I love coming here this place is very clean and the staff is very friendly. The whole process take like and hour every visit and it always goes very smoothly. I spend 2 hours of my life scrolling Facebook and before I know it I'm done and I receive 70 dollars for my time. I feel good that I am helping and also getting rewarded to do so. It's a win-win! The phlebotomist that I had her name was Sydney and she was absolutely delightful. She made me feel comfortable and I didn't even realize the needle was in my arm she did it so well. unfortunately, I started at this location. They were and very But it was the closest to me so I continued to go. On my third visit I decided I will never be back there again. Still not as long of a wait. I had a very unexperienced technician. She bruised and damaged both of my arms. I've never had such an awful experience. They did not give me an ice pack until I asked for the third time. I had two more donations to give for the bonus and now I may not be able to go because my arms are so bad. read more

The frustrating thing is their tech messed up inserting the needle too far and don't bother calling them for guidance. Pretty much was told ice first couple days and a heating pad after. Shows me that if you get hurt you are on your own to deal with it. There have been good staff who have cared and were experianced but the mass turnover over the last few months says a lot. I would rate then zero. I have never had an issue and they always found my viens fine. I went back for 800 promotion. They let me get a return strait into my arm. Resulting in a huge hematoma. I went in to use my oposite arm and they said I cannot donate. No componsation nothing. Like I said I wanted to see nurse, doors were locked. Noone helped and I battled through donation. VERY understaffed. There will be 3 people checking vitals, once the line gets smaller, all but one will leave. Within a few moments 10 people will be waiting for vitals. Currently there are 3 people waiting for get into a chair and 6 people waiting for vitals. 4 people have walked in and have not even been greeted. My appointment was at 3:30, I have now been waiting for 15 min just to get my vitals taken. The staff never tell donors to place their feet flat on the floor when taking blood pressure. My experience at BioLife was terrible and raised serious health concerns. The staff did not wipe down the counters between patients after performing finger pricks, checking temperatures, and taking heart rates. This is extremely unsanitary in a setting where blood is being handled. When I brought this up to the manager, they completely brushed it off and told me it wasn't protocol to wipe the counters down between each person. As a nurse, I know how dangerous that is -- blood-to-blood contact or even someone with a small cut touching a contaminated surface and then their eye or mouth can lead to serious health issues. The lack of basic infection control and disregard for patient safety was shocking and unacceptable. read more

The staff was completely rude to me the moment I walked in. I had to use the bathroom before I did my questionaire and I thought everything was going to be okay. But I was wrong. Before they could do my finger prick, a nurse pulled me out and accused me of doing diarrhea when it was a regular number 2. She sabotaged my whole donation process because my heart rate was high the first time and then when I thought I was calm, the blood pressure was too high so I couldn't even donate. And I've donated at my home base multiple times. So, I went to tell my friend I was going to go to the car and the staff yelled at me for telling her that. This is the worst customer service I've ever received and I know I deserve a way better experience than what I was given. DO NOT GO TO THIS BIOLIFE CENTER! Wait times are getting better. Seems to be catching up on staff and those ladies work very hard and I say ladies cause it seems to be completely a female staff right now. There is one thing I would change if I could make a suggestion. After you're screened you get in line for a bed. Instead of handing out the color tags we should get numbers. Here's why. There have been numerous occasions where I'm given a bed and then wait up to and over 30 minutes to be put on the machine while someone who passed their screening 15 minutes after me has already started donating. I was visiting the state and needed to donate. Was reading reviews and was kinda skeptical but I worked out great for me! 1-3pm is the opportune time to go. Not much of a wait and was able to sit pretty quickly. I don't know if it was the machine or my blood, but it had to withdraw 8 different times. I can usually get it done with 4 draws and get 150-200ml per draw, but it took 80ml the first time and around 100-150 each time after. So it didn't take much longer than my normal donation time, but it was just odd. read more

This place has a lot of bad reviews but seems to come from entitled people. I been coming for a full month and never had one bad experience the wait time is typically 1-20 mins after questions then an hour long process shorter if hydrated. Definitely schedule 1.5-2.5 hrs just to have wiggle room for issues and to eat after before continuing on with said day. Staff is compassionate and works with you if you work with them entitlement will ruin your experience if you don't come in with an open mind staff is just doing there job and making sure you have a safe donation and don't pass out from issues they test for or smelling like weed from smoking previously before coming in. read more

At the nurses' counter, everyone was very friendly, until they passed me to a person in an office and he treated me like garbage. I felt discriminated against and I felt hatred on their part, even in their eyes. I am a healthy person, I have no vices and They didn't even allow me to donate. I got to that place, I spent my gas, my time and I left that place humiliated after that interview. They should choose their work staff better. It is extremely outrageous to come to the center, pay $45.00 for an Uber, with the requirements they request, including where it says that if the donor does not have social security, they can present their VISA. I came with a printed HUMANITARIAN visa that the United States government gave me. , the same that accredits me as legal and allows entry to this country, after waiting almost 40 minutes when they are going to do the blood test they tell me that they need the SSN or a Tourist Visa attached to the passport since they the Humanitarian VISA don't recognize it. It seems to me a lack of respect and ignorance on the part of this center and entity. Was donating here for a few months and then everything started to go downhill. In May, my heart rate was too high once, then I continued to get worked up, raising it more. Finally, a nurse told me I couldn't return until November, incorrectly. A few days later another nurse called and told me that was incorrect and I could come back after a protein check. I finally decided to go in for the check and two weeks later got a call saying my protein was great and I could come back in to donate. Just went in for a 5pm appointment to see that there were people packed into the place and at least four waiting for the nurse ahead of me! The manager's reply to my frustration was to come during the day because they have been busy and there was nothing he could do about the wait. DON'T OVER BOOK! Unless you have hours and hours of free time, don't donate to this center!!! read more

It took me five INDIVIDUAL visits before I actually got to donate. Ended up waiting 40 minutes before I was led to a chair. As the donation was finishing, the needle slipped out of my vein and it was very hard to find a staff member to help. It was a very painful experience and I was there for three hours. Then later on they falsely diagnosed me with a disease. I checked with my doctor and the test came back negative. So after diagnosing me wrong they've blocked me from donating ever again as well as at any other plasma facility. I offered to bring my negative test results or let them test me again, they were adamant that they couldn't do anything. I wouldn't recommend the hassle and stress. read more

I came in for my first donation on a Saturday. They were extremely busy and on the pager system for current donors. I was a new patient so I didn't need that. Yes the wait time was long, but the staff was extremely friendly, including both of the managers, that were on staff. I understand the wait time because of the promo that has been going on. You know they asked for a review after your first time, however, you get the red carpet treatment then. Your moved to the head of every line with no waiting, so you think wow this is great. Well its far from that. They schedule appointments at 5 minute intervals and do not have the staff to keep up with this pace. You wait in line forever, with no chairs, no water, nasty people. The people that screen you are not correctly trained, as a nurse, these ladies prick your finger on the side by your bone and that hurts more than actually giving plasma. Although I must say this last donation was horrible, the guy didn't do it correctly, my arm was numb the whole time and my hand was purple. This place gets slower and slower every week. I enjoy helping people out but this location makes it hard to because of the service here. Not all but most of the staff seems like it is a bother for them to be at work. Not all but a few of them are very rude. I mean with a line that is 8 people deep and at the time of the picture no one up front for the pre scan.... Then finally when they do have people working for the pre scan the have maybe 2 people when they have a long line. Maybe they should think about hiring more staff or scheduling more staff when they know that they get busy around the same time every week. Joliet has always been great and they checked the computer and it showed Miss Pricers(Bolingbrook) put a stop to it because my friend wore an ankle bracelet. As I said I went through the same process as him and was approved with my ankle bracelet and have been donating 7 times and when he didn't pass they automatically dropped me too costing me $135 and my ability to donate. I've been a donor for 3+ years and was recently permanently deferred due to a surgery I had 2 years ago. After the surgery I did not donate for 2 months, when I returned I had my annual physical and I do not recall the screening questions asking about surgery. I recently had my physical 2 years later and the nurse asked if I had a tummy tuck, she then responded I was supposed to be out for 4 months and I was only out 2 months. I had no knowledge of the time frame, I've been donating for 2 years after my surgery so how is this now an issue. She also mentioned I had an undisclosed tattoo, which is not true when I signed up I disclosed all of my tattoos, maybe the intake person didn't mark it but again I have been donating for 3+ years how is this an issue now. It seems like an error on their end, because every year they go over your tattoos and piercings so it could have been an honest mistake that someone didn't list it, so why is it ok for them to permanently defer me for a possible error on their end. I do not like how they accused me of not disclosing my surgery and a tattoo that I proved to them was 10 yrs old. I am not satisfied with the treatment I received from this company. Very frustrating process. I have A.D.D. and occasionally misanswer a predonation question. That kicks me out and sends me to a nurse, which is ALWAYS a very long wait. I usually can't spend the extra time explaining to a nurse, after a very long wait and just have to leave. This happens over and over. They have great answers for why their donation process is so arduous and frustrating, but hello, your process is hard on people. read more
