourist visiting Chicago we wanted to do this local annual bike ride. It was easy signing up for the event, renting bikes and finding the location. The ride along Lakeshore Drive starting at 5:30 am was breathtaking. It's not everyday that you can ride along Lake Michigan. Even with a few scattered showers after mile 7, we immensely enjoyed the bike ride. Don't let those small highway inclines fool you. You'll get a great work out! Driving over them is one thing, riding a bike over them is another! Wow, my legs were sore later that night. We headed Northbound on our ride and were too tired, or too inexperienced, to attempt Southbound. We had a great time taking in the view and people watching. We'd like to do it again next year!

That isn't always convenient, but it is a nice option to have. I really appreciate being able to watch the mechanic work since they do the work outside. If there is going to be a wait, the lakefront is a short walk and an enjoyable way to kill time. A few weeks ago I had the day off to bike around the lakefront. My bike was squeaking and rattling and needing a little care and saw there was no line there. The mechanic took a look, roughed up and adjusted my brake pads, and cleaned the wheel and inflated it. When I ask what I owed him, he didn't charge me anything. Just a straight up act of kindness on his part. I hope that good karma he put out comes back to him and this place.

I used the Lyft app. In every instance, there were multiple bikes, including with e-assist, at the nearest station; the first one I pulled out worked fine; and they appeared clean and kept up very nicely. My experience extends from New York City to Washington, D.C. to San Francisco (and scooters in Los Angeles). I have reported here, as a regular user, that I'd estimate many docks are empty, at least of the models with e-assist; a third of the bikes are in disrepair; and minor issues such as sticky handlebars or trash left in the front bin are common. I continue to use this service because it is effective. I'm also mindful the price point likely allows for not that much profit, the users in the system (like me) are treating these objects without reverence (as you would your own fancy e-bike), and they sit outside exposed to the elements. Thus, if you take everything into account, what the company must be calculating is the minimum level of functionality to retain subscribers and lure casual users, consistent with a modicum of profit. That is the reality. So I continue to ride. But I felt I should post to say of the major metropolitan areas I have named, I'd rate Divvy in Chicago as the best, based on three uses.
