Bill seems like a nice guy even though he charged me $500 for a small ceiling repair. He said his rate is $50-$60 per hour so I was expecting them to be here most of the day but they spent a total of 3-4 hours between the 2 visits. I'm still confused by the math, but if he had done the job right I wouldn't complain. These lumps were there when I moved in. They were on the walls too and another painter was able to sand, float and texture them and you would never know there was a repair, so this isn't an impossible task. Instead of sanding these lumps first, then floating, then texturing, Bill and his guy took a shortcut and just floated around them, when that didn't work his guy came back and sanded the lumps but didn't float or texture properly so the ceiling still looks terrible. Bill ignored my last request to refund my money so I could have someone else do it right. Shoddy work. Buyer beware. read more

We recently used Bill to have the exterior of our house painted. The price was fair, the work was great and the service was friendly. The only reason I can't give a full 5 stars is because of the minor hiccup of a dog getting loose ( long story to post about) but the company tried really hard to make it right. Ok, I do not do a many reviews good or bad, but sometimes something is so good/bad that you just have to say something. We bought a home that needed extensive remodel and repair. We started with the inside, and now it was time, especially after the rains we had to have our house painted, and we knew it was going to be a big job. We got several references and many different opinions. We only used licensed contractors. It was amazing the different responses. The prices were from unbelievably low to ridiculously high. We were so confused, and then a friend recommended Bill Zemba. I called and he came out. He told me it would take a crew of aprox. four about four weeks, I thought that was long..but Bill explained that the previous owners had improperly painted a coat of Elastameric paint over another paint, and had not primed. The result was heavy bubbling and cracking. and the wood windows were in such bad shape that the paint was peeling cracking and exposing raw wood. One of the wood balconies needed repair. It was as he said a real challenge. Bill gave us a price that was on the high end of the quotes we got. My husband and I talked it over for several days, checked references and decided that we would go with Bill. Bill and his team delivered on all levels. It actually took nearly 5 weeks but it was well worth it. I have had many houses, and many painted, but the attention to detail was remarkable. Every inch was sanded, primed, and painted. He was patient with my color choices, The men (and one woman) were pleasant, and clean. Our expectations were exceeded and I am not easy to please. I have a couple of pick up issues that I have not called Bill on yet, but I am so assured that he will take care of them that I am writing this review anyway. Just a super experience. read more

around my house, Bill Zemba's name is gold. his terrific work is clean, he shows up when he says, and he has a strong work ethic. his painting has always been efficient and well done. when he painted our valencia house 15 years ago, he did a great job. this year, we were having a stucco arch replaced, and the contractor was trying to match the color of Zemba's exterior paint. the contractor asked if i knew what the color was and what brand. i said, "no idea, let's call Bill." 15 years later he picked up the phone on the 2nd ring and not only knew the answer off the top of his head, but he knew what the color's new name was, and how to mix it to match! he offered to meet me at dunn edwards and make me a sample from scratch. the contractor said that wasn't necessary - he had enough to go on. the colors matched beautifully, and 3 months later i can't see where the two jobs meet. the next week, we called to see if Bill wanted to refresh his 15-year old interior paint job because we're selling our house. he accepted and toward the end of the job, he discovered some dry-rotted wood in the top of the frame of an atrium french door that sits in the sun all day. we seldom go in there and didn't see it. he replaced the rotted section of the wood frame, showed it to us, and never charged for it. he could easily have said he didn't see it, or painted over it, and we never would have known. in my book, Zemba is trustworthy, honest, reasonable, and hard working. giving him a call before he decides to be "gone fishing" for good would be a smart thing to do. read more

Bill Zemba painting greatly exceeded our expectations. We had a lot of little jobs inside and outside of our house. On the interior we had a roughly patched ceiling in the kitchen, a corner where the metal corner protector somehow rusted and the nearby drywall was deteriorating, a curved crown molding that had shrunk and had gaps, etc. On the outside, the exterior accent popouts that were stucco covered had chipped and faded badly, the garage doors and frames were in need of TLC, back and side doors had peeled chipped frames and our iron gates had peeled and chipped. We had several companies give estimates. Bill Zemba was in the middle of the range we got. More importantly, his deep knowledge of our house's problems (he said he repaired and painted peeling stucco covered popouts all the time in Santa Clarita) gave us confidence and we weren't wrong! Project started right on time, his crew arrived promptly each day, were quiet, professional and did an excellent job and they did it QUICKLY. Amazing how much progress was made each day. Our house looks so much better. And did I mention his prices were very competitive? Will use Bill Zemba Painting again! read more

Bill Zemba Painting replaced damaged wood, patched stucco & painted my 2 story house. These guys are nice enough and do the simple / easy things well, like pressure washing & spraying paint. More complicated things, not so much. There are 7/8" gaps between stucco & trim around the garage door, mis-matched stucco patches, paint splatters on concrete, patio & screens and damaged roof tiles. 2 concrete roof tiles were broken outward from the center, like they do if stepped on wrong, It rained a week or two after they spent a couple days on my roof, it leaked damaging the ceiling of an upstairs room. I spoke with Bill and he says it is impossible for them to break any roof tiles and there is nothing he can do. The house does look much better than when they started tho. It's 20/20 now, From 20 feet, at 20 mph it looks OK. Maybe better since I used the leftover paint to touch up. Don't let them on your roof and inspect closely before final payment. They are not eligible for rehire. read more

It took me a long time to write this review because I do not like leaving bad reviews. When I purchased my home (2013) some sections had popcorn ceilings. I hired Bill Zemba to remove it and although it was pricey I figured it was worth removing it at any price. I had been talking with Bill and mentioned to him that eventually I would be putting crown molding but that it was going to be at a later time. I was at work when the job was done but I took a long lunch break to meet with him and give him the last payment. When I saw the work that was done I was highly disappointed. The edges of the roof were sloppy and looked just horrific. I asked him why his crew didn't complete the job by sanding the edges down and he said because I was going to put crown molding anyway. I told him that I was eventually planning on doing that but not anytime soon. he said to call him and he would come back to fix it and he left. I felt this was so unprofessional and just plain sloppy as if he didn't care. I didn't want him back in my home so I didn't call him back to fix it. I figured if he didn't care enough to provide impeccable work, no matter the job, it wasn't worth it. That was my experience with him and I would never recommend him to anyone else. read more

Bill and his team are fantastic! They are reliable, show up early, and most importantly do impeccable work! They painted the interior of my entire house. Not only did they have to fix some mistakes of a previous painter, I asked them to complete the job in 2 phases in order to accommodate my new tile floors going in. He worked around my changing schedule several times with the utmost professionalism. The crew was polite and trustworthy and always cleaned up after each day. Bill and his crew did a great job painting the exterior of our home. He was professional and thorough from the start. My wife liked him immediately which is always a good indicator for me. He provided us with a detailed estimate including repairs to be made and materials to be used. Most contractors only provided us with a price and no details on how the house would be prepped and the quality of the materials to be used. He did an amazing job on the exterior of my home and he did not make a mess. His price was the 2nd lowest but I chose him because of the way he treated me during the estimate process. After I hired another painter that simply was not getting the job done, I was in a pinch and needed the job to be done in less than three days. I found Bill online and called him. From the moment I spoke to him, I knew he was legit. He showed up that morning and him and his crew began work that afternoon. Needless to say, I should have hired him from the beginning. He and his crew did an amazing job painting almost 3,000 sq feet in less than three days. We purchased a new home that needed the interior to be repainted. Initially, I really enjoyed working with Bill. He was easy to work with and patient when I was indecisive about colors. His crew was friendly and respectful. Overall, we were pretty happy with the job. However, there were two places in the house where the brushstrokes were sloppy and there is a lot of wall color that transferred to the ceiling. I called Bill and he said he would be by in the next few weeks to take care of it. Unfortunately, Bill failed to communicate when he was going to go back to the house. The locks had been changed since Bill had been there last and the lock box was no longer available for use. Had Bill informed us of the day he was going to be there, I would have arranged to be there to meet him. I asked when he could come back out so I could meet him and he said he was going on vacation and couldn't come back out for 2 weeks. We called him 2 weeks later and he said, "maybe next week." We called the following week and he said he's very busy with other jobs and then he's going on vacation again. Maybe the middle of August. At this point, it's obvious he is not coming back. read more
