Class act restaurant. Great vibe and energy. Staff professional. Food amazing. Hotcakes are your pancakes but made to rise. 10/10 for the hotcakes. They are very serious about coffee products. Had flat white. Excellent. Full Aussie breakfast is filling, has healthy ingredients, is good.

We just stopped here for a quick latte after a day trip to Palm Beach. I got a basic latte with almond milk. My girl friend got a black sesame latte. I personally have never heard of the drink but she raved about how yummy and innovative it was. It was a cute little shop. Can't wait to try a full blown breakfast next time. The servers were all friendly and quick.

Food was good. But I like the friendly feeling of Bills at Surry Hills better. The waitress here wasn't friendly at all... maybe a little bit rude. Luckily the young waiter/waitress were very nice.

This was a great suggestion for breakfast by our hotel concierge. Located in a residential area off the beaten path, Bills is clearly a favorite of the locals. After reading about the lines and the dreaded wait times at the various locations, we got there early as the stove was just heating up. Ricotta and banana hotcakes, three full Aussie breakfasts, and sweet corn fritters were what we ordered, along with a couple of hot chocolates, lattes, and black coffees. Although it sounded pretty standard - eggs, bacon, sausage, and toast - the full Aussie breakfast was really good! The eggs were so fluffy and they were seasoned! So often eggs are an afterthought and they have no flavor...not here! The pork, chili, and fennel sausage was delicious, as was the thick, hearty bread. Add a few herb garlic mushrooms and a cumin roasted tomato and there you have it...the full Aussie! If they could make a standard breakfast meal extraordinary, I knew the hotcakes would be good. The light, fluffy ricotta pancakes with bananas and honeycomb butter were a sight to behold and even better to taste. I also tried something a little different, the sweet corn fritters, which were like corn cakes but with more corn and less bread. These were interesting and while I liked them, a little dipping sauce would've worked well with them. I added the avocado salsa and I must admit that I was disappointed in it as it just seemed to be diced avocado. It needed some seasoning or other veggies or fruit to classify it as a salsa to me. As we were eating, the place began to get crowded and by the time we left, there was a line outside. We enjoyed seeing customers bring holiday gifts to the staff and folks who appeared to be regular customers coming in to grab a coffee and a pastry. It's good to get more of a local vibe while on vacation and Bills provided that - and a really good breakfast - for us!

Loved everything we had here! First, the walk to the restaurant through the Kong's cross and darlinghurst neighborhood was full of sights, architecture, and tons of ethnic restaurants to think about for later. I started with a Bloody Mary, just the right amount of spice and garnished with cucumber and cilantro (which I much prefer over pickles, okra, etc). I had the corn cakes with bacon and avocado. The corn cakes were savory and crunchy and moist all at the same time. The avocado salsa added just the right amount of freshness and citrus and the bacon just the right amount of salt. My husband essentially had the full Aussie, but did not get the sausage or pork. He thought his scrambled eggs were perfect and thought the flavors melded well. The service was excellent. Everyone was accommodating and kind and despite a busy morning, never showed any signs of distress. Will definitely be back!

Nestled on the corner of one of Sydney's fine neighborhood, Bills is a popular place of the locals. They are best known for their brunches and a relative of ours told us that we should check it out so we decided to stop by as our first meal in Australia. By the time we arrived at 10, the place was filled. Luckily there wasn't much of a line outside as I understand it can go down the street. After about waiting 10 min, we got a table for our decently large party. The menu is mostly pretty standard breakfast foods but with a few surprises. One is the fried rice that was a fairly large portion with shrimp and a little kicked to it at the end. It was a good dish and great way to help me start my day. We also got the corn fritters and those were ok. Bill's offers a modern type breakfast cooking standard breakfast fare REALLY well. The food here is delicious but for me not a rock my world kind of meal. I wouldn't mind going back but look forward to exploring more of the food scene around town!

Great spot for brunch in Darlinghurst. The service was very friendly and the space is super cute and bright. This place was busy & filled with locals when I stopped in, so I knew it was legit! Really enjoyed my full Aussie -- everything was fresh and well-cooked. Omg the scrambled eggs were AMAZING. Something I noticed in Australia is that the eggs (yolks) are hella orange compared to the ones in the States. Lol probably means their more fresh right? IDK but they taste great!! I would definitely stop by Bills and would return if I'm in Sydney again. :) [50/100]

The Fresh Aussie is all things fresh. Kale, perfectly poached egg, cherry tomatoes, avocado (smash it up) and parsley. Bill's Bloody Mary is bloody good too and the perfect breakfast pick me up. I enjoy breakfast at Bill's, always brimming with friendly locals and casual in its layout and atmosphere. This venue is the original Bill's and, of Bill's many UK and AU establishments, is still one of the best.

Bill's is ever popular and you can guarantee that if coming for breakfast on a weekend you'll find yourself waiting up to 20 mins or more for a table. I lived in Sydney for 3.5 years without experiencing Bill's but that all changed this past weekend. Bill's, a favourite for our Sydney-based family, was top of their list of place to take us to for a leisurely Sunday brunch so wait we did. To the credit of the staff our table was available far quicker than I'd anticipated from reading Yelp reviews for this location and the Surry Hills cafe. So, Sydney-siders I know this cafe has a bit of a reputation as "THE" spot for a breakfast in the Emerald City and granted, my zucchini fritters with natural yoghurt, haloumi, a poached eggs and salad greens with the Bill's Raw smooth (almond milk, LSA, cocoa and banana) were good and delivered quickly to the table, but I'm struggling to understand the fuss. There's plenty of equally and possibly better breakfasts and brunches to be had in laneways, suburban streets and hidden spots across your fair city that I just don't get what's so special about this particular one. If you find yourself dining with die-hard fans of Bill Grainger or a fan of a consistently good breakfast then by all means take a spot in the line and enjoy a wholesome and efficiently served meal here.

I leave 50m away from Bills. New in town, I was always wondering why were people queuing every weekend outside this small cafe. Having been there twice now - I understand. The restaurant layout is very convivial and warm, making me think about a Scandinavian cafe. Newspapers are spread on the tables to have The food is amazing: ricotta hotcakes are a must, and so are scrambled eggs. The best I ever had (I would not imagine how big the difference would be!). For lunch I also loved green tea noodles with salmon. So tasty and fresh. So yes there is often a queue but it is definitely well deserved and worth it.

Awww Bills I really really wanted to come here a second time during my trip in Sydney but unfortunately I didn't get the chance to come back. I looooooove Bills. Luckily when we came during the holidays, we only had to wait 5 minutes for a table. This just might be my favorite western style brunch restaurant in the world. They have THE BEST scrambled eggs I've ever had. They're perfectly light and fluffy. They add just the right amount of cream to get this kind of texture. I dream of these beautifully fluffy eggs. Ricotta Pancakes- These were so good that we ordered another plate after eating everything else. I'm sure they hated us for it because there were a lot of other groups waiting for tables and we had to wait a while to get our second order of pancakes. I think it was the best decision we made the entire trip though. Those pancakes were AMAZING!! Coconut Bread- mmmm it was just the right amount of sweetness and the coconut flavor was not overpowering. Full Aussie Breakfast- comes with scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, mushroom, tomato, and toast. It was perfect. Green Juice- can't remember exactly what was in it, but it was really refreshing and delicious!

I came here for the famous ricotta pancake and certainly worth the trip. Restaurant is clean and bright, easily accessible.

Also this is usually a 2nd option for a lot of people when the line at Fratelli Paradiso across the road is too long... My experience here was really good. The coffee was excellent and the breakfast of eggs with bacon done well. Oh and I had a side of David Wenham. I dropped my menu and he was the guy at the adjacent table that picked it up for me. I said thanks and he said you're welcome. Then I did the double take and my friend was about to lose it. But luckily we both kept calm and tried to concentrate on my eggs. This is apparently his favourite breakfast place and also of many other beautiful people in Sydney due to the good coffee. So if you want a bit of sparkle with your coffee, Spring Espresso is where to go to stalk...errr....eat lol.

Each has only about 4 places to sit, in the entryway or on the pavement, and our guide book suggested picking whichever had the first free seat. We sat at Spring Espresso and had a fabulous breakfast. This isn't hard in Australia, but this one was tops for quality and the chic feel. My waffles with fruit were perfect; the coffee was heaven. The café has a very European feel in its size, decor and ambience. Even the service felt European: efficient but far from in-your-face. Very popular with the gay crowd, too.
