I love Walter's Camp and appreciate meeting Tabitha today. She's lovely and has a great authentic…read morequality about her. She is a graciously sincere kind person and will be very helpful to make sure her guests are well cared for. Thanks to her yet again for making our trip extra wonderful. It is a great place to launch watercraft and explore. Today on the river was beautiful and I can't wait for next time! Be sure to take the time to visit Walter's Camp and don't let the bumpy gravel road deter you! Say hi to Tabitha and check out the general store. It's well stocked for a small place. Thankful yet again!!

The general store has a few items, merchandise, and even a bar back that is used when the camp is in full swing after Memorial Day according to Tabitha. I chose a far site at the edge of the property underneath two tamarisk/salt cedar trees which was great for shade. I launched my canoe at the concrete boat ramp and paddled the old Colorado River channel right out in front of the camp which is not lacking in it's scenery of Cibola Natl Wildlife Refuge and the beautiful Trigo Mountains Wilderness viewable eastward. Nighttime is where things came alive! Dozens of braying burros, coyotes, and owls that would hoot up a storm in the trees above me. An a/c or refrigeration until by the general store ran in cycles all night and was about as annoying as someone running a generator. The facilities provided had showers and pit toilets, all in good condition. Taking a moment to stretch/yoga before the morning paddle in the communal hang out area in front of the general store was a great idea. I was greeted by an amazing SW sherbet sunrise over the calm waters of the inner channel of the Colorado, it was spectacular. I'm typically a dispersed camper, so some of my gripes about the noise you can probably take with a grain of salt. Would I stay the night again? Sure, but I'd prefer something a bit more isolated. Thank you Tabitha for all your advice on boating the river as a novice, appreciate what you do!

When we arrived at Mittry Lake they were already there waiting for us and by the time we walked from the car to the ramp the kayaks were ready for us to hop in. This was the first time for a couple of us so it was really nice that Leto's made sure that we knew the basics and made sure to answer all of our questions before we took off. The lake is beautiful! Very peaceful and relaxing! It's really nice at the boat ramp, there is a huge covered picnic area with several tables and bbqs. The only thing I would change about our recent kayaking trip with Leto's is upping the 2 hour rental that we had and reserving them for longer! Such a great company and amazing experience. 10 out of 10 would definitely recommend!

The kayaks were of excellent quality and much better than typical rentals. Owner Dale was also super helpful and accommodating for us. We had a super fun time kayaking at the south end of the Colorado River with lots of interesting channels making you feel like you were exploring the jungle of the Amazonas at times. This is the most fun place I think I have ever kayaked. If you want to have a great time kayaking, this is the place for sure and if you need to rent this is the place to get rentals.

An ideal place to visit any time of the year ( especially wintertime"). One can feed the ducks and…read morefish with food you brought yourself or for a small fee what the conversation has on site. Recently, we brought a pack or two of bread and had a good time enjoying nature and outdoors. You can still feed the ducks when it's closed by throwing their food over or thru the fence. Worth visiting for something completely different.

This is an AWESOME OASIS right along the highway (Open Nov thru April on Saturdays 9-5 and Sundays…read more12-5) with so much to do in a quiet, hassle-free space. The 28-acre site includes a botanical garden featuring Sonoran desert vegetation, a watershed model, a pond for wild and domestic waterfowl, and a display of antique farm equipment. Rumor has it that there is also a mysterious tortoise that hangs out there, but you have to find him!!! The BEST thing about the place it that you can walk around in silence and clear your head, chek out the antique tractors and farm equipment, enjoy the vegitation or just sit in the shade (many benches provided along the way) near the pond and watch the ducks and the other people (very kid friendly) enjoying themselves. I would check out their website, because it's loaded with suggestions and facts about the awesome garden activities. http://www.yumaconservationgarden.org/YCG%20Activities.htm
