This is definitely an Oakland vibe out spot. It is chill. Service is friendly and quick. Surprisingly there was no real wait for when I went on a Saturday night. The cool part is that you can order food from outside (discounts for pizza spots) and they have some free snacks in the middle to try. Talk about a great little pool hall. Front counter guy was fantastic. Table played well. We went on a warmer day and it was toasty in there. Considerably warmer inside than outside. Friday late afternoon early evening and all but one table was occupied. read more

Private lot with a dozen spaces. Gets crowded quickly in the evening. Free snacks and $1-2 soda/water/gatorade. At only $10/hr, they also prorate. I noticed the nice timer next to your table that indicates how much time you have been tracked to have used so far. Really cool! This is the place to come to with friends. I come here often with a group of friends and we stay here for hours and hours lol you can bring your own food and drinks which I really love because not most places do that. They also sell drinks and have complimentary snacks. The atmosphere here is very laid back and chill. I recommend this place to anyone who loves to play pool. I would say come before 6-7pm because anything after that good luck since it gets busy and people tend to stay for hours. read more

I must have driven or walked by this place 100 times since moving to Oakland, but I'm glad I finally decided to come here. The place was well lit and the crowd is mixed--not like the usual dark, grungy pool halls. All the tables were occupied, so there was a quick 15 minute wait while I helped myself to free candy and pretzels in the middle of the room. Sure why not? They also have a small fridge full of drinks like Gatorade or soda that you can buy for a couple of dollars. My hour came and went just like that. I haven't been to a pool hall in a while so I can't tell you if $18/hr is expensive. All the people playing on a Sunday night didn't seem to mind. I noticed they also have a happy hour price of $10/hr. Overall, I had a good experience. It's a good place for a group of friend or a date after eating at the many nearby restaurants. read more

I love it here! Such a great place to shoot pool and meet cool people! The owner provided free food in celebration of NYE 2020!! The rates are by the hour and depending on the time and day you play. Very reasonable when 3 or more are playing to split the cost. The tables and general setup allows for comfortable play and great ambiance. Awesome atmosphere and the variety of music coming from the speakers kept the mood upbeat. Each table has a timer to help you keep track of your hourly play. Free candy, water, and snacks was a plus, indeed! There's plenty of off street parking in the back if the front parking lot is full. The owner is super welcoming and friendly! By far the best "pool hall" I have seen in the Bay Area, not just Oakland! (Buffalo Billiards in Petaluma is also fantastic, but it is a bit far to go for a few games, plus they have food, pinball, shuffleboard, darts, etc) But I digress. Sam Won is awesome! As other reviewers have noted, the tables are in great shape and kept very clean. The staff (usually just one) is great and friendly. The free licorice is cool too, but should be black licorice, because, duh, red licorice isn't really licorice, is it? Oops digressing again. But back to the tables! They have 1 or 2 billiard tables, i.e. no pockets, and accessories to play Carom, Billiards and some Korean version, for which I have not yet deciphered the rules! I think they have or did have a snooker table for those players who need some humbling! The owner is super nice. On a couple of occasions, Korean food is brought in to celebrate one thing or another and they are always eager to share with anyone there. (Korean Culture version of "Eat, darling, eat!) Some pool halls attract sketchy characters or just seem unwelcoming if not dangerous. I have NEVER seen any of that here. Occasionally, I have seen young groups of friends that can get silly and sometimes unaware of pool etiquette, but no worse than any other place. And if all of this isn't enough, they clean and polish your balls on a regular basis. (Insert joke her.) I only wish they opened at 11 a.m. or noon. read more

Cool little joint to shoot. They have a parking lot, which is pretty dark at night, but the doors to the place stay open so you can easily watch out for the bippers if you're worried. Cool staff, reasonable prices and complimentary snacks & candy which is cool. Place has a very welcoming vibe, like going to a family member's house to shoot. Not many other places to shoot in Oakland and this place is about as safe of a location as you're going to get in the Bay. I play here whenever I can. There's usually a waiting list if you come after 8:00 on weekends, but you just give them your phone number and they'll call you as soon as your table is ready. You can wait there or you can slide next door to the self-service car wash and clean your wheels while you wait, you know in case you run into a lil bop at the spot and want to get some attention. My friends and I had a great experience here! Super clean and tidy place. Owner is super chill and went by everyone's table to let us know that there were free snacks and candy on the table at the center of the building. Not a bad place to shoot pool. Pretty clean. I paid $12 for an hour of pool which is a good price for a friday night. There's about 3 billiards tables and the rest are regulation sized pool tables. The tables are very well maintained. There's at least one table I saw that has a ball return after you pocket it. I'm not sure about the house cues as I have my own cue stick. 50cent sodas from the vending machine and the free snacks are a nice touch as I have yet to step foot into a pool hall that offers something similar. I went outside to take a break and when I came back, the 4 ball was missing from my table. The lady at the register was nice about it though. When I went in there were only Korean clientele. It was a more diverse crowd by the time I left. My only complaint about this place is there's not enough room between the tables. I found myself kind of cramped if I had to shoot from the length-wise edge of the table. Moving the chairs out of the way didn't help. read more

Came here on a whim last night while waiting for Gogi Time nearby. This place is the cleanest billiards hall I've ever seen. Usually I think of billiards halls as dark inside, noisy, and greasy, but this place beats all of those things. It's well-lit, everything feels new, and there were even free-for-all snacks in the center. The man who helped us (the owner probably) was super chill and nice and we didn't have to wait at all. This has become our place since the old broken rack changed its biz model. No food, free small snacks w cheap sodas. Tables are nice, open 7 days a week. Got free parking so that balances the slightly higher hourly table price. I wish the solo price was less and that they would open earlier. But this is our place now once or twice each week.
