I'd get all showered and then run downstairs to get an espresso drink to go with my breakfast. The staff remembers all of the locals - and they even remembered MY name! IMPRESSIVE! When we visit Sydney again, I will go out of my way to ensure that I get coffee here again as often as possible during our visit. One of the best, most enjoyable coffee shops I've ever been to in the world.

I had the avocado balsamic toast with an egg and it ended up being one of the best meals I had in Sydney. The place is small but they have outdoor seating so I didn't have to wait. It seems quite popular in the neighborhood as the 3 times I went there during my trip they always had all tables in use and people seated outside. Definitely give them a try!

They were all good especially the brisket sandwich. The meat was very tender and juicy. I love that they used fresh arugula and pickled onion which balanced well with the meat. The tuna melt was very tasty as well. The sourdough bread was well toasted adding some crunchiness. I'll definitely go back for more.

There's just something about sitting out on Challis Ave with friends, perhaps with the paper or a book, that makes this place classic Sydney.

The café has a very European feel in its size, decor and ambience. Even the service felt European: efficient but far from in-your-face. Very popular with the gay crowd, too.
