Walking into the shop, it doesn't look flashy at all. However, what you're there for is the food. And this shop impresses with their food. Maybe a bit pricier than other shops, but the ingredients used are all high quality. Compared to other Chinese take away restaurants that use mid-range quality ingredients, Choy Inn Chinese produces great tasting food with great ingredients. They also don't use MSG, which is a bonus. They do get quite busy on Fridays-Sundays, so waiting time will possibly be extended. They are also closed on Tuesdays. I get annoyed at stuff like this, especially when I'm hungry and could have got an extra special fried rice with that fiver! But what can you do? I don't think calling up again would achieve anything. So we ate our pad thai and combination chop suey with large special fried rice. The chop suey was tasty enough, but nothing special, and the rice didn't have a lot of flavour (or many ingredients to make it 'special'). The pad thai had melded into clumps, and had little flavour except for spice. What I love most in a good pad thai is its peanut flavour, but there was little here. Overall, a disappointment. We'll have to keep looking for a local favourite take-away.
