amazing local fresh market and great options for the family. I am in love with the sandwiches and craft sodas

After visiting visiting two more times, updating my review. Visit 2 - After raving about the greens to J, he wanted to give them a try - so we stopped by. Customer service was completely different. I think one of the owners waited on us and he was very distracted and seemed upset. Everyone has an off day, so that's not a big deal, but the greens were completely different. The sauce / broth / pot liquor was very thick and overpowered the greens. There was also very little meat in them. Visit 3 - Last week, my brother convinced me to venture back over with him. I did mention to him that the greens were 'different' when J and I came. But I threw caution to the wind because those greens on the first visit were just so good. (I even attempted to replicate them at home and managed to whip up a pretty good replica. Mine turned out very tasty, but oily. Lol. The barbecue sauce separated.) We were pleasantly surprised to see that they were open, even though it was a holiday (MLK Day). My brother called to confirm that they were open. When we arrived, the same gentleman from Visit 2 was a the register, and once again, he seemed a bit annoyed and distracted. Don't get me wrong - he answered my questions and he was not outright rude, but the friendliness and welcoming attitude we received during Visit 1 was absent. My brother purchased two containers of greens for himself, two containers for me, and a Hoss sandwich with a side of greens for me. The Hoss is pulled pork, topped with coleslaw, pimento cheese - served on an onion roll. I omitted the pimento cheese. I don't eat potato salad. Not a huge fan of potato chips and the mac & cheese is the 'creamy' style mac & cheese (versus the baked casserole / Béchamel sauce style), so I chose the collard greens as my side too. Lol. Overall - The sandwich was 'okay.' The best part was the bread. The pulled pork was sparse and at one point I bit into a blob of fat. Argh. But the biggest disappointment was the collard greens 'broth' was thick again. I tried a bite / had them as a side as soon as we got in the car - and also tried some from my packaged container later that evening. My brother said his were like that too and we both agreed that we preferred the way they were prepared on Visit 1. I understand that consistency isn't always possible in restaurants like this (when things are scratch-made fresh and ingredients are locally sourced), but I don't think this collard greens thing falls under that category. After averaging my three visits, decided to give them a 3.5.

So happy to find this gem. Friendly service and amazing food. I'll dream about the collards.

Yes! We were so excited to try this place out because local meat market and sandwiches. Walking in the owner greeted us and was so happy! It really made you feel like you were at a small hometown spot. The shelves were not completely full but they just opened so i understand. We ended up getting some skirt steak for tacos and two sandwiches. The wagyu looked to die for!! These sandwiches are a huge win in my books holy moly! I got this one with bologna, pimento, arugula and an aioli. My husband got a steak sandwich with carmelized onions. I have never had better sandwiches and bread was soft and fresh. I was amazed! The owner gave us some collard greens broth as well to try. He seems so passionate i almost wanted to just hang out there with him. If you support local places this is the one to go to. From the service, meats selection (and fish), and overall feel of the pla

Have you been to Frazie's yet? Excited about this new butcher shop. They not only have great meat and seafood but wine as well. Staff and owner are super nice and helpful. If you don't feel like cooking a full me, do like I did: buy fresh protein (I picked up Chilean salmon to cook), get a bottle of wine and some premade dudes. I bought couple of Frazie's sides: pasta salad and the Brussels with bacon. They were both so good!!! I'n addition, I tried their pork belly gourmet sandwich. It was delicious!!! There are a few seats inside and plenty outside. Street parking is available on Hollywood. Make your way to Frazie's! It's a great addition to Riverside.

Frazies has amazing sandwiches!! Best Cuban I've had and the Salmon wrap was fresh!. A ton of grocery choices and top of the line vendors & options and locally sourced meats and seafood. They have beer and wines that most don't carry. Gotta get back to try another sandwhich. Frazies is the best!

Frazie's Meat & Market is a must try + worth the drive spot. The market carries a variety of local and artisanal products, wine, sodas, sauces, honey, spices, popsicles, in house frozen foods, frozen meat, dog treats and a ton more! The butcher side proudly boasts "Farm to Family" and their sandwiches (made from their meat) Do NOT disappoint! Thursdays they do a must try smash burger! I wish every neighborhood had a Frazie's. Go try it out, let me know what you think!

Best wrap I ever had!! I ask for them to remove the olives and the feta. The pesto chicken and the vinagrette with the tomatoes onions and greens just pairs so well. I've been back twice already and I'll be back again. Plus the gentleman that was running the shop was very welcoming!

This place is a hidden gem now, but probably won't be soon. It's too good to stay hidden. I got the Atlas sandwich. I'm a big sandwich guy. Pride myself on trying a lot of them. This one is up there near the top. Steak cooked perfectly. The jam is delicious. Bread is perfect. Greens are crisp. It's just a very well made sandwich all around. Also picked up some pork chops last weekend for the grill and they had to be some of the biggest chops I've ever seen. Tossed em on with just some salt and pepper and they were great. Like I said, this place is a hidden gem now, but with friendly staff, killer sandwiches, meat and a market to boot... it won't stay that way. It'll be the prize of Riverside soon.

Atl Chop and Germán Coleslaw. Yum!!

First thing I want to mention is the customer service -- the cashier had a beautiful spirit. She greeted everyone who walked in, was very kind, and made the experience welcoming. That alone goes a long way. As for the food, I ordered the turkey necks with corn, potatoes, and broccoli. They were okay -- not bad, but not something I would rush back for. We also tried the fried shrimp and fries, and I could tell I came later in the evening because the fried food didn't taste as fresh. The grease seemed old, which affected the flavor. That said, I'm trying to be fair. I came toward the end of the night, so I don't want to judge the place completely off that visit. I plan to come back earlier in the day when they first open to see if the food quality is different, because fresh grease and fresh batches definitely matter. I'm from the Westside and I really want to support places in my area. This visit just wasn't my favorite, but I can see how others may enjoy it -- especially if they come at the right time. I'll update my review after I give it another try.

It was better than Bistro Niko. I'm comparing it to Bistro Niko because was that was the restaurant for last month's dining passport coupon card. The card worked. It got me out of the house and into this area. Ceviche: Tasty for the first few bites but a little too sweet for me at the end. I wanted the bowl to be bigger because I kept dropping the goodies. The scallops were soft, but the shrimp almost felt too overcooked in acid. I was hoping for some fish bits too. You are able to have your fish fried, broiled, or "Hong Kong" style (steamed with soy sauce, ginger, and scallions) and each fish entree comes with a side of potatoes or vegetables. I had salmon and sea bass Hong Kong style. The Chiliean Sea Bass was amazing. The salmon was good but not special. It came with a side of rice, and I tossed most of it into the sauce. It was filling. The wife got crusted swordfish with grits and green beans. The swordfish is meaty. I think this may be our first time trying swordfish and I can say it's ok. I think I always avoided swordfish since it's high in mercury levels. She loved the grits but gave me most of the green beans. Would I come here again? Probably. I enjoyed Bistro Niko more though.

I was hoping to grab some crab legs for my grandmother's birthday celebration, but from the moment I walked through the door, I could tell it wasn't going to go how I hoped. There were barely any options in the display case. Maybe one or two fish, a random cluster, but nothing that made you feel like the store was stocked for folks to shop. And nothing in there was fresh. Everything was frozen. So, I inquired asking if there was more. The person behind the case told me that there was more in the back. I asked him about his crab legs, and was in complete shock when he stated the price. They were charging per cluster, not per pound. A small snow crab cluster? $11. A medium one? $27. That's insanity! At Whole Foods, I can get a whole pound of snow crab with 2-3 clusters for $15. They're charging customers more for less. That's easily over 80% more for maybe half the crab legs. This was actually the second seafood market I went to that evening because I had to throw away food from the first place. The usual spots I frequent were packed and had ridiculously high prices, so I decided to try LT New Orleans Seafood Market by ordering on DoorDash. I ordered 3 lbs of crawfish, with one of those pounds including broccoli, sausage, corn, and potatoes. When I arrived, I noticed the restaurant was closer to West End Mall. The area didn't bother me, but the musty, old smell inside did. When they handed me my tray of crawfish, I was immediately skeptical. It did not look like 3 lbs, and as someone who has been eating crawfish since birth, I know what 3 lbs should look like. Already hungry and frustrated, I asked for it to be weighed. At first, I was speaking to the male owner, but then a female owner jumped in, immediately getting defensive. She started insisting they don't cheat people. That wasn't the point--I just wanted to confirm the weight. She told the man to remove the shrimp and vegetables, and I agreed. As he did, she kept saying crawfish shrinks when cooked, which made it clear they weigh before cooking. After weighing, the crawfish and juices totaled 2.64 lbs--not 3 lbs. They offered a refund, but I declined and took the food. The crawfish were decent, and I liked the broccoli, but at that point, I was over it. I ate just to avoid wasting money. I won't be back.

We found this place on a Reddit thread and the Yelp reviews seemed promising after looking for…read moreplaces to go on our first trip to Atlanta. Sadly, this place didn't meet our expectations. We thought the options were basic, although different varieties, and weren't completely satisfied with the food we ordered. The service was nothing to rave about either but at least the restrooms and tables were clean. We also loved being able to walk on the trails in the surrounding neighborhood. We ordered a margarita pizza from Varuni, which was the most underwhelming if not disappointing pizza in our opinion. The crust was too soggy and the sauce was sour. It tasted like they just used a can of uncooked crushed tomatoes. We also ordered the fried turkey platter from Soul since we've never had southern comfort food. The turkey was seasoned well but was a bit dry and over fried, again just our opinion. Nonetheless, it was a better value and had more flavor than the pizza because the candied yams were delicious! Finally, we got after-meal drinks from Little Tart and the coffee was good. Overall, it wasn't the worst experience but we probably wouldn't eat at this food hall again. I would still suggest it to other first-timers since the location was really nice and it's good for groups because of the different options. The surrounding area is also a nice change from downtown, which is where we stayed.
