However, what makes My Favorite Place different is that they are more flea market than consignment/antique store, and this is something that they fully embrace and own! We have popped into My Favorite Place a couple of times over the years in search of things we never knew we needed. MFP is a treasure trove of used items ranging from trinkets to furniture that are stacked from wall to wall and floor to ceiling, they even have pieces outside lining the sidewalk. To go back to the "flea market" comment, that is truly what the items here are. The store feels like one big yard sale with majority of the items simply being used and old, not really antiques or collectibles. Due to this and the way things are stacked and shelved, a lot of items are pretty beat up. They have a solid selection of furniture pieces, but again they are chipped and worn. If you are after furniture and plan to finish it yourself, then MFP is a solid option for you! Prices are fair and decent for everything in here, even the furniture. The pricing reflects the condition, so again if you are a DIY-er, then you can really find some great deals and good pieces here. My favorite thing about this store is that it's the type of place where you will unexpectedly find a treasure. For example, I bought my parents' Christmas gift here---a beautiful Japanese black-lacquer box with intricate mother-of-pearl inlay. Although this type of box is not uncommon, this particular find was, for a number of reasons, unlike any other I have ever seen. The price was incredible, too. If you don't find something you like the first try, go back in a few months because it seems like the kind of store that gets some great pieces at reasonable prices. Quite a nice surprise when other antique stores in Roswell seem to jack up their prices.

The home decor styles they have here are definitely my taste but above my current budget. Bet you didn't know they did re-upholstery, did you? Neither did I until City Issue referred me to them. Apparently they do some of City Issue's mid century modern furniture re-upholstery. For starters I bought this absolutely gorgeous mid century Dux chair that was covered in this hideous stained fabric that I knew I could get redone to look more period; the price was good so I had to buy it. After I bought the chair I had an email convo with one of the designers to get a quote for my chair and ottoman. I provided her with pictures and dimensions. She gave me the quote, $350 which isn't that much considering the front and back needed to be replaced as well as the ottoman. She also asked me to come in and pick a fabric. They have loads of fabrics to choose from; all styles and all price ranges. They also will let you bring in your own fabric, which is what I did (I bought my fabric at Lewis and Sheron). They quoted me a time of when my chair would be ready. I picked it up when it was done and my jaw dropped. My chair was now pimped out and bad ass. They did a wonderful job and I am so happy that I used Nandina. That chair is now my seating pride and joy. *I will post some pictures when I get around to taking them.
