BimmerTech's products and customer service is outstanding. I have purchased multiple USB Coding items (Apple CarPlay, RDC Safety, & Legal Disclaimer Deactivation), the AlphaOne Speaker Upgrade, and the Premium Audio System amplifier upgrade. First the coding. Apple CarPlay required a wireless antenna to be shipped to me. Shipping was fast, and the installation instructions provided (as well as their very helpful YouTube channel) made installation easy, done in about 20 minutes. The USB coding was remarkably easy to load onto a thumb drive and install into your system. The AlphaOne Speaker upgrade and Amplifier has made a huge difference to my car's audio system. Self installation was a little daunting. I have never installed speakers in a car before, but I decided to try it after watching BimmerTech's installation instructional videos. Shipping was fast, and the quality of the speakers and amp was apparent from the moment I opened the boxes. It was surprisingly easy to install and I was able to accomplish the full installation of the amp, and 9 speakers in about 3 hours. The whole process is truly plug-and-play. The sound quality of the system is amazing. It is hard to explain exactly how much better the audio system sounds. The system is truly better than advertised. It is expensive, but worth every penny. One last thing about BimmerTech's customer service. I have reached out to them via their website chat multiple times. Every time, the support staff was able to help me and resolve my issue quickly. On the one time a rep was not online and couldn't help me immediately, I left a message and they got back to me within 2 hours. read more

Hello! I have installed CarPlay MMI Prime from bimmertech to my BMW 428i and the product and service are outstanding. it was not very difficult to install and everything works perfectly, I also installed the front camera and it also works perfectly. so I have nothing to complain about the product, and fast delivery too. so all in all 100% thumbs up. Remember to disconnect the car battery before installation, then just follow the installation videos from YouTube and connect the fiber cable to the connector that comes with the set, this is plug and play, anyone who is a bit handy can do this. the biggest problem was getting room for the wires behind the main unit but just be patient and you'll get there easily once you've removed the glove box. You can easily switch between BMW oem unit and mmi prime I use spotify for music plus the usb plug that I have in the glove box, for navigation I use google maps, and you can use siri with buttons on the steering wheel, works with oem microphone. My iPhone was also very easy to pair to mmi prime, phone list and voice control work as well as idrive the wheel. I am very happy with this product. read more

I recently purchased the 2020 map upgrade for my BMW X5.The whole process from the time I placed the order to when I received the USB was very quick and easy. Unfortunately I had some issues with the installation where the software was not being recognised (Auto start). I reached out to BimmerTech and the after sales service was the best. After a quick diagnostic, it turns out the USB was corrupted (which can happen sometimes). I was provided with a link to download the 2020 map update files. Even though the download took a few hours to complete, but once completed and the data was moved onto a new USB, the installation process was very easy. Within minutes, my map was updated to 2020. Thank you so much to BimmerTech and the support team. Excellent customer service. It was such a fantastic experience. I will definitely purchase more from BimmerTech. Well done team. I purchased the CarPlay MMI Prime and the rear view camera for my 2012 BMW Z3. The unit was shipped fast and packaged. The installation instructions were easy to follow and I finished the full installation in under 5 hours. I am not an expert installer, but I can change my own oil. There is also a YouTube video to follow if you get stuck. I watch the full video before I started the installation. The hardest and longest part of the installation was running the wire to the rear camera. All the connectors are labeled and kind of idiot proof, where you can't plug in to the wrong port. Over all great unit and I now have Apple CarPlay and a rear view camera in my 2012 car. read more

I ordered the 2020 map update for my 2015 BMW X1. The update came to me via a flash thumb drive. The hardest part was finding the USB to plug into to get the process started. I did contact the customer support throught the pop up chat to help me locate the USB port and they were both curtious and patient. Once it was located the procedure was painless, although it did take some time to get installed due to the size of the files. Everything worked as it should and now my house address shows up on my car! This was a massive update for not only the street maps but the points of interest as well. I have had 3 coding sessions to date with BimmerTech. I have found the service to be excellent each time, the latest coding session I had was for the Start & Stop Button (coded to remember last setting now). As always it worked as stated and the coding person was on time and gave clear instructions all the way through the process. I have recommended BimmerTech to friends and even to BMW dealers as something they should offer to their clients, as the service offered at dealerships is lacking in both understanding, delivery and price compared to BimmerTech. It had gotten to the time that my BMW onboard maps were out of date and no longer reliable. While my X5 was at the dealership for other service I asked about updating the maps and their price convinced me that Google maps would do just fine. But I'd lose my head up display! Bimmer Tech to the rescue. The product and service were outstanding. Their rep did a great job ensuring that I had the correct map upgrade for my vehicle and the install was super easy. Adding BimmerTech has been a perfect bridge to integrate additional technology to a late-model BMW. Getting CarPlay onscreen with OEM level controls has brought the car right up to date as if the technology was there the whole time. Ordering the unit with VIN verification made getting the right equipment removed any guesswork, shipping was really fast, and the install support documentation and videos were great. I'd suggest an extra set of hands for the install, which only took about 90 minutes, on a X5. My "help" liked it so much he went home and ordered one for his M2. read more

I purchased the MMI unit for my 2016 X5. Pre and post sale communication with Bimmertech was excellent and the unit arrived quickly (I am in Australia). The MMI unit is as good as any OEM Apple Car play that I have used in other vehicles and is working flawlessly. It has brought my vehicle up to date. Even though the fitting instructions were clear, I wasn't brave enough to attempt the install myself. I recently upgraded the map for my BMW X5 to the 2020 version. My vehicle is 5 years old, and we started running into situations where the original map was obviously out of date as we sometimes appeared to be driving in fields. Ordering was easy, delivery was great, and installation was a snap. My USB was delivered within several days. You install the USB and the upgrade is automatic. Note that you require a separate USB for each vehicle, if you own more than one. read more

Map upgrade from my original 2012 to 2020 was awesome - flawless with impressive results! Anticipating automatic ignition cut-off on my 535i, I kept the engine running. It's a good 10-15 minutes to upload such a large file. Connect to a battery charger is recommended. Overall, very happy with the upgrade (method & price) and VERY fast shipping also! read more

I purchased the latest map update for my 2015 328i and I am delighted. My navigation now uses the same routes that google maps uses and in my area that means time saved. Very pleased because although it's fine to use my phone is better to have the map on my navigation. Plus the car's nav works even when the phone signal doesn't. Yay. read more
