I recently purchased a 48" range from Billy wood Appliances. I want to start by saying that John, our sales representative, was excellent--knowledgeable, helpful, and a pleasure to work with. Unfortunately, the installation experience was extremely disappointing. When the installers arrived, they immediately said they couldn't get the range up the stairs. Fortunately, we had some of our own employees present who carried it upstairs without any issue. Once at the top of the stairs, the installers asked if we would move it into the kitchen. Since we had already paid for full installation--including delivery to its final location--we declined to take on that responsibility ourselves. The installers then used a dolly to move the range, dragging and slamming it up and down our newly refinished stairs leaving visible scratches along the way. When I pointed out the damage and asked them to stop, one of the installers responded dismissively, saying they work in many multi-million-dollar homes and "do that all the time." That response was both unprofessional and unacceptable--damage to a customer's home should never be treated so casually. Overall, while the sales experience was positive, the installation service fell far below expectations. Because of this experience, I chose to purchase the remainder of my appliances from a competing company and would not recommend Billy wood. read more

Great experience from start to finish. Sarah was very helpful in selecting the right appliances for the space available in my kitchen. The installers, Shavar and Tereso did a great job installing the appliances and obviously were experienced in handling challenging installations. RUN!!! Never ever use this company. Their service is absolutely awful. Sarah Clemons their sales rep is the most ignorant rep I have ever dealt with in my life. She is beyond arrogant. Pay to have a different company install your appliances. Ours came so dirty and finger prints everywhere. They didn't clean anything n'or did they sweep the floors after. They wrecked our front step while lifting the appliances and have yet to fix them. I have heard many complain about them through the past few weeks and now I know why. Called the HHI store to get a price on a refrigerator. The woman on the other end of the line started her end of the conversation with "I rarely, rarely, rarely sell that brand, but I will give it to you" in an arrogant tone of voice. I was taken back and said I can't believe you said that, then she got an attitude and I said I'm hanging up. Customer service 101 - if you think the prospective customer is making a mistake ask them why they want to purchase that brand and show some interest. This prospective customer who has lived here for over 20 years would have explained. This is your loss, you lost all of the appliances I needed to buy for a rental unit and appliances for my home remodel we are doing. read more

We had a wonderful experience with Billy Wood. In the scope of things we were a small job however they never made us feel anything less than a valued customer. They kept us informed throughout the order process, delivery and installation particularly as Covid had impacted all areas. The installation was beautifully done as we needed minor cabinetry work to make it seamless. We highly recommend Billy Wood and will definitely be a repeat customer. read more

Waited forever for units we were told were in stock, when they finally arrived, they were the wrong color. Told we could start all over again to get the right color, or accept the wrong color. They simply could not have cared less. It's a make-the-sale, then sorry-can't-help-you sort of place. If you can shop with anyone else, do that. read more

Don't do it. Just. Don't. Do. It. You'll be sorry if you buy anything from these people. They do NOT stand by their products, are only interested in making the sale--and pocketing your money--and take no responsibility when something goes wrong, and it almost always does with them. They have no repair service of their own, so when our top-of-the line Miele dishwasher (bought from them) stopped working, we asked for a repair recommendation. The person they recommended was a completely incompetent nut job, who kept us dangling for FIVE weeks before we found out that the part he said we needed ( a pump) was on back order for 3.5 months, after he had already collected money for the part (this is Zack's Appliance Repair in Bluffton). We finally had to dispute the charge w/credit card company after he neglected to send us a check back, which he had promised to do. He NEVER EVEN PULLED the dishwasher out, nor did he vacuum the dirty water out of the washer--we had to do this ourselves. As it turned out, there was nothing wrong with the machine, other than a broken piece of glass that had become wedged in the pump. The new repair person diagnosed it in 15 mins and had it running again with no new part needed. When we told Billy Wood about this, they claimed not to be responsible for this idiot of a repairman, even though they specifically recommended him. AND they were very snippy and condescending over the phone when we rightfully expressed our displeasure. I wouldn't buy a tin outhouse from this outfit, and neither should you. They deserve to go bankrupt--the sooner the better. read more

Avoid this place like the plague! Everything we have ordered from Billy Wood has DIED within 2 to 4 years. They have no service department and wash their hands of you after they get your cash. Be wary of rebates. We ate still waiting for a rebate promised to us from 3 years ago. Never again. Go anywhere but here. read more

We had a new home built with Billy Wood providing all appliances. Our Marvel soda coolers (back kitchen & coffee bar upstairs) along with our Lynx Grill, have had continual problems and since Billy Wood has no service department, they simply referred us to the manufacturer to find someone to service the units. It turns out the manufacturer's of both units have had many complaints and issued service bulletins for new replacement parts that we never heard about since Billy Wood has no contact with manufacturer service departments. We'd look elsewhere if doing this again and find a retailer that stood behind their products. read more

I just stopped in at Billy Wood Appliances. I was met quickly by a sales rep who looked at me without saying anything and I said we were looking for a new replacement refrigerator. He sort of smirked and asked "in stock"? I was taken back a bit as the look and smile he gave made me feel stupid for even asking. I said we didn't need it immediately and asked how long a wait and he said 3-4 weeks, which I said was not a problem. I then explained the size constraints we were working with in our kitchen and he seemed to grow less interested in assisting me, but did some looking on his computer and said, with little interest, that it would be more like 4-6 months. He didn't even ask what price range we were looking at, but price wasn't as big a deal to us as a quality appliance, offering good value, backed up by good customer service. I told him I lived on the island and always preferred to support local businesses over the big box stores on the mainland. He just looked at me and clearly didn't really care one way or the other. I honestly felt like I was an intrusion, not a customer interested in working with them. Also, he kept drinking bottled water during our entire conversation, which seemed a tad rude to me. My guess is this business really is only interested in high-end entire kitchen remodels or new construction. It's too bad, as we're planning on also purchasing a new oven/stove and dishwasher in the next year, though I didn't mention that. However, I guess I don't fit the customer demographic they aim to attract, so will go to off island businesses more interested in assisting me. Their loss. read more

spent a tremendous amount of money on all new appliances for our new kitchen. waited forever. when installed the installers left without confirming all of the brackets were there to attach door panels. it took two tries to get all the parts to attach them. They also didn't test the microwave for heating. it didn't heat the first time it was used. An appointment for repair was set up. sales manager said they couldn't replace it even though it was never used. So we will now have a rebuilt microwave for the cost of a brand new one. so the repairman came out ordered two major parts. wasn't sure of the issue so ordered both "just in case". parts came and were wrong. Ordered more parts. Now 3 months since installation and $1400 microwave still doesn't work. Billy Woods' sales manager said they have no skin in the game. They got paid and are walking away. I recently had to replace an old cooktop and I was referred to Billy Wood Appliances. I wasn't purchasing a whole kitchen as so many new residents do in this area, so I was concerned I wouldn't be a high priority. However, right from the very first visit through to end I was impressed with the sales person's (Betsy) knowledge and how she understood my needs. I was also please with the installation by Cooper's Home Improvement. They arrived when they said they would and easily overcame some challenges that so often happen in a renovation job. I will certainly go back to Billy Wood Appliance when I need another appliance. read more

We have had a terrible experience with Billy Wood Appliance. No contact for when the refrigerator arrived-we were not home! No manual left for us to use. When we called for some service, no contact made to set up a date. I have called 3 times now and still no contact made to fix our NEW refrigerator. I would never buy from them again. They used to be good but not anymore. Plus the cost is more than elsewhere on the island!!!! read more

Not a great first impression. Walked in and there were no customers in the building and three employees who I am not sure even greeted me. When I mentioned that I was working with a local builder and that I wanted to view a manufacturers product, one of the sales associates waved his arms and told me it was back there. When I got to the area I asked if there were more products and again he just pointed in a direction.. As I was leaving I asked the other sales rep if there was a specific product in the store and he said no and at that time he mentioned The name of the sales rep for my builder. Clearly these people did not want to help me because they were not going to be compensated and therefore had no interest in the customer experience. This experience does not help me feel confident going forward particularly when I read the other reviews that this organization does not have a service department and seems to have other issues with taking care if their customers. Will definitely explore other options. read more

in December, 2014 I bought a very expensive line undercounter wine cooler. in February, 2015 so two months..the wine cooler quit working..it is now June 8, 2015 and i still don't have a working wine cooler and Billy Woods could care less. ( this doesn't include the very expensive ice maker that quit after a year and after failed fixes sits in the garage. it too was bought from Billy Woods. ) I will NEVER buy anything from this company again...they have no in company service and hire incompetent servicemen and do not care if their product works or doesn't work. read more
