We looked around and read many reviews. We decided to contact Twin Cities Furnace Cleaning. They did not answer the phone right away but I received a call very quickly. I explained the situation and how we have some allergies, and they took the time to listen and go over all the details. They then recommended Steve who is the go-to guy when it comes to allergies as well as other things related. We set up an appointment with Steve, and Steve arrived early. He set up his equipment and was very mindful about making a mess as well as getting things dirty and wet. He took his time to explain as well as show me what was going on and answer all my questions. Because of allergies Steve took his time and made sure each vent was cleaned as best as possible. The things I saw in the ductwork were scary, which had built up over the years of this property. After he was done, we swapped the air filter and within 20 minutes of running, I could smell the difference in the air. The air felt lighter and did not have a heavy feel. Also, my air purifiers were not reading off the charts anymore. Steve did a fantastic job and I would highly recommend him as well as Twin Cities Furnace Cleaning. I ended up getting their Ultimate cleaning or whatever the highest one was, and compared to other places, it was cheap. The price you pay for what you get is a bargain. It ended up being $541.00 with tax and worth every penny.

BEWARE: Independent contractors are used by this company who carry their own insurance. I had an…read moreunfortunate situation where a furnace drain hose was bumped out of place by one of this company's independent contractors causing a leak in my ceiling weeks before my house was to close to a new owner. My claim was declined. The insurance company required unrealistic things like a photo of the space prior to incident showing the hose in place. Who takes pictures of their furnace? This resulted in a costly last-minute repair to my ceiling. Essentially this means that you are at the mercy of a potential crappy insurance policy carried by the contractor and that the owner takes no personal responsibility for potential damage.

We're a young family that tends to DIY, but we know when it's time to bring in the pros. McQuillan carries an excellent reputation as a skilled, honest, union shop. We had an interesting experience working with them that could have turned out very poorly. We think it's worth singing their praises still, however, because of the manner in which they responded to what could have been a bad situation. It's always good to know that a company will correct an error if it is made. McQuillan went above and beyond. Our original bid was done by a very nice gentleman who apparently overpromised and underquoted what was to be done. Unfortunately, this didn't seem to be the first time this had happened and he was quickly let go. The short story is that our basement pipes ended up being abated and removed by a subcontractor before McQuillan's install team caught that the correction to our problem would be FAR more expensive and difficult that had been originally discussed. We were left scared and frustrated with no heat in our home and a toddler. Within hours of the situation arising, the owner of the company was at our home personally to apologize, explain how they were going to handle it. The project was completely in no time and we were given a very significant discount to remedy the situation. The installation professionals were thorough, profession, efficient, and friendly. Care was taken to consult with us on the placement of most every pipe to ensure it fit with our future vision and use of a very disjointed and old basement. Despite a few hiccups along the way, McQuillan came through and did wonderful work. We will certainly work with them again when we are in need of their services.

I bought an expensive new air conditioner that doesn't work, and they will not make it right. I feel foolish for replacing aging but operational air with a new one that will not work. We can't even get a live human on the phone anymore. It's sad, this great company.

I'm going to be the unhinged cheer leader of Standard Heating and Air conditioning FOREVER. Our…read more34yr old furnace started doing a death dirge near the end of the winter this year. Weston came out to take a look around, and let us know that the old show girl was about 40,000 BTUs too large, had parts falling off of her, and was venting more carbon monoxide than anyone should be comfy with. It was at this point that we also found out that our air conditioner and myself (37yrs old) had the same installation date on this earth. Weston is a solid dude; straightforward rundown of equipment options, clear and concise quote afterwards, walked us through the information in the brochure, was nice to our cats, and is a generally delightful human being. BUT WAIT THERE IS MORE. We got two other quotes from perfectly lovely companies, and then we decided to venture down the HVAC rabbit hole of the internet. Because we are the people we are, we ended up wanting to see FOUR DIFFERENT quotes with various payment and equipment configurations. Weston responded within 24hrs to each request with nothing but enthusiasm and encouragement. We decided to take the leap. Then Standard sent out the dynamo installation team of Jude and Eric AND THEY WERE ALSO DELIGHTFUL. Seriously, if you are someone who worries about people being in your house, these guys are the freaking salt of the earth and were respectful as hell to this overly chatty queer lady and her incredibly curious kittens. Then Standard's sale team was great in getting us paperwork filled out for the city rebate (they will do the utilities for you) AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST, because they quoted us for a new electrical thingy when a new electrically thingy wasn't needed, they sent us a $130 check in the mail after the fact. Standard is awesome, and we couldn't have appreciated how they helped us through this situation more.
