Beginner or not, this is a great space to relive some stress, tap into your inner peace, and meet others that are also interested in self exploration. What a gem in Costa Mesa, providing the public with free meditation classes (donations are always welcome!). Gil and Marilyn are SO welcoming, and somehow manage to remember everyones names. The first time I came in was by myself for the Wednesday night group practice led by Gil. The next time I came in was with my cousin, who had no prior meditation experience at all, and she loved it. I randomly found this place online when I was looking to get back into meditation a few months after I completed a Vipassana course. Although Shambhala is different, the 7:00pm class opens with an introduction and instruction to approaching this style of meditation. Note that the space itself is *behind* the Coco's. If you're facing the restaurant, to left you'll find a hall that you pass through. Make a turn towards the salon and you'll find the Meditation Center. The space is warm and clean, be sure to check in with Marilyn or Sepi at the front desk to say that you're new. You take off your shoes (you might want to wear socks) and enter the meditation hall closed off by silkscreen doors. No need to bring pillows or a bloc as very comfortable ones are already provided for you. For those who have trouble sitting cross legged or kneeling on the floor, there are three ample rows of chairs behind the floor seating. The temperature is mild--I wore a jean jacket with a t-shirt underneath and was comfortable the whole session. After practicing two sets of walking and sitting meditation, the class sat in a circle and read a chapter from The Lost Art of Good Conversation, by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. The discussion that followed provides an excellent connection between how the physical and mental exercise of meditation translates to our everyday lives. You have nothing to lose by dropping in. I hope to provide an updated review after attending one of their Saturday sessions or courses. For a fee, they have really cool contemplative arts seminars. I wanted to sign up for the Ikebana course, the study and practice of flower arranging, but they ran out of space! The best way to keep up with its events is by following its Meetup page.

After 3 years, I'm back. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. So when my…read morepanic and anxiety attacks conveniently began to tag team, I found myself back to the beginning. The universe knew exactly what it was doing sending me back to the starting line. I've lost my way again. I indeed forgot how to calm my mind and body. It was a humbling way for the universe to tell me I am not meditating nor relaxing correctly. That's where Jessika comes in. She is the absolute best and is truly amazing at holding a safe space for you to achieve complete and total relaxation. She offers virtual appointments and thankfully she had availability within a few days. My experience during a session is walking in with a million thoughts racing through my head while my body can't sit down and walking out relaxed, peaceful, and focused. What a difference. I must admit how naive I was to think that reiki should not be a consistent part of my healing journey. Talking with Jessika, she made an interesting point that while reiki can help after one session its benefits can go beyond by being more consistent. I do agree because if one session can bring peace to my life imagine what monthly sessions could do for my health and healing. My goal is to be more consistent in reiki healings this year so that I can be the best version of myself. I can't wait to book my next session and continue to work on healing. So if you are on the fence, do it. Book the appointment and get started on your healing journey.

He…read morecreates a space where you feel safe enough to explore parts of yourself you might normally avoid, and he does it with compassion and steadiness. Aiden is truly a gift to this universe and I cannot say enough amazing things about him and how he has helped not only me but so many people. Attending one of his retreats was one of the most eye-opening experiences I've had in a long time. I walked away with more tools than I expected -- truly worth every penny -- but what made it invaluable was having the space to actually experience those tools in my body, guided so skillfully the entire way. My biggest takeaway from the day was realizing that your body can actually be a safe place. Developing a relationship with yourself internally is so different from what we casually call "self-care." It's about sitting with your feelings instead of avoiding them. That shift alone changed something in me. This experience didn't end when the retreat did. I left wanting to go deeper -- and I am. That alone says everything. I truly think that everyone should attend this event and you are guaranteed to leave feeling different and more enlightened.

This workshop taught me how to take proactive steps to improve that connection. I gained invaluable, actionable skills such as acupressure paired with elemental oils, meditation, and Neuro Emotional Therapy (NET). This workshop is an act of self-care, it supports self-exploration by identifying, understanding, and releasing feelings that often carries with them tension, leading to inflammation, flares, or other medical conditions. Learning to "process" feelings means allowing them to move through you rather than getting stuck in you. True wellness rarely comes from treating just one part of ourselves. The tools and strategies I learned in the Embodiment Workshop will likely continue to yield results the more I practice them. It is wonderful that Aiden is teaching others how to invest in long-term health and self-understanding.

Some items here are a complete D-E-A-L. $2 for a bundle of sage?! I spend more on gasoline, driving up to Angeles Forest to gather it in the wild. Some stones do cost a bit more, but again, you'd have to make a bit of drive to find a shop for something comparable. And the selection of stones here are very unique, that I don't necessarily see in other shops... like the gorgeously eye-catching blue goldstone. If you're looking for moldavite, they got it! Another Synergy 12 stone I found here is Tibetan Tektite! Iolite is another good one for pineal gland activation, and this is the only store nearby that carries a good bunch! Plus, nearly weekly, every Saturday, they usually plan a cool event, like free readings and such. Very cool spot if you're a rockaholic. Ya' dig?
