Played golf at this location and can say one of the best Public courses I have ever played. Greens were fast and true. Green side bunkers had nice sand and were groomed. Fairways ran out and tee box were wel designed. The pro shop had good variety of hats and polo's and the cart service and water stations were awesome playing once on this trip but will play at this course next time in Miami. read more

Took reservation and when we showed up they did not allow the wives to accompany the group and then said if the blouses did not have collars they were unable to be on the golf course. Completely rude. Customer service skills were lacking no empathy whatsoever. Completely disappointed in a normally pleasant venue. I have played aproximately 2 dozen florida courses and this course is probably in the top 5 worst condition while being the top 5 most expensive I have played. I get that there is history here but the fairways and greens on the front were absolutely terrible with #1 lined with a chain link fence. The back nine was better but still did not justify the rate. As a resident of Sarasota I booked the South Florida rate of $112. When I got there, I was told I could not have the South Florida rate and they charged me $300 for green fee and rental clubs. Then had to pay $8 for a small bucket of range balls. Definitely got robbed on this one. I have played better Muni courses. read more

I recently played this course and it was a fantastic experience. The course is absolutely in impeccable shape and quite challenging. All the associates that we interacted with at the golf course were outgoing and friendly and helpful. The front nine is a good tuneup for the more challenging back nine. The day we played was crystal clear blue skies and the views of the historic Biltmore hotel from each of the holes was amazing. This is a public course, however it feels like it is more private as it is maintained really well and a high attention to the details. If you play on the weekdays, the prices are well off the weekend prices. Also if you are a resident of Coral Gables or the Miami Dade area you get a cut on the round price. The round price is not cheap, however it's well worth it. During our round, the play was never rushed nor did we ever have to wait. It was a solid and busy Monday, Pace of play was smooth, and a very enjoyable a A plus experience in Miami. read more

Second time there today 8/20 to use the practice range. Walked into the clubhouse to buy two very small overpriced large buckets and was told I wouldn't be sold balls unless I had golf attire. I asked the young balding man behind the counter what specifically did he mean by golf attire. He said a collared shirt. I said I didn't realize that was a requirement then asked my father if he happened to have one in his car. He said he did, he would grab it from his car and be right back. Great! At that point I proceeded to ask the young balding man for the buckets again. He said I can't sell you the balls until I see the shirt. At this I almost lost it. Here me out. So this young balding man didn't want to give me the benefit of the doubt I would actually put on the collared shirt AND OR he believed my dad was possibly a liar and needed actual proof the collared shirt was indeed in his car. Pretty insulting. So of course my dad had the shirt (32 year retiree Miami Dade County sheriff) and of course I followed the Biltmore outdated rule and put on the collared in 90+ degree weather. Next time, just trust your PAYING customers instead of assuming the worst. Your people skills needs serious work young fella. Tip to management, train better. So to top it off, the range was in HORRIBLE condition. If I'm desperate to be treated like sh*t and use a sh*tty range I'll go back to the Biltmore. read more

There is a vintage and timeless quality to this property that is fun to experience. The towering building, the expansive grounds, the immense pool surrounded by dining tables where the neo classic statuettes give it an aura of historic golf from the twenties. The golf course is by Donald Ross and is a typical Florida links with wind, sand and bunkers in your way. Recently, Jim Mclean came over from Doral to head the golf program. The course is scheduled to close on July 3 for an expansive restoration / remodel. Lately, it seems they have begun to let it go a bit since it's going to close - and it shows. The greens, however, were recently rolled and were fast and true. It''s a very player friendly resort type course that is fun to walk, albeit not in 95 degree weather. Price for money this place is not even close to worth it. (Even with the hotdeal on golfnow) This is "after the remodel". Go to crandon/Miccouskee for the same quality course for 1/2 the price. 1/4 of the tee boxes were not useable and had the tee-boxes at the ladies tee's (not every hole). For the price that they ask, you should expect a prestine course. Like trump's course. Of course it is expensive but, you get a nice product. Will not be coming back. read more

Good golf course from a challenge standpoint. This was my high school course growing up but now that I live out of town the one time I came back to play it I found it way over priced. It is way too expensive at the out of town rate for the type of course it is. This is the golf course I get googly eyes over. I love their driving range its perfect! All it takes is for you to park go into the golf shop pay and they give you a slip with your code then you head out to the machine that dispenses your golf balls. COOL RIGHT! I know :) I'm still to chicken to do an 18-hole game but i'm building up the courage! But that hasn't stopped me from skipping the18-holes and head straight to the 19th hole for drinks, what... you can get parched at the driving range and nothing a little club soda vodka can't take care of. My kids have learned so much from Biltmore Hotel's Junior Golf Academy. They love it there. There are fish jumping from the water, Canadian Geese strolling around, and Iguanas munching on mowed grass. It's beautiful there and very peaceful and pleasant. Its a great place to go and relax. Yes, the Biltmore Hotel has a relaxation room in the Spa area which is quite nice with soft sounds, scented water and peaceful relaxing ambiance. I've decided to make it a routine for my daughters to play golf and then at least once a month spend a little bit of time in the relaxation room and enjoy a nice spa treatment after their golf lesson. Renee Trudeau's Junior 60 Minute Person Lesson is a great customized golf lesson for kids. We pay for a package of 5 lessons which is less than paying by the hour. Mrs. Trudeau checked our kids out and discerned what their needs were and knew right away how to get them in shape. Of course it takes years to be a winning golfer but Mrs. Trudeau is definitely the best of the best. If you doubt, just ask her to use the driver on the range and see how far that golf ball flies up in the air and off into the distance. She's really good at golf. We got a great deal to play here on June 22 under the terms that the course was under renovation. And was it ever. The fairways had just been sprayed with pesticide so they were all dead. Completely brown and dry with dead grass sticking to your legs. It was like hitting off compacted dirt. We kept joking around on wayward shots into the rough that at least we weren't in the fairway. Aim for the rough, you'll have a better lie. The greens were in great condition compared to the fairways but they were pretty awful as well. Maybe they just aerated them. Even with the slightest of taps, downhill puts would fly 10-15 feet by the hole. Anyway that's not why I give it only 3 stars. They are missing some niceties that I would expect from a course of this caliber. Bag drop is simply that, you drop your bags and no one is there to help you. Only a big deal because the parking lot was full and we had to walk a long way. The driving range mats are awful, completely worn out and uneven with soft spots. Also didn't appreciate getting showered by dead grass on several holes as they blew off the fairways. The carts seemed under powered and would automatically shut off if you entered the no casts area. Without and "no carts" signs this became very annoying. The video display inside the cart was great though. Displaying each hole with its own range finder for distance was very useful . I hope to the next time I play they've completed their renovations, at which point I can update my review. I wouldn't play here again under the current conditions and wouldn't recommend you do either. To be continued...... read more

what a rip off to play here ! i paid 100 bucks for a 9 hole non resident rate to play on a wednesday morning.. insult to injury they charge 25 bucks for a 10 year ld and another 35 bucks for a junior set of clubs which they did not have. they only had a ladies so with a cart and bucket of balls it was $175 bucks !!!! for only nine holes !!!!... set. i play amateur golf and all over the country so i am no stranger to green fees but this was outrageous. they charge half for a miami dade resident..wtf is this a county course ???? no its a typical hotel course that is just average. i will never play there again. read more
