So there are a ton of ways to go about getting an AR platform. You can build your own which I have…read moredone in the past, or you can buy yourself one that is ready to go out of the box. In this case I decided that I would buy what amounts to some of the finest, most precise AR-15 platforms around, Noveske. I chose the Generation III Recon. First and foremost the hardware is top of the line and most of it is made in house. The 16 inch barrel is Cold Hammer Forged Stainless Steel. The charging handle is robust and pivots side to side to assist. Unlike other AR manufacturers there is little need to replace the parts once you acquire it. Noveske rifles use the Keymod system and there are plenty of accessories for you to Tacticool you rifle to your hearts content. The Keymod system is way better than the old MIL-STD-1913 and you can get adapters if you need to go back and forth I am at best an average marksman. But this rifle makes me way better than I deserve to be. It is for me easily accurate out to 200 yards and Ive seen people at the range getting consistent targeting at even longer distances. They have great prices and when it comes to service after the sale you can't do better. As an example; bought a new EDC Glock 43x moa. The trigger was 7 pounds at the "wall". John the manager and Glock armorer installed a three spring kit at no charge that immediately dropped it to 4 pounds and gave it a cleaner break and a nice "floor". I love it. That also helped me get the first shot on target. Great prices, excellent service, friendly folks! Please pay no attention to those reviews left by "out of towners". Makes me question why they stopped by Welburns, but I doubt that they were there to buy anything.

Two of the competitors were a couple of the highest volume sporting goods sellers nationwide, you can likely guess who I might be referring to! Both employees, a manager and a young lady were courteous, highly professional and knowledgeable. It's a tiny little shop, but they have an excellent inventory, including some hard to find ammo. This place is sectioned off really nicely and has something for everyone. Clothing for the entire family at really reasonable prices. Camping supplies including tents, ice chests, and all the gear you need to go along with it. Checked out their handgun section and even though they don't have as much of a selection as say a Cabela's what they do have are popular brands and calibers. Staff that is knowledgeable and more than willing to give you advice and information about the handguns they do have. If they aren't sure of an answer they find out while you are looking. These guys were hands down some of the best I have ever worked with at outdoor/gun shop. They truly care about the customer experience and the way the work with the customers encourages their return. No pressure shopping at it's best! They don't try and push you into making a decision and they make sure to let everyone know they are willing to work with you on price if they are able to. Wasn't really sure what to expect when I went into this store, but I'll be the first to admit it wasn't this. Great staff. Great selection. Clean store. Competitive prices! I brought in a Derringer Twist 2 that I was given, a box of target ammo, and made a down payment of…read more$50. Mazama's recommended McClusky's, as I didn't know where to go. I wanted them to clean the Derringer and test fire it (who knew they would charge for that when I brought in my own ammo? That seems wrong). I stopped in every week to check on progress. They said I don't need to stop in, I could just call, but my calls are not returned. After 3 weeks they said that it wouldn't fire, and needed to be bored because it had been dry-fired. I said to do it. I continued to stop in weekly. A couple of weeks later they actually called me and said it needed to have something filled (1st bored, then filled. Hmm. Did they create the problem?). I said go ahead. I eventually stopped going in. A few weeks later, they said they think the problem is the spring, I said replace it. Two more weeks, they called and said the springs are no longer made, but they could fashion one. Again I gave them the go ahead. That was about a month ago. They haven't called, they haven't communicated in any way. They've had the Derringer for about 3-1/2 or 4 months. I have left a voicemail message, but I am not holding my breath on a return phone call. I still give them a 2-star rating because they are always pleasant when I stop in. However, pleasantness only goes so far. It doesn't make up for their lack of communication or the fact they have had my Derringer for such a long time. I cannot recommend them.
