Only -1 stars because being tourists we found out that they weren't running their complimentary shuttle until April and they expected all people visiting to have their own car and Ubers can't get close to drop off. It says it's a 3 mile walk and they don't recommend it but I swear the walk to the winery had to have been at least 5-7 miles, glad we didn't try and walk. Came here for the complimentary tasting! They just upped the tasting to 7 wines and you got to choose which you wanted to try which was nice. Didn't wait long in line and the worker pouring for us was very nice. I visited the Biltmore Winery as a part of my full-day experience at the Biltmore Estate. The tasting comes complimentary with the price of a ticket to the house. You should be prepared to stand in line and wait as they do the tastings in small groups and everyone starts / finishes by group at roughly the same time. You have plenty of choices for your five complimentary tastes. The server was knowledgeable about the wines and helped you make choices if you needed advice. We visited the winery during a recent trip to Biltmore with friends. It was complimentary with the price of a ticket to the house. We stood in line for 30 minutes on a Friday early afternoon and were invited to choose 5 tastings from the list of 20 or so available to taste. Most of them were good, but I especially liked the Cardinal Crest red blend and the Cabernet Sauvignon. We bought a case (using a nice mixed case discount of 20%) of the dry rose and Cardinal Crest. The tasting room itself is beautiful and was decorated nicely for the holidays. You can pop across to the wine bar to enjoy a glass or bottle as well. Date of visit: September 18, 2024 Probably considered the Crown Jewel of all of the shops at the Biltmore Village, The Winery is a massive store featuring a lot more than just wine. I myself snagged some honey mustard pretzels as a souvenir and even found something to bring home for our dog. There were items that were available to sample as well (again, not just wine!) and the staff that I interacted with were very friendly. The price points here do tend to be on the higher end, but that is a consistent theme at Biltmore (I'm sure keeping this place going is NOT cheap!) and despite that, I did find items that were within my budget, which I appreciated. Make sure you take the underground walkway into or out of the Winery, the LED lights are quite impressive in both volume and display. read more

I've been to Biltmore Winery twice when I visited the Biltmore Estate: once with some friends on a Bachelor's Party weekend and again with my wife for her birthday celebration. The latter was fun for us as we enjoyed the walk underground to the main-floor tasting room and retail store. The building, located in one part of the large property comprising the estate, has a very enchanted entrance, which was initially built in 1985. First, you go through this walkway comprised of a green overhang canopy. Then, you go through the wooden double doorway, which slopes downward into an underground stone-built hallway. You pass various caves storing barrel-aged wine and sparkling wine behind wrought iron gating before you go through the final stretch of sparkly lighting hanging from the walls and ceiling to give the experience once again an enchanted feel. Finally, you reach a set of stairs that take you up to the main area where the wine store and tasting rooms are located. We enjoyed a flight of wines ranging from whites to red, but mostly red, for about 15 to 20 minutes. We moved to the retail area, where I purchased a bottle or two of wine. This is a unique winery that's located on the Bill on property. It's not your typical winery experience. There's not really a tour.. the staff are a little snooty. The product is higher here than it is if you were to buy it in the local grocery store or total wine, I would think it would be the reverse or opposite. When you come to do a tasting, you can only taste five wines. I'm surprised if they only let you taste five considering they would want to sell more wine. I think they feel like it sells because of the name. There is a massive line just to use a tasting. It reminds me of a Disney park experience because you wait in line for over an hour. It's very overrated. They have a large store where you can buy several items for related to wine and more. They share that you could only get limited-edition bottles at this location. A complimentary tasting at the winery (small sip of 5 different options) is included in the price of admission to the Biltmore Estate. The winery is part of the Antler Hill village which is a nice stop after visiting the house and gardens. Be sure to allocate at least 15 minutes for the tasting. One really nice thing is that you can customize your tasting based on your preference - I was only interested in white wines due to a mild allergic reaction to tannins (in red wines). The wine expert was very accommodating. Among the whites, I was not terribly impressed with the chardonnay and other dry option. But if you enjoy German rieslings, their off-dry whites are really nice. The gewurtraminner has a delightful floral scent, but was a little weak on the finish. Their bestselling white wine is the Orange Muscat (which I found a bit overpowering due to the "tropical fruit" flavor). I purchased the Limited Reserve Chenin Blanc (which is closer to a German riesling). It's ideal for pairings with spicy Asian food (Thai) and sushi - but maybe a little too sweet on its own for some. Anyway, you can pick up a bottle in the wine shop and a souvenir if you like (such as a Christmas ornament). There's also a bistro just across from the wine shop. read more

Decided to go on a day date with my husband and after we toured the Christmas tour, we had the opportunity to go to the wine tasting. We have went before but they had different wines to try. Although their wine is normally in stores, my favorite, Chenin Blanc is not, so I made sure to purchase a few bottles! The wine aficionado was professionally, informative, and funny. She explained every wine we tried and taught us how to smell the wines and to eat crackers in between samples. I recommend everyone to go and make sure you get enough Chenin Blanc! The walk through to the winery is beautiful. It transports you to another place and time. The store is extensive and features a Chihuly piece in the center! The free tasting is well done with five samples and oyster crackers for palate cleansing. A small convenience is having hooks for bags and jackets. The server was patient and knowledgeable. Did the complimentary wine tasting experience that came with our 2 day Biltmore Estate tour and I'm so glad we took time at the tail end as it served as the perfect capstone! The wines we tasted were the Grenache, Sauvignon Blanc, Tempranillo, Malbec and finally the Hunt Red Blend from Sonoma. Not too much a fan of the whites but they were dry and subtle which is what I like. Sweet wines are cloying for me. But the highlight were the 3 reds I tried. They all were dry, full-bodied and rich but the Malbec was just so delicious I almost asked for a full pour (I was driving back to the hotel so I opted just for a small taste). Nevertheless I made sure I didn't let that be the last time I tried it as I bought the whole bottle (along with the Tempranillo). What was a little disappointing was they didn't include the Petite Sirah-Syrah in the menu. Nonetheless, I bought the bottle as well and will savor every drop in the bottle. Overall it was a fine experience and one I will do again - we're thinking of coming back during New Year's Day to see the Christmas lights and decor, and buy more wine! A+ experience! read more

We visited the winery for a tasting twice during our 2-day visit to the Biltmore Estate. The tasting is included in your admission but you must schedule in advance via a QR code. The days we were there there were many time slots already booked. From where you enter to the actual tasting room you walk down a hallway which feels as if you are in a wine cellar. The atmosphere is as if you are in Napa. The wines were good, there are fliers for you to join their wine club. The employees are knowledgeable and passionate about the wines. You select the 5 wines from the current tasting list to sample. During our first visit, the employee treated us to an extra sample. Each wine tasting counter accommodates about 8 people. There is a fairly large shop adjacent to the tasting room with wine, a lot of glasses and wine paraphernalia. The tastings are free but we tipped the employee. read more

SIP SIP HOORAY! I wasn't going to leave a review for the Biltmore Winery separately from the Biltmore Estate but I had to because we LOVED our wine tasting guide! Don was awesome - he was entertaining and engaging, and knew his stuff about the Biltmore wines! The tasting came with our Biltmore estate tour ticket purchase so we couldn't leave without stopping by. As others mentioned, I would try to make a reservation as soon as possible, so you don't have to wander around the estate more than you have to. Overall, the wines themselves are all fine, with some that tasted better than others - there were one or two I enjoyed so I bought a bottle to enjoy at home later. The gift shop is MASSIVE so it's basically impossible to leave without making some sort of purchase. If the tasting is included in your ticket, I definitely recommend taking advantage! read more

Wonderful experience. We've been to a lot of wineries and tastings ( I'm from upstate NY near the finger lakes, so many wonderful wineries). The reservation process online, day of visit was very easy. We got there early and the gentleman at the winery offered an earlier time slot, and canceled our later reservation very easily. They have limited space, so reservations are a must. Our "Wine Guide" (Scott(?)), was friendly, knowledgeable and made our experience a 10+.
