This thrift shop always has good selections of everything. They have brand new carpet for sale. It always smells so fresh in there unlike some thrift stores that smell like things have been boxed for ages. After Christmas, they have a 50% off on all but new carpet. Senior discount is 50% off on Wednesday. The clothes are pretty reasonably priced. The employees are friendly and helpful. All announcements are made in English and in Spanish. Employees were closing the dressing rooms 45 minutes before the store even closed, started vacuuming and putting discarded clothes away, creating a tense atmosphere that made me feel rushed. The service was AWFULLLL!!!! I walked in the store and accidentally brought my coffee in the store. The lady working at one of the front desks asked me to put my drink on the table that drinks weren't allowed. This is one of my top favorite thrift stores I've ever visited! I stop by routinely and consistently find good things. The store is clean, well organized, and clothes are sorted by gender, size, and type. I've never seen kids' clothes so well taken care of and organized! Ample parking, no bathrooms available, and no returns. Some of my favorite finds: * red cashmere sweater for my mom * small gold metal reindeer, perfect for my Christmas decor * many vintage brass things * I once scooped up someone's many kid castoff and scored 6 shirts and 4 pants for my two kids! * adorable springtime shoes Goodwill isn't far away, and I'll visit there if I have the time, but if I can only go to one thrift store, Smyrna Thriftenvironment is my choice, hands down. Me and my friend had been in the dressing room trying stuff on and they said "45 minutes until the dressing rooms close" okay plenty of time, so I stayed out and let my friend show off her clothes and get dressed, right as my friend stopped trying on close they came on the intercom again and said "15 minutes before dressing rooms close" ONLY 10 MINUTES HAD PASSED, so I'm rushing to get my clothes on and my friend looked at one of the ladies that apparently gave her a nasty looks and said "sorry we only have a few more things" which is true and she rudely responded "well the dressing rooms are closed" when I didn't immediately exit the dressing room (because I was getting dressed) she called up to the register and said "hey are dressing rooms closed?" And then told us "dressing rooms are closed" in a very rude tone. Then, while we were checking out (15 minutes before they actually closed by the way) they were giving us nasty glaring looks the whole time, closed the doors and shut off the lights, THERE WERE 10 MINUTES STILL LEFT AND STILL PEOPLE INSIDE. And, When we were leaving, one of them had the audacity to go "and when you have a problem, you can tell us instead of mocking us" WHICH WE DIDNT EVEN DO! We went away from them to talk about how rude they were being at the changing room and how pushy they were being but we weren't mocking. And when I told her "we weren't mocking you we were talking about how rude you were being at the changing rooms" she told us "then don't come back" WHAT ASSHOLES!! Do not come here. I like going to this place with my girlfriend every so often. Their selection is pretty decent and I like the multiple tiers of discounts. They will separate such discount tags often too. The announcements are a little repetitive. The cashier team can be hit and miss as far as attentiveness. And I don't know who's in charge of tagging the product, but they really need to be more careful with those staples. My girlfriend has cut her finger several times when trying stuff on. They should either stapled differently or away from common spots of touching. read more

Do not recommend coming here at all, the owner has a guy picking in the back taking all the good items. Items us consumers look for and want. This place has just went downhill ever since the owner was giving exclusive access to his friend to pick items from the back before they hit production. This isn't fair at all, and is very frustrating knowing that someone is taking all the good items from the back not making it fair for consumers! I highly recommend not wasting your time at all. The goodwill down the street and park avenue on south cobb are way better. They don't have anyone taking items from the back, so it's fair game as it should be. read more

This is a good thrift store overall however, they have a sign right at the entrance that says no purses or bags allowed. I ignore the sign every time, and they always give me a very dirty look. The prices are pretty bad compared to the Goodwill across the street. On the bright side, They always have a good gardening section. They offer dressing rooms as well. GREAT place to browse or shop for clothes. Their clothes are sorted by size, not color. This keeps you from having to sort through 83 green shirts to find one your size or style. I don't care about the sizes of shirts that don't fit me. Why would I want to browse through them? Are you listening, Goodwill? I wouldn't recommend this place I just bought some pants and literally walked out the store, went home to try the merchandise on because I wasn't going to put on some thrift clothes without having something on underneath! Pants doesn't fit called to get an exchange on what I now can not use and wasted money on and was told no because I could have tried it on at the store! As someone's who has frequented this store for years and has talked to the workers and boss there let me say this place is a Gem. I have see one or two people claiming that they were treated "horribly" and were "rudely rushed out by having the lights turned out on them". When it turns an hour before closing time, one of the cashiers will get on the announcements explaining to customers that the store closes in 1 hour. These announcements repeat every 15 minutes (i.e. "The time is now 7:15, we close in 45 minutes, The time is 7:30 we close in 30 minutes, etc.") After 7:45, they make the announcements again at 7:50 AND 7:55 that they will be closing soon, so please take your final selections to the front. I have seen firsthand people ignore these announcements and continue shopping well past closing time. The store has had to resort to turning off the lights once it gets near closing time because this has been the only effective way to stop some customers from ignoring the workers, reminding them that store is now closed and they should head to the front to check out. A friend of mine who worked there even recounted to me how they had a few customers stay 45 minutes after closing, refusing to leave and kept shopping. Her boss hadn't been there, and the other ladies had been too afraid to get yelled at by the customers again, so they let them stay to avoid any trouble. It is probably true that people have had the lights turned out on them. However, this is not due to any ill will or malice on the store's part. They are merely trying ensure that customers, who were repeatedly told exactly how much time they had left mind you, would actually listen and allow the store to close on time. The people here are genuinely good people and seem to be hard workers. The store itself is well organized and has a wide selection of many things. I highly recommend it and as anyone who's worked in customer service and retail knows, that some of the bad reviews on here may be due to the reviewer being the kind of person who winds up on r/entitledpeople or is as the young folk call be a "Karen". read more

American Express? Doubtful. Smyrna Thrift Store may only accept cash or debit, so check yourself for these items before you arrive. During my SEVERAL trips here over Halloween season, I was able to find a bounty of great clothing for lower than I ever expected. I was able to purchase suit wear for under FIFTEEN dollars, and "That J.Crew Skirt" in my size, for $8? Mind. Blowing. (You see, it's continuing to be blown because I know the rabbit hole doesn't end here...) MANY items are priced to sell and marked as "take this % off a red (white, blue) tag item!" meaning that you walk away with an ever greater sale. I've been here more than 10x's.. Im not sure why I never thought to Yelp it.. This place is cheap.. Cheaper than cheap! A lot of stuff to choose from like: furniture, movies, clothing and even some diabetic supplies.. Odd but true! Most days are color coded sale days of course! You must have time to find the treasures because they get so many donations, it's just items all Over the place. What can I say? Its a thrift store. The good: it is clean, quality of clothes is decent, they do have specific colors that have a percentage off from 25-75 %. Very nice selection of women formal wear. Great book selection. The not so good: the prices! I LOVE to shop thrift and consignment,with that being said, I do not expect to pay )12.00 for anything in a thrift store, particularly for brands such as Forever 21! The aroma of old orphan clothing is the first thing that greets you, when you walk in through Smyrna Thrift Store. It's a tad bit disturbing but you get over it. Everything was organized and neat. Love the sizes being in order, pinch over priced but found a sweet Ralph Lauren shirt for five bucks, neat hoodie that looked brand spankin new and a few more items. Also found small fitting rooms but if you know you're size and dont want to smell like moth balls pass on them, just thought it was nice of them. They have a toy section, moderately fair pricing. Small interesting book section. Kids books priced at .98 cents unlike Goodwills pricy used.books. Thought that was neat. Old school t.v's at 50%. You really have to dig to find your treasures. VHS tapes, even audio books. Found HP goblet of fire audio book, few.good DVDs! Man throughly surprised at those finds. Also like good will dish sets including mugs. Overall it was a good experience looking around. Spent ten bucks and had a good chat with the cashier. Very very excellent customer skills. Gave me some tips about they're sales. It's a thrift store, so it's not CLEAN or UPDATED, but the stock turns over pretty regularly and they always have great deals. Not just one sale, but several different ones going on at once! i am a frequent shopper at this location where they sell bags of jewelry. it is several people who are in competition to get the bags first. that is not the issue; the issue is favoritism towards certain customers. the store person (balin) brought the jewelry to the front and helped the other customer by taking the jewelry out and handing it to him, which is showing favoritism and unprofessional. other customers have spoke about this several times, but i noticed it for myself today and it should not be allowed. my entire point is to do your job and take the jewelry to the counter and not wait for the person; pretty much giving them the jewelry, instead of already having it in place for those that come in the store. another method or professionalism should be require or found so everyone gets a fair chance. read more
