One of the worst experiences ever with Bill King's Movers. The owner was extremely rude. The only good thing about our experience was the main mover who was extremely apologetic. A week in advance the owner Bill told me they would be there at 8am. I explained I had to work around my work schedule. He reassured me more than once that they would only be 3 hours. Our condo isn't too big. Only two bedrooms, living room and family room. The second bedroom didn't even have furniture in it. The night before, around 5 pm, Bill calls me to let me know that something came up, and they have to move us to 10:30. That something was another job. He waited until the last minute to let me know, so I had to fix my work schedule. Wednesday morning, I rush to the condo to make sure I'm there by 10:30. 10:45 rolls around and no call. I called Bill and he told me 12:00. FINALLY at 1:30 three guys show up. THREE hours later they are still trying to load the truck up with our furniture from the condo. The two helpers kept taking smoke breaks, the main guy was busting his ass trying to get everything moved. Finally bill sends two more workers (how nice of him to finally send two more men). It took them 6 hours to more my small little condo to a three bedroom house (two empty bedrooms, NO boxes). The worst was the two sofas. That's IT. They didn't even have to put the bed back together for us. By far the worst movers ever. Do not use them. The owner is a complete asshole. He finished our experience by screaming at my boy friends mom when he expected to get 600 dollars, DOUBLE what he told us. read more

We went into this move with high hopes. Bill King moving was recommended from a friend and they had a great experience so take it for what it's worth. This is just our experience. We moved out of our condo, left our stuff in his storage for two months and then moved into our townhouse. The move out was fine. His workers are professional and they work hard. They didn't damage anything in the way out and did it all in a reasonable amount of time. The price was pretty close to the quote so no problem there. The move into the condo wasn't THAT bad. The problem is that they were 4 hours late. We had people show up to help us and the. Sit around for hours. Eventually they had to leave and we were stuck by ourselves. The movers showed and did a good job. A few plates and bowls were damaged but that's normal for any move. We had paid for mattress covers but they never installed them. They refunded us but still, our mattresses were uncovered for months in storage. When I called to ask about why he was 4 hours late he literally told me "well that just happens. There's nothing I can do." Yes, there is. You run a professional business. Be professional. Show up on time or compensate us for YOUR lateness. I won't say you shouldn't use them, but we won't for our next move. I guess it's just hit or miss with movers. read more

Do not use Bill King's Moving Service from Cherry Hill, NJ, unless you want to be overcharged, have your instructions ignored, be left with a mess, and be treated with disrespect. This company has moved me for a total of four times over the years; the last two times (which were over a four month period due to construction issues) were a nightmare. At the start of the last move, I walked the job with the foreman, and gave specific instructions - that they keep my bedroom door closed and move the rest of the house first so that my cat could stay calm in familiar surroundings. The first door they opened was the bedroom, and within minutes, the cat was gone. With the front door [and garage] wide open, I thought we had lost him. After two hours of frantic searching, he was found in the house between two boxes, scared to death. That was two hours of lost moving time - time for which Bill King CHARGED me $340! Aside from ignoring my instructions and price gouging me for the consequences, the company charged me $2,140 to move FIVE MINUTES away; the "travel time" alone came to $85. I could have walked it in 10 minutes. Considering they did none of the packing (for this particular move), I thought this was exorbitant, especially since just a few months earlier he had charged me $2,806 to move me into the home he was now moving me out of (again, just a short distance away - all within the same small town that measures 2.8 square miles). I called Bill to discuss the fees and other concerns, but he insisted his company was not responsible for the two hour cat fiasco delay. When I explained that his foreman and I had discussed it during a walk-through, he said "the message did not get through". In addition, his workers dumped boxes wherever they wanted (not in the specific rooms for which they were clearly labeled), and they were unable to reconstruct a bed that was taken apart during the previous move because "that employee no longer works for Bill King's Moving Company." I remained calm and professional, and tried to explain all of my concerns regarding his company, but in the end Bill King not only dismissed my grievances, but called me an "a** h***" and hung up on me. I was shocked. As a businesswoman, I would never think of alienating a customer who just spent approximately $5,000 in a two month period of time with my company, let alone address her with an obscenity. I highly recommend using anyone BUT Bill King if you are moving. read more

Quick summary - I would hire them again in a second. After much apprehension and research over find movers, I gave Bill King's a try. Bill personally came out to do an estimate and was very professional. He gave everything a quick, but thorough lookover, and then wrote it all out for me on the spot. I get estimates from a few other companies too. Bill beat them pricewise, which always makes me nervous. After all was said and done, they came in significantly under the estimate, so that was even better. Despite the slush and snow, the movers were on time. 1 was a few minutes late, but jumped into step as soon as he arrives. Everyone was extremely polite and respectful. They packed up all my furniture and even a few extras that weren't on the agenda in significantly less time than we were expected. They arrived at my new house and respected my new carpet, only had a few guys inside and the rest hauling. One guy was assembling the furniture while the rest hauled and moved. Overall the foreman was a bit of a crank, but the guys all did what I wanted. Even with the slow down of half the guys in the house and half out, they did a fantastic job. A few pieces of furniture had minor nicks here or there, but frankly, that's to be expected. I've done worse brushing up against everything. Even "confusing" assembly for furniture was expertly handled. After all was said and done, they were completed in half the time and significantly cheaper than quoted, even after tip. read more

This is the WORST MOVING COMPANY I HAVE EVER USED STAY AWAY FROM IT!!!! I had a terrible experience - they ruined an antique cabinet that was moved only 20 miles to my home. They placed it on a hand truck without padding it and chipped it in numerous places and ruined it!!! Then the movers actually lied to me and claimed that they had inspected it before moving it!!! When I tried to verify this I found out they had completely falsified the whole thing!!! Terrible service and Bill King does not care at all about this customers or how they treat their customers furniture. Do not use them!!!!! read more

If you value your furniture or your money, do yourself a favor and stay far away from Bill King's Moving & Storage - especially the storage part. In short, through his inept storage, he destroyed my whole house full of furniture, and then refused to even talk to me about it. I currently have a judgement against Bill King and his Moving and Storage Company for $15k (it would be more, but that's the maximum I could in the Special Civil Part) for the destruction of virtually all of my furnishings. The condition of things were so bad, as to indicate downright maliciousness intent when my items were put into the storage facility that he controlled (although I would have never guessed it by the amiable demeanor of Bill King himself...perhaps its a lack of control of some bad employees?). At any rate, the ironic thing is, this was the second time I used him for moving, and for that part of it the service was actually pretty good...but apparently these folks just literally throw your items around in storage, as, again, all the furniture was virtually destroyed. I would have never suspected as such from my prior experience, but that's what happened to me... I would have very much wanted to talk to Bill King about it, but once this destruction was discovered, he suddenly refused to answer phone calls, texts, and any mail (regular or certified). In fact, as of today, I filed a warrant for him for his failure to answer an Information Subpoena from the Court in this case. It really is sad, because I really don't think Mr. Bill King himself knew anything about the destruction of my property by his employees at the time, but nevertheless, I've suffered severe financial damage and the man has ignored every phone call, letter (regular and registered) from me and the Court in this matter. He has irrefutably refused to take any responsibility for what happened. read more

A horrible experience from beginning to end. NOTE: I was only moving literally across a parking lot to another apt in my complex. First they arrived and refused to move any of my belongings because they were "dirty"(they were dusty because having 30 stitches in my arm made cleaning/packing difficult). It took 90 min of arguing with boss/crew to rectify, in which later they try to bill me for this time spent arguing. Then about 1/4 of my boxes weren't moved because they didn't meet the requirements for long haul moving (again only moving across a parking lot. Then contrary to statements made they refused to move the furniture I wasn't taking to a dumpster ACROSS THE STREET. The whole time moving the crew made nasty comments about my apt (which I had not finished cleaning due to injury) and had the nerve to tell me to "Never call them again". Now I have to hire a 2nd mover to take care of the unmoved boxes and my unwanted furniture. To hell with Bill King Movers. read more

Bill King Moving and Storage moved my mom's stuff this week. They came on time, they were very efficient, patient and careful with all my mom's furniture and possessions. When we got to the new apartment, they put everything the way she wanted even when it meant moving the same dresser several times until she was satisfied with the placement. Bill King's Movers provided superior service when I moved my 86-year-old mother from her home to a retirement community. I met Bill King when he came to do the estimate, and he is a true gentleman. I dealt 6 different workers --once, the day they packed my mother's many fragile antiques and then the day they moved her. Every single person, Bill and all his employees, was completely professional, but what I appreciated the most was their friendly,helpful attitudes. They arrived early both days, so we didn't have to wait anxiously wondering when they would show up. Both the packing and the moving were incredibly fast. And when my mother's 105" couch didn't fit in the elevator, the guys carried it up three flights of steps to her apartment. Oh yeah, and the bill came in $260 BELOW the estimate. Bill King Moving is the most unprofessional moving company I have ever experienced. After scheduling a move with Bill King over a month in advance Bill himself called my 76 yr old mother the day of the move, after the scheduled move time to inform her that he's not sure if his movers are going to make it, he told her that "this stuff happens" and she should expect this with a move. She started crying as she had to vacate her home because of a family tragedy and had to move on her scheduled day and Bill screamed at her and said "stop patronizing me". We were appaulled by his behavior ! I would NEVER recommend Bill King Movers, the owner does not care at all about his customers, and is very rude. If you have a problem with your move or if one of his guys is late he will cancel on you last minute and will not care about your situation! He caused us so much stress and we ended up finding another company as he left us hanging and did not care. Hope you find this review helpful. read more

We have moved many times and this latest move was terrible. The management is disorganized, hands-off, did not pack our patio furniture or master closet.
