Nothing fancy or special about this place as a facility itself. Currently owned by CubeSmart, no longer known by any other name. Special shout out to Herisha who was incredible at their job and made renting a new space easy and quick. Remember, as a general rule, storage rental facilities are largely unregulated which means they can raise your rent with 30 days notice to pretty much any amount they want and they know they have you on the hook because you won't want to relocate your stuff. If you get a quoted price online, lock it in for six month or a year by pre-paying if you can. ALSO remember - you can get your own rental unit insurance from any number of companies for half what the rental unit companies will charge you and bring in proof of insurance at the time you rent (but you MUST do it in person). ALSO ALSO remember - you can also bring your own secure lock and not pay $20 for one of their locks. They are closing soon- like in the next few weeks. If you have stuff there you must make arrangements to remove it. Be aware that there is no organization to move out and everything is first come first serve including carts & access to the loading doc. Remember here is only one elevator so be prepared to wait. Also, if there are to vehicles backed up to loading dock there is no space to walk around them. You can't get your moving cart out of the elevators because there are others unloading. It was a mess and a really disappointing experience since we have been customers for several years. read more

I don't understand how one could think they can run a successful business when they have a) "managers" who talk to potential customers like they are idiots b) incorrect information on their website and c) hours that are completely and totally inconvenient to a large portion of the general public. If your hours say that you are closed at 7:00, but in actuality you need to get people out of the building by 5:45, you should state that somewhere on your site. That is an hour and 15 minute difference for someone that is attempting to rent a space. Your website says office hours are until 7:00. Not storage hours. That means that up until 7:00 you should be open to at least answer questions. Also, the person that answered the phone in no way is a manager as he stated. You don't need to speak slowly to me as if I didn't understand you. If you really are a manager, then shame on you. You should know better. Now all I can do is simply not rent a space there, which isn't much, but I would like people to know what the operations of this place are like, since you guys do such an awful job of informing people. read more

My first experience with a self-storage facility. The lady at the front desk was helpful and showed me various units before I decided what size I wanted to rent. The facility is clean and seems well taken care of. The units are all monitored by video camera. The only downside is the elevator is very slow. Overall though it's a nice place to store your stuff. read more

Convenient if you live in the city, loading dock and easy access to most units as it's just one floor. Regular email updates related to holiday hours and billing updates and feels very safe any time I am here. I definitely recommend this place for long or short term storage space, especially if you required a climate controlled space for your stuff. My only wish is that they would build more units. When I requested downsizing my 10x10 to a smaller unit, they were at max capacity. Not sure if this was because of the late summer timeframe or if I just lucked out when I scored a 10x10 a handful of months ago. There was no idea of a timeframe for when more units would become available when I inquired. read more

Been with them 2 months I'm happy everything is inside secure and friendly staff. Recommended to anyone only bad thing end or 1st of month the only 2 loading bays get filled and a line forms so try to move mid month. Or get THERE EARLY read more

Was lunching at shanks and needed to use the facilities. Front desk gentleman was very helpful and pleasant. The bathroom was clean spic and span! Very very pleasant smell. Tissues and deodorant spray readily available. read more

This place is hands down the BEST place to store your belongings. The staff and especially the manager are exceptionally nice and accommodating. The storage area and units are extremely clean and well lit. My husband had to store a lot of household items to clean up prior to selling our house. Everyone working there bent over backwards to help. I cannot thank them enough. read more

Pier 40 is an excellent storage company! Friendly and helpful at all times. Secure, nice facilities. Unique location and building. Ability to rent and dropoff Budget trucks right there is a huge time saver, especially when you're busy moving. Would definitely recommend. read more
