Normally Billy's gives good customer service but after what I experienced today I will not be going back. From the minute we walked in the waitress named CARRIE (not sure if it's spelled right but after the way she treated us I don't care) was absolutely so rude. I understand the stress that comes with a big party but we came in prior to decorate and still was very very rude and unacceptable. However there was a younger girl who picked up the slack where Carrie lacked. Let's give her a raise. We stopped in this town on a Saturday night and decided to dine here. We began our meal with calf fries as an appetizer, which were cooked perfectly. For dinner, we ordered the Saturday prime rib special. The prime rib had a pleasant smoky flavor that was not overpowering. Our waitress was kind and attentive throughout our visit. The best part was the price; our total bill came to just over $60. Typically, two prime rib dinners would cost well over $100. I was staying in town (chasing storms) and found this was open later than most of the other places in town. The two bartenders were friendly and somewhat conversational. Great selection on the menu. Food came to my spot at the bar quickly. It's not overly noisy and there were quite a few people there. I'll be back the next time I'm chasing storms around town again. read more

This place is massive! I was surprised by how many people that were there for it being a Monday night. They have a food special just about every day of the week. The atmosphere is pretty cool and all the workers seemed really nice and helpful. The food was not spectacular though. I ordered a burger and fries. The burger was as well done as could possibly be without it being burnt and the fries were incredibly greasy. This place is located next to the bowling alley which is pretty great cause you can go from bowling to the bar. The atmosphere is very laid back with a lot of different accent pieces. The server was friendly enough. They had coffee but it wasn't good and they only had powdered creamer. I got the chicken tacos and they were pretty good. Loaded with grilled chicken,cheese, lettuce, and sour cream. While they were good there was not much flavor to them. We got sweet potato fried which were crispy, and soft. My husband really liked his dish which included a very vinegary coleslaw, tasted fresh. Overall an A Ok Experience. read more

After avoiding this spot for a year we thought we would give it a try. We had an unapologetically rude server- beer served in plastic and were overall disappointed. Highly recommend you avoid the Billy's Philly- it had a lot of Texas Toast and very little "philly". We have options and will not be back. read more

Stopped here on the way to Albuquerque for lunch and enjoyed it very much. Good authentic barbecue. Very tender brisket. Nice ambiance inside. Although we sat outside with our dog. The coleslaw was not so great though. Tasted like something they bought from Sysco. But the sweet potato fries were delicious. It worth heading off the 54 for a few miles. read more

Sunday special, chicken. fried, tenders or gizzards. mashed potatoes gravy and corn. my husband and I both ordered fried. then gizzards to go. waitress asked if we needed more Pepsi before the meal arrived. I said yes please. no refills yet. brought out our plates. I'm front of husband was fried chicken. my plate had a chicken fried steak. now, I said to her I had ordered the chicken, she says I HEARD CHICKEN FRIED STEAK. I again politely told her she misheard me. now, I would've just kept what she brought and been happy with it but the special, $6.95. The steak $16. she exchanged them no problem. aside from the chicken looked as though it was maybe a very young chicken, very dry white meat and the wing was just bone and breading. when we took the gizzards to go got home and there was no corn nor a roll. they need to reconsider the specials and how long to keep the chicken in a warmer. read more

The food was good, she did a Great job on the Jack,& Coke, The bartender was the only girl above 21,and was very nice. The other staff was bossy attitude. There's nothing better than having a punk kid younger than your daughter with a attitude with no respect, sense respect. At that very spot in my post the owner of the business walked up to me and was reading what I wrote, and started asking me if I wrote this post? And was showing me his phone ( I couldn't read his old cheapo phone ) and started reading me the text, than started insulting me, making a big scene telling me how the girls worked hard there whole life,& and that I was Wiesel,& a zero for leaving a post, and demanding that I leave never come back, & don't pay the bill ( I laid a $20 down, I pay my bills!!!) Never asking me what went wrong with the service!! Now I recorded the conversation, and will be contacting the Better Business Bureau,& emailing them the recording!!! ( if the owner was drunk I'll email him the recording if he can't remember, or he can talk too the staff that asked him too calm down) Now what I would recommend customers is I'm sure you'll get good food,and drinks,& if the service is bad keep it too yourself, or at least till you Leave there property, or at least till the owner sobers up!! Horrible experience. Don't take your family if you expect any service or good food. We had to get out own silverware, plates, drink refills, etc. Food was cold and took over 3 hours. Restaurant wasn't busy and even when the managers daughter got involved and finally replaced our cold food, she still requires us to pay over $25 dollars for gratitude of our 9 people table for a waitress who didnt even earn $1. When I tried to dispute the gratuity and even stated I would rather pay the manager the required gratuity who actually got us a drink than the waitress, I was yelled at and told by the owner daughter ( manager) that the waitress worked hard and that the gratuity was required and that my money would go to the waitress. No customer should be made to pay money especially $25 plus for a gratuity of any meal with no service, which is more thane 2 meals of our 9 people table. No customer should be yelled at by an owner daughter who doesn't care because her family owns the business or be required to Pay money that is not a required part of the bill when they have such bad service. Maybe Im from a bigger town but this is not the first time I have come to visit and had that experience there. I dont recommend this place unless the owner is there and not the daughter. go to Old Chicago or another place that is not family owned so if there is an issue it will Be addressed. read more

Great BBQ, with a good variety of other menu items. A fun casual atmosphere. An adjacent bowling alley is not obtrusive, but gives you additional people watching opportunities. I had a pulled pork sandwich with homemade fries. My friend had the Sunday special of fried chicken. Both meals were top notch! read more

I have a hard time eating at BBQ places anymore because I've had so many experiences with the best BBQ has to offer. That being said I won't tell you I was blown away with the BBQ, I mean they do a fine job especially the ribs, they are spot on. What really got me were the finer details. The waitress was wonderful, she was totally laid back but attentive. I ordered a three meat dinner with double the pulled pork and ribs with a salad and fried okra. I like to judge bbq on the pulled pork and ribs, if you can't get those right you're lost on me. They did a great job, the pulled pork was good, if I were to critique it I'd say they could have pulled it more. The ribs though were great! They had a very nice exterior that was well seasoned and a very tender fall off the bone interior and the flavor was excellent. They give you three sauce choices, mild, sweet n spicy, or spicy. I favored the spicy, they even gave me a small bottle of it with my box to go! A very nice touch! They give you your drink in a plastic souvenir cup as well. The small details are so important! They are a great place to have some bbq and have definitely earned 5 stars in my book! read more

The atmosphere is nice. They have back rooms for large groups. The food is decent, and there's a large menu, but it's a lot of fried frozen stuff. I would recommend you go elsewhere, food is always cold and stale. If you complain they will nuke your meal!! Manager is to busy drinking at the bar to come to your table and not sure but the cook was also spending his time in bar as well. This is one of those eclectic places attached to the Liberal Kansas bowling alley. I haven't tried Kansas BBQ so what better place than Blue Duck BBQ. The place is a hoppin place. There were people in the bar, the restaurant, and the patio eating. I ordered the brisket, a true test of BBQ skills. It came with two sides. I asked for onion straws and fried okra. I also ordered it to go. I had the choice of sweet or spicy, I took both. She also included ranch for my okay and onion straws. They didn't give the little plastic cups you normally get they gave me a bottle of ranch dressing and two different bottles of barbecue sauce who gets that we went back and checked into a motel and I ate my barbecue and it was absolutely fabulous the Smoke Ring was there the bark was there the flavor was there everything just melted in your mouth and it was extremely good thank you Blue Duck BBQ Liberal Kansas I'll be there again . read more

The BBQ is great not to mention the baked potato salad is yummy! Also try the pepperjack cheese nuggets (curds or bites forgot actual name) or the onion strings. One of my favorite meals is a pulled pork grilled cheese sandwich. read more
