The instructors are incredible I've absolutely loved Molli H (Yogalates), Mari A (RA Vinyasa), Chrisy S (Sound Bath and Kundalini), Marizol O (Yogalates), and Nancy P (RA Vinyasa). My very first class was with Nancy, and I was hooked immediately! It's such a welcoming, non-judgmental space everyone, especially the yoga community here, is so kind and supportive. The rooms are beautifully dimmed, and the energy is motivating and uplifting. This studio is truly special for both your physical and mental well-being. They offer a variety of classes, so you're not stuck with just one style, and booking a class is super easy. If you're shy or nervous about trying yoga, don't let that hold you back--you'll feel right at home here. I highly recommend this studio! read more

I have had about 4 sessions here specifically for Hot Ra. My friend and I were looking for an affordable and good hot yoga class and in our research we found Ra Yoga. The class we go to is led by Jamie. She is so knowledgeable and leads the class without effort. The pace is great for beginners and there is no pressure or poor energy to help you feel welcome. Classes are easy to book on the app and there are plenty of styles to choose from! I look forward to the classes every time! read more

Solid hot yoga studio in the area! Overall, love the variety of teachers, classes and offerings (you can also use your membership at the other locations). But parking can be a major hassle. The classes itself are fantastic - do note that most classes are heated; albeit, to varying degrees - from 70/75 for vinyasa flow 1 to 105-110 for Hot Ra. Each instructor has their own style, and seems to be have creative freedom to direct their own flow (which some chain studios might not). My favorites are: - Yogalates with Yamilette - love that she has great music in line with the flow and works both upper and lower body - Hot Ra with Mike - really like his challenging balancing poses, along with choice of chill Hozier While this studio is priced lower than Corepower, I noticed that the classes here are always fully booked and you are very close to your neighbors. Another major con is the parking! At peak class times (weekday evenings), all the designated Ra spots are full, and the open spots remaining belong to the businesses nearby which threaten to tow, making getting to class very stressful. I try to avoid classes at 5-6PM because of this. read more

For many years, I use to HATE going to yoga. I would think it was too slow and boring. Then one day, after becoming sober (from alcohol) for 3 months, I decided to start doing things "I HATE doing"; doing the hard things in order to grow my will power and create self success. I first joined the 2 weeks for $35 deal and went everyday taking "Ra Vinyasa Level 1" and "Ra Vinyasa Intro to Level 2". I started to learn the basics and gained confidence. I then took advantage of the $25 for the first month deal. I just finished taking my 30 straight day of yoga and feel stronger, pliable and mobile than when I first joined. Now, daily yoga is NON-NEGOTIABLE. I NEED it in my life to continue to become a better person. I love who I see in the mirror because of this practice. If I can do it, you can do it too! Ra Yoga has really good strength yoga instructors. They really get you pumped up and going. The classes here are super crowded and you have to book the class well in advance and pick a spot. Core Power has a lot more locations, so more class times and less crowded classes. Ra yoga is a lot cheaper than Core Power and they have Groupons available all the time. The water filter at Ra needs to be changed, the water refilled tastes bad. The Pilates yoga class is pretty fun and worth trying. HAPPY HOT YOGAING!! read more

Ive been coming to RA Yoga on and off for a few years but have remained consistent for the last several months and love their new remodel, the rooms are a vibe. Molli's class is such a good time. She teaches a solid medium-level flow that feels just right -- challenging but not overwhelming. Her energy is contagious and she plays the best music!!! Yami's classes are no joke (in the best way). Her RA Strength lights up your arms and legs. I'm shaking by the end and wondering why I signed up! But I know ill be back lol. If you want a real challenge, she's your girl. Mike's Yogalates class is tough but so rewarding. You can tell he really loves teaching, and that makes a big difference. I always leave feeling stronger, clearer mentally, and just overall good. This review is LONNNNGGG overdue! Back in 2017 I moved to OC from the East coast and was struggling to find a yoga home. I stumbled across RA because they were offering a week free for any new students which I soooo appreciated because I couldn't afford yoga at the time. When I arrived to the Costa Mesa location and stepped through the doors I instantly knew it was going to be my home away from home. The person working the front desk was so kind and the studio was beautiful. There are elements of trees everywhere throughout the studio and the bathrooms have affirmations written all around them which are so nice to read. My first time practicing here was with Joey. His flow was challenging and a lot of fun. The heat was booming and his music was a vibe. After class he gave me the biggest high five and thanked me for coming. I'd been going to a couple of other studios in the area and nowhere else had I'd felt so seen and appreciated. After this first class... I was hooked. I would go on to take hundreds of classes by amazing instructors across all of the RA Yoga studios (Costa Mesa, Newport, Irvine and Long Beach). Every single thing about this place I love. The instructors, the variety of class styles, the authenticity of each instructor, the community and the love that flows through this place. RA is such a safe space to start or continue your yoga practice. Whether you want a more mellow class or a challenging kick ass class or something in between, you can find it here!! They also offer free community classes, Groupon deals, Classpass, and specials all year round. Now that I'm writing this review in 2022 and have moved back to the East coast... Yoga classes are fine here but there are many local choices. This place is very corporate and inflexible. If you are someone whose main event in a weekend is going to a yoga class, this may be the studio for you, although you will be packed in like sardines in those classes, and you may find yourself late anyway because their parking can be a mess. Prenatal yoga is essential to my surviving my pregnancy right now but it's not easy to schedule. I told my kid I could not attend her soccer game so that I could attend the one weekend prenatal yoga they offer, and then there was an event in my neighborhood blocking traffic which made me a couple minutes late. They would not let me in. I wasted almost an hour driving there and back, and missed the game, and will not have an opportunity to do yoga again for another week because they only offer one weekend option. Unfortunately I bought a multipack here so I will have to be back, but once that expires I will seek out other places that understand that someone may be tugging on you as you are leaving and you are doing your best. Now I understand why the prenatal yoga class is almost exclusively future first-time moms. There are less corporate options out there which I am learning are a better fit for people like me. ETA: It took me a few weeks to be able to come back but I have been back twice since this incident. The teachers were late to both classes. One was three minutes late and the other five, which is when they stop letting students into the studio because "class is long underway and we don't want to disturb anyone." read more

Walked in to purchase an intro offer for my girlfriend since I was unable to complete the transaction online. Walked in and the front desk person, not sure what her name was but she had blonde curly hair, just stared at me with a blank face like I wasn't supposed to be there and throughout the checkout process just seemed uninterested in helping me even tho literally no one else was there and she was just sitting there doing nothing. Talked to my gf after she went to her first class and she had a similar experience with the same lady saying she rushed through the "tour" like she was busy but no one else was in the waiting room. Not sure if she's just miserable being in her 30s working the front desk at a yoga studio but hopefully yall see this review and give her some much needed customer service training. My girlfriend enjoyed the instructors tho and said thankfully they didn't have the same energy as the front desk lady did. read more

Recommended for those who like HOT yoga... unfortunately I'm not one of them. Let me state for the record I'm not holding my personal preferences against the studio. I registered for a Yogalates evening class via ClassPass and I was completely caught off guard when I got to the studio that it was a hot class. Even if I enjoyed hot classes, I would have prepared with different equipment... i.e. a large towel and an older less nice yoga mat. Ra Yoga is located off Bristol south of the 405. They have a private lot behind their Costa Mesa location. Parking was surprisingly limited considering I came around 4pm, before most people get off work. I arrived early since it was my first time to the studio. Surprisingly I didn't need to sign any waivers. I was welcoming into the studio and I was told the class before me was wrapping up and I can explore the studio in the mean time. They have a wide selection of fitness clothes, fitness equipment, trinkets of positive affirmation and more. After the merchandise, you get to shoe cubbies and a disclaimer to leave your shoes before entering the next space. The hallway contains equipment you might need for the class and it leads to two studios spaces. As I stepped into the hallway barefoot, I cringed at the sticky floors and stepping into drops of water... some of it was other people's sweat, some of it was excess water from the water refilling station, and some of it was from those who dripped after their showers. Yikes... Either way... grosssssssss. I searched tirelessly for large cubbies to leave my purse until I found lockers in the bathroom. There were not many lockers and few large ones that would even fit my purse, and not even fit well... Since it was a hot studio I left everything there since I didn't wait to bring my phone into the gross humidity. The studio space was large and heated. I felt gross from the moment I walked in. It was hard to breath the hot air and I dreaded every second of it. The Yogalattes class this day had us with one pilates ring and one block. The format was mostly yoga with a slight addition of mat pilates moves. The moves were easy to follow along and in a normal temperature or air conditioned room wouldn't be so bad. Overall as a studio I just wished there was a better description upon sign up, more cohesive tour of the facilities for first timers, better storage space for my belongings and somehow keep the floors clean or not icky to walk around in. I personally don't plan on coming back since I detest hot yoga but I know the other ladies enjoyed their work outs. The instructor was friendly encouraging and judgement free. I think this is a great studio if it aligns with your preferences. read more

I have been going to RA for a few months now and TBH I never thought i would be committed into signing up and going consistently on a weekly basis. They have good deals with the new student promotion and also can find a great Groupon deal! The instructors are great in their own personal way. I enjoyed Strength and Yogalates the most. Front desk people are nice with the exception of the guy. He never seems like he wants to be there when he's checking you in, and I have never seen a smile or heard a greeting/welcoming from him. Score: 8/10 Buzzwords: Well Decorated, Very Clean, Nice Amenities Forewent my usual yoga studio in Highland Park to try hot yoga here with friends who come here weekly. My first impressions of this spot was that depending on the time you go - we came here at 6:30pm - it can be hectic given its proximity to the hustle and bustle of all surrounding business as well as the outdoor play spaces for children. Truthfully, not the most relaxing environment to walk into however, as the crowds died down after our 7:30 class, we found it to be a lot more peaceful and relaxing. This was my first traditional Hot Yoga class in which the poses were uniformly set, and the regulars seemed to transition from pose to pose in real time as the instructor gave his cues. The music was an absolute game changer - between Glass Animals, Rufus du Sol, Lane 8 - I certainly was digging the vibes which went well with the ambient lighting. What wasn't so great was how cramped everything was. Several transitions had me face first near someones crotch or the unwanted recipient of hot / steamy breath. Breath of fire is great and all, but not something I really want to partake in when I'm sharing a tiny cube of a room space with just a bit more than my mat for real-estate. Overall, bravo to whoever designed and decorated the interior as well as implemented the layout of the studio. While I wouldn't come back for the hot yoga, I would certainly be interested in trying out some of the other yoga classes. Nothing more relaxing after a yoga session than a nice warm shower in a clean / peaceful environment. read more

I love this little yoga studio. Super grateful for the down to earth instructors that I've personally encountered, I've always enjoyed each class I take. Each class is unique. I will say I do try to avoid super high volume times for classes because they can get quite full! This Rayoga studio has been a lifesaver for me. I went through some hard times in 2018, and I am so grateful that this facility was availablethen. Also, I have had several injuries from a lifetime of hard physical labor, and the instructors here have really helped me to overcome and work through those difficulties. Almost every instructor that I have had has been great. Yoga is a perceived by most to be a mind, body, spirit experience. I, personally, have my own spiritual beliefs, so I ignore the Hindu, Buddhist, spiritualist, reiki, and even witchy stuff that is sometimes included in the practice. Not everything spiritual is good, but I don't let it distract from the wonderful mind/body experience at Rayoga. read more

Ra Yoga is amazing! They have a variety of instructors and different classes: Meditation, Sound Bath, Vinyasa Levels 1&2, Hot Yoga, Yogalates, Strength and RaStore. If you are more into higher intensity or upbeat yoga, I would recommend Yogalates or RaStregth. You will really work on your core in those classes. Reservations: - it depends on what tier your membership is but typically you can book a class at least one day in advance - cancellations: I believe you have up to 4 hours before the scheduled class time to cancel without a penalty - classes do get booked up fast so I do encourage to sign up as soon as you can - you have up until 5 minutes after the class has started before you are charged a late/no show fee - they have an app! It makes everything easier but you can also call to book Sometimes they have promotions, so I would keep a look out on their app or Groupon! read more

My husband and I took the Sunday 3:30 hot ra with Michelle and loved it!! She mentioned she was a sub so I'm sad I can't take more classes with her! The hot ra class reminds me of a Bikram class with majority standing postures and no downward dog or chaturangas. Was charged a penalty fee for arriving at 8:03 for an 8:00 class that they gave up my spot to someone else anyway, after saying they wouldn't charge me the penalty? Their policy states they charge a fee for last minute cancel or no show, not for arriving a few minutes after the start of class and not allowed to attend. I made a point to rush home from work to change and rush to the studio only to be turned away (I booked it online ahead of time). I decided to try their 2 week promo because I've been so busy and haven't done yoga for a long time and needed a few yoga sessions. The facility is nice like any other fancy yoga studio but you have to be assigned a numbered spot like an airplane seat and the classes are packed so tight! Parking is very limited and signs reserved for other stores that aren't open after 6 pm (which is when I'm able to go) make it hard to find parking there. I preferred 24 hour fitness for their open yoga/workout classes and not nearly as packed like sardines here. Will probably go back to joining the gym again anyways. read more

Likes: - Quite friendly people there, both teachers and students. - Thankfully, they have yoga mats to borrow. - Teacher Jamie is energetic, supportive, and helpful. - Despite having many students, Jamie was able to pay attention to and assist my form. - They turn up the heat way up in Hot Ra class, so you get to enjoy sauna benefits too. - A lot of emphasis on balance. Many one-legged poses. - Wipes are not handed out after class, but they have baskets for you to drop off the yoga mat for cleaning if you borrowed one. - They have shower rooms and lotion for use! Wow! Non-likes: - Despite the big parking lot in the back, it seems usually very crowded. I had to park in the farthest corner. - The small yoga room was packed with like 30 ppl. - So, it's sometimes hard to see a technique that Jamie is demonstrating. - The back wall needs a giant mirror. I was situated in the back of the room. So when we were facing the back wall, and I couldn't hear the instructor clearly, I wasn't sure what we were doing at times, cuz everyone else was behind me at the moment. Ra yoga is amazing. I have never experienced any workout like it before. Being a casual yogi, they have classes for everyone. The studio is clean and inviting and has great vibes. They offer classes all throughout the day so it's easy to find a time that is convenient. My personal favorite class is the Ra Strength at 6:30 am with Laurie. The classroom is 90- 95 degrees so you can work up a nice sweat. They also have a more causal yoga class for beginners, level 2 vinyasa, and yogalates (a mix between mat based Pilates and yoga) Make sure to bring a towel, yoga mat and water bottle. The showers are also perfect to rinse off after class. Bring a friend and try out the studio, you will not be disappointed. I took 500 yoga classes in 2 years oh la la. My paid unlimited membership will end July 2023. After that no more yoga for me until 2025. 500 Ra yoga classes are the most exercise class I did in my life :) I think I must spend at least 1000 hours at gyms & my cardio machines at home total...yet I still have tummy & I gain weight recently lol I continue to exercise in hope to lose weight & stomach fat soon. I take LESS yoga classes in 2023 because I'm bored of yoga after 500+ classes. Plus I put my heart & soul into learning tennis & play tennis well in 2023. read more

This review is specifically for Miranda's Prenatal yoga class. For context, I am a dancer and was able to actively dance through second trimester. Come third trimester, it was time for me to slow down. It was challenging finding an in-studio prenatal yoga class in Orange County (especially during covid). I was so excited to learn about this class at Ra. Believe me when I say that Miranda's class was a HIGHLIGHT OF MY ENTIRE PREGNANCY. I left each class feeling empowered and able bodied (which I'm sure many expectant mothers can agree is often difficult) even more than my previous dance classes. Miranda is extremely genuine and motivating which allowed me to not only work on my physical but mental health as well in a time where hormones can easily get the best of you. These classes were a perfect blend of stretching, relaxation, strength building and mental self-care. I highly recommend this class as it is among the things I miss most about my pregnancy. I look forward to trying other classes taught by Miranda in the future. read more

This studio does absolutely nothing to encourage social distancing. I took a sound bowl meditation class and we were all packed in there like sardines. And no one was wearing a mask. With the Delta variant on the rise, I can't help but feel that some of these businesses out there put profit over people. What's even further frustrating is that a hot yoga class must had just gotten out, because the room was sweltering upon entry. (And towards the end of the class it was freezing!) And to make matters worse, I had called the studio a few days prior to inquire about lockers, since the website failed to mention anything. I needed to know if they were the self locking type with a key, or if you had to provide your own lock, etc. The girl who answered the phone told me she "thinks" locks are provided. When I got to this location for the first time sure enough, locks are NOT provided at all. So my purse, wallet, car keys, etc. were just sitting there in an unlocked locker. I debated about bringing my stuff into the yoga room, but I know some instructors have a pet peeve about those things. I also debated about putting my belongings in my car really quick, but hesitated since class was about to start and I didn't want to disrupt class. How do you work at a place and are the person answering the phone, and not even know what types of lockers you have in the locker rooms?! The girl who answered the phone a few days prior to class had also told me that she didn't think there was any yoga involved in this Sacred Sound class. Well, there was. Some of us can't do yoga. Literally, my doctors advise me NOT to do it because of a medical condition I have. I'm only allowed to do my prescribed physical therapy exercises. So I felt awkward being the only person in an overcrowded room not doing cat camel and other poses. They also don't enforce any type of late policy at all. More than a dozen people (literally) had wandered in late, disrupting the class. I had to move my mat over more than 3 times so we could pack even more bodies in. The instructor gave us very advanced, hard-to-pronounce Sanskrit mantras. She was talking about their meaning and I was very confused, because I couldn't locate them anywhere on the sheet of paper she had handed out at the beginning of class. Low and behold, these mantras were on a *different* sheet of paper she had yet to distribute. Word to the wise: hand out the material FIRST before you go in to depth about the mantras and their meaning. I didn't particularly care for the instructor or her energy. She seemed to cater to her "regular" students and leave us newbies feeling confused about past conversations we weren't part of. She also had us belt out lengthy mantras for several minutes. As soon as we were done she had us take in a deep breath and hold. This seemed to be something she said frequently, almost like it was out of habit. She did this a few times throughout class. Um, no. I'm already out of breath, my body feels like it's lacking oxygen from saying these difficult mantras over and over again for so long in a stuffy room, so the last thing I'm going to do is hold my breath when I'm out of breath. Funny how when I attend kirtan this doesn't ever happen. But this class made me feel lightheaded. Overall it was a frustrating experience. I couldn't relax. There's way better content on YouTube for free. Oh, and SUV owners, good luck! The parking spaces in back are microscopic. I have a compact sedan and could barely fit. Parking was limited and I was lucky to find a spot. read more

It was my first time coming here after a friend recommended me to try this place out. I signed up for their $25 offer of 2 weeks of unlimited yoga. I like that they have multiple locations and the offer can be used at all of them. I had such a great class with yoga instructor Tiffany! I tried Yin Rastore for the first time and it was so calming and exactly what I needed. This studio is very nice and clean although you have to be very proactive when it comes to parking.
