This award can only be awarded once, but each year we have contacted the winner and compared their accuracy with ours and we have far exceeded their accuracy percentage. In the last filing season our percentage of electronic returns accepted the first time was 98.85%." ***********************Terrible Attitude******************* ****************** Better to do it yourself ***************** I have been using various tax services (HR, Jackson, etc) since 2003, I have to say that today I found the worst. My friend asked me about this firm since she saw the good reviews on Yelp. I felt the reviews are fishy (almost all of them were written in early 2011 at the same time). Anyway, we went there today at 11:20am. They pre-charged my friend $75 for the appointment, something I never encountered before. My friend's tax was simple. It took them no much time to input everything. Almost all of the tax service that I used before provided some advice on how to save on tax. And I always save a lot on tax even --- after paying the fees to the accountant. This firm is the only one that you will not learn anything from. The lady only answered some questions asked advice on how to save on tax. The worst part came at the end. I suggest that my friend ask them whether she could get papers from them and mail the forms to IRS ( not doing the efiling). The secretary answered with a firm, rude "No!" Come on, my friend paid them $200 and they just spent 30 minutes or so. Why cannot you print your customer the forms and let them mail it?! The reason, they were too lazy to do it. Just to update my previous post, I wanted to further reinforce what I had earlier written. I have since spoken with 3 elderly women who are all long term Tracyites. All three had utilized Bill Pollard, Sr. while he was alive and all stated how kind, careing, and compassionate he was. Additionally, it was noted how he spent whatever amount of time was necessary to facilitate the completion of their taxes. Unfortunately, since utilizing Bill, Jr., he has been described as dishonest with his billing, misrepresents himself, and shows no remorse for his actions. Our family was looking for a new tax preparer because our current preparer is retiring. My boss referred us to Bill Pollard's tax office. She's been going for years and had referred other coworkers who use the Pollard tax office as well. So it was our first time meeting Kimberly at the beginning of March to do our taxes. We sent over our tax returns for previous three years like they asked ahead of time. When we got there, front office staff was welcoming and professional. Kim came out to meet us and had all of our profiles already created in her computer. She was very thorough and efficient. She explained the differences between our 2017 tax return vs 2018. We liked how two other sets of eyes check the return before we signed them as well. Our family was done within an hour from start to finish with signing. I didn't really found the staff friendly or un-friendly, just normal people doing their job on a Sunday. However, I give 1 star because it's way overpriced for the job that is done. It's more than a lawyer's fees. $90 + $20 Obamacare fee (apparently new) for less than 10' in the office. That's not right and not honest. Once the tax preparer has done his job, they ask you to wait for the taxes to be reviewed. The problem is that that wait is longer than filling the taxes. What did I pay for then? Not happy at all :( I hope they will see this review and try to explain me why they are so expensive and try to keep me as a customer. read more

This office was recommended to me by a few people because of their stellar service. Last year was our first year and I was pleased with how efficient the whole office is. Been using Bill Pollar's office (Tim) for maybe 7 years now, since my previous tax genie declared she didn't do business taxes (and surprise, I started one of those beasts). Tim's fantastic with getting the official forms prepared in an official way, but also bringing up items worth fixing or doing better to improve the bottom line. And my bottom line: the tax genie managed to have me write those painful checks to my Uncle a few times -- though I didn't do anything differently those years -- yet between the business and Tim's guidance, the only checks in the mail are coming INTO the mailbox, not going out of it. read more

Best Tax assistance of n Tracy, im a independent contractor and they helpeed me out tremendously ! I had no idea I had so many write offs. He took some time to answer general tax questions over the phone, and his office quickly got us a list of paperwork to drop off at the office. At our appointment Tim was able to explain things in an easy to understand manner and even found several mistakes a previous accountant made on our prior year's return, which ended up in a large refund. Their Monday free call in hour is great, as is their free mid year review. We just went through the mid year review process and it definitely helped ease our worries about having a large tax bill at the end of the year. For 10+ years we have had our taxes completed by Bill Pollard's office. The past few - by Tim Wheeler. For personal tax prep we decided to pay for the service because the preparation and submission was quick, efficient and complete. For our small business tax prep - we felt confident their knowledge and expertise would serve us well - regardless of the price. This year - we unfortunately had a tax related question that was part of a business negotiation the first week of January 2013. We called weeks before the answer was required and have never received a response. When I reached a live person in mid January (tax season is upon them now...); the response was " he does not return calls during tax season". When I explained this was not our first call - the response was the same. So, an established customer/client who has paid thousands of dollars over the years for small business tax prep & personal tax prep is not worthy of a return phone call? We'll take our small business, our referrals and personal tax work elsewhere. If I ran my business this way -- I'd be out of business. read more

Worst tax help. We were not sufficiently helped and repeatedly charged after our initial fee that also included insurance in case we needed extra help. We got a call to set our appointment for this year's tax returns and in the same breath they told us they couldn't finish last year's until May. Terrible. read more

Very unhappy with their service... tax preparer kept typing stuff without reviewing it with me. Trying to decrease it for me but end up doing something that I might get in trouble for and which I could have decreased it myself if I would have not felt rushed and without worrying to be red flagged. I end up owing money when I should have got money back because it wasnt discussed with me what was typed in and I realized later that something was off so I called them but apparently I already signed for it. Feeling betrayed it took them 10 mins and they charged $275 and left me worried while I end up owing money when i should have gotten money back! read more

I have been with Pollard for 10 years until last year's taxes. I strayed last year to someone more local, and I learned my lesson. I recently spoke to the tax person I used last year, and was told I would owe approx $2k in taxes after an informal review. I went back to Pollard for a second opinion. After going back to Pollard (Timothy Wheeler actually- in Pollard's office) it turns out I get back just over $3k in refunds. Needless to say I am very happy. I had a really great experience last year with Kimberly in the Stockton office which is why I travelled all the way from my new home in Reno to do my taxes with her again this year when I was home for a long weekend visiting family. I was immediately disappointed when I sat down with her this year. She very rudely asked Why I was here...?! Since I live out of state, then questioned a lot of my information in a really rude manner. If she would have taken 2 seconds to look over my tax info from last year I did with them, it wouldn't have been a question. I felt very uncomfortable, received a lot of attitude when I asked a question which made me feel dumb. I was so sad because I really thought I found a great place to do my taxes at every year. I can't believe I spent $280 for this awful experience, it definitely won't happen again. I really hope she was just having a bad day, I would never recommend her after the experience I had. read more
