You ask what could improve? Try everything. They screen people who are in good health, but easily accept people who are homeless and otherwise down and out. The facilities seem unacceptable, from an aseptic point of view. I would not only be afraid to donate at this center, but also afraid to accept plasma that had been donated there. They ask questions such as how many different sex partners have you had in the last... period of time, and so on. The only sex I've ever had is with my husband, but I'm screened because I have diabetes and high blood pressure, and I need approval from my doctor. Beware of BIOLIFE ;-( Appears they think they're better than any other plasma collection company. BioLife can go FUCK OFF! BioLife - Needs to seriously educate their staff! I was checking out BioLife on May 14th, told has to be 7 days from last visit to CLS was May 11th, told to return on May 18th. Spent 3+ hours becoming a new member at BioLife, after the full exam, getting drained and told to return on Wednesday 20th as that would be 2nd in 7 days. I return to BioLife on 20th, told I'm still popping up in system at CLS, so return on 22nd today. Now, told that because I have popped up 2 times as another center, I'm band from BioLife for every!!! That's there rules, not anyone else's rules. So I have only gave plasma once in 7 days (Monday to Monday is 6 days) but, because I checked in on 20th and the 14th (gave nothing, no blood test or plasma), just checked IN, I CAN'T go to BioLife Plasma every again! I've been donating for 2 years at a competitor and decided to try BioLife to see if it was better. BioLife's phlebotomists seem less trained than the other place because they struggled to find my vein every-other visit, even though that had never been an issue before. On my 10th visit, they placed the needle in far too deep and when the blood was returned to my arm, it wasn't going into the vein, just into my arm tissue, so the skin quickly expanded into a huge egg-shaped balloon that stung more than I ever expected that would. Now I'm dealing with the biggest bruise of my life that looks like I play roller derby. read more

PILAR NEEDS TO BE FIRED IMMEDIATELY! I am writing to report an incident that occurred on December 10th, 2025 at the Duluth Pleasant Hill BioLife Plasma Center. I am a regular donor and rarely have issues, but this experience was unacceptable and dangerous. The staff member involved was Pilar (a heavy-set Hispanic woman who I was told is a manager). She was extremely rude and showed clear negligence during my donation. After my return cycle ended, she avoided wrapping my arm. When she finally did, she wrapped it only once, and I could visibly see the cotton pad through the bandage. Within seconds, the pad was fully soaked and I was actively bleeding. She did not offer assistance or check on me at all. I had to urgently approach another staff member--who wasn't even on the floor--to get help. Pilar also witnessed me needing assistance and did not acknowledge or ask what the issue was. This was a serious safety issue and a liability risk. No donor should be left bleeding or ignored in this manner, especially by someone in a managerial position. read more

Sometimes, the line can be long for the wait. Average service time per donation can vary from 2hrs - 4hrs. The staff here can be friendly. Photos and videos are not allowed in the facility. But, that doesn't stop people from posting them regardless. Each donation amount varies from 699ml - 899ml per session. This place gave creeping vibe like a correction facility or something . Dirty floors and barrooms, absolutely rude inattentive staff, bloody packaging all over trashcans. Came the first time, went through physical where nurse who barely speak English didn't bother to say Hi or thank you, or please, nor anyone else there. I feel like I awe them money or something that I'm treated like that. I've been donating for roughly 2 months and have had an average-great experience every time. This site is typically always busy but the check-in experience is quick every time past your initial visit. Quality care is offered every time. The technicians are personable and keep donors rotating through their sections quickly. Overall, positive experience, which is why I keep coming back. Expect to spend an hour in the building on average. I'm not one who bruises easily so all I have to show for my money are 2 little scars from the needle. read more

Horrible Management! The manager needs to be replaced YESTERDAY by someone more experienced and then the young woman in charge on April 4,2025. This inexperienced PERSON needs significantly more support and supervision from corporate or upper management. The scheduling grid needs to be analyzed, and revamped because they are allowing much too many appointment slots causing at times two hour waits. What upset me to the point of writing this on April 4, and caused me to quit, was I had a 7:45 am apt. I arrived at 7:52. I never cut this close. There is a 10 minute window. There were approximately 6 stations to check in by fingerprint, but only 3 chairs. I just had to medically retire from Nursing Management (early) because of terrible back and neck problems. Since I joined BioLife in December 2024, my fingerprint is rarely read without several attempts and I need assistance. By the time it read my print, as I was leaning over the desk because the manager did not have chairs at the stations it was 7:46. I told her it would not read my print, and that I had arrived on time. There were only 7-8 people in line. She told me I needed to reschedule. I argued with her it was her equipment malfunction, not my error, and that I had 4 other appointments that day. She stated she would give me $20 on my card for the inconvenience to reschedule at 9:15 , but at 9:15 there were at least 30 people in line ( I had NEVER SEEN IT THAT LONG) I told her I had two other appointments I needed to get to right away. She stated she would still add the $20 to my account . I thanked her. I apologized for getting upset.I went to my car, but came back to clarify if she was doing sending the $20 now , she had taken down my name and SS# and she said yes. Well, She Never sent the $20 the entire day. In fact she never sent it. I called support and spoke with supervisors 4 times, they told me they reached out to her by email , and she never responded to them or to to me with a call . This center is run horribly! The employees are kind and overworked . This female manager has no business being a manager. Speaking as a Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager , Operating Room Nurse over 35 years, she sheds a very bad reputation on this company. I will NEVER RECOMMEND BIOLIFE PLASMA , for the poor treatment of patients, lack of follow through, and bold face lying to patients. Figure out your scheduling and stop torturing patients. As for the inexperienced clinical manager, you should be ashamed whatever your name is Madame! We don't treat patients like this in healthcare. read more

First, it's difficult to sign in because getting a fingerprint to show up on their little device is a fool's errand and I always need management assistance so that takes a long time. Second, and the biggest problem, on one of their new donor specials where I could earn up to $400 if I donate four times in a month, on my third appointment I was told that my blood had an issue and I needed it sampled and tested before I could donate again. I did this and a week later I was phoned by what sounded like one of their male nurses, but he didn't leave a name. He just said to call back. Well, I have called and called and I can't get any nurses on the line. The person that answers the phone appears to be at a call center and possibly not even at that location and said the only way to find out is to go over there. I live 45 minutes away and this is not convenient! So I tried to set up another appointment and every date I put in says that I am ineligible but nothing on the website or the app explains why and there's no way to send a message to the location on either the website or the app. I'd be giving whole blood to the Red Cross if I didn't need this kind of money. And I can't afford to waste gas and time driving over there to find out what's wrong with my blood. The doctor or nurse or whoever takes you into those private rooms is so non-communicative for the first physical as well as this little issue. And the problem is I only earned $200 of the 400 I desperately need. And since it won't let me schedule an appointment within the one week I have left, I'm out of the money. Maybe they do this to keep from having to pay out: give you two appointments and then claim something is wrong figuring they'll get other people. Or maybe something seriously is wrong with me like blood cancer!!! But who knows since I can't get anybody on the phone to tell me what the problem is. As speaking of those physicals, it's always a black man doing it and they close the door. I'm sorry, but as a female, I don't want to be in a closed room with a man I don't know. When I googled these up online, it said BioLife was the one that gets you in and out the quickest ... I find that very hard to believe. My experiences have been that every time I've gone it has taken a horrendous amount of time for their machine to capture a finger or thumbprint, then to get anybody to assist me. The phlebotomist who are taking the plasma, do not have a car in the world and often hook you up and go back to some room probably to take a break. I just think the whole experience is frustrating. I appreciate the payment, but they've taken me out of the money and I don't know why. I think I'll have to call one of their competitors and make a little money from them. I went to the BioLife center in Duluth this morning, my first ever visit and my first time donating blood/plasma ever, after having confirmed an appointment by email on their website. I walked up to the counter and was told to sit in the waiting area. After about 45 minutes, I went to the counter again after noticing that people seemed to be getting in to their appointments ahead of me even though they came in after me. I was told I would need to come back because there were no spaces available for me. I said I had an appointment confirmed by email. I believe I was speaking to one of the managers at this point, and she asked me what had happened. I explained, and after waiting a little longer, she had me come over to begin the "onboarding" process, so to speak. At this point, I'm not happy, but I'm trying to keep a positive attitude. I thought everything would be fine from here on out. Next, I had to go to the computer screen to answer questions. No big deal--until a young man (a customer, who had come in with 2 other young men) decided to sit down at the computer next to me and complain out loud, in a way so that only I would hear him--not the employees behind the desk. I ignored him because I was focused on reading the rather substantial survey on my own computer screen. Plus, I figured he could use any of the other 3 or 4 computers that were not in use, or go get an employee to help him. Next thing I know, the young man was standing right behind me as I was filling out personal information on my computer. Then he came and sat down next to me again on the computer that wasn't working and he complained out loud again so that only I could hear him. Now I was really feeling uncomfortable! I couldn't leave my screen to go get help because I had all mu personal information up, so I continued as calmly as possible. When I finished my survey, I went back to the waiting room as instructed. Next thing I know, the young man sat directly across from me when there were several other empty chairs to choose from. Normally, this wouldn't be a big deal, but after he tried to strike up a conversation with me a couple times at the computer and had stood right behind me when I was on my computer, I was way beyond uncomfortable to say the least. That's when I went to the front desk to ask one of the girls behind the counter if it would be ok if I went out to my car. One of them finally came up and said it would be ok. As I was pushing the door open, I sensed something behind me, so I turned around, and it was her! She was literally right behind me, like 2 millimeters behind me! I gasped and told her she scared me. Looking back, I'm realizing she probably did this to me on purpose. There was no reason to follow so closely behind me. I didn't appreciate the intimidating and unprofessional atmosphere at the Duluth center. And, I believe it is a center not just for collecting plasma, but for testing people for drugs and/or HIV. My appointment was at 2PM. It's 4:31 PM and I haven't even been for the physical yet. I'd say allow not 3 hours out of your day but 3-6 hours is how long it looks like I may be here. I'm tempted to leave, but I've made it this far. Snellville location seems much faster and more organized. I've been there twice now. Just have ran into issues preventing me from donating, and Duluth is closer to me and that is why I ended up here today. Also ate around 1PM, but by the time I get to donate, the 'eat within 3 hours' recommendation will be passed. read more

I donate several times . I observed that the people changed a lot... like in 1 month 2-3 new people. After a summer vacation of 2 months when I came back I recognized just 1 people. Now the people who do the needle are not very trained. So every single time I got my veins hurt. I donate for the good not for the money ....so I wish could be a way where you can have a good train people who knows how to make the stick needle. read more

I have been donating at Biolife Duluth for awhile, there were times when the lines are extremely long and some staff aren't pleasant but there's this one guy named Ken that no matter the case he's always extremely pleasant. Ken is very professional, friendly, has great customer service skills and takes great care of the donors. Biolife Duluth needs more staff members like Ken. read more

I donated plasma at my local Biolife for one month. Once someone completes the first month the payments go from over $100 per donation to $30 or $40 and unfortunately my location is severely understaffed and donations take a minimum of 2-3 hours. I just can't spend 3 hours or more for $30 to $40. read more

First off I'd like to say miss kacey doing my physical was wonderful, she even tried to help me get a vein test so I didn't waste my time. Anyways. . It was a full on waste of time. I was there 2and a half hours as a new patient ( I understand there's a lengthy registration process) , after all that there WAS ONLY ONE PERSON CERTIFIED TO PUT THE NEEDLE IN WHO WAS INCAPABLE OF DOING HER JOB . I have a tattoo that covers my right Antecubital space and I understand they cannnot stick there. HOWEVER, when I walk in as a new patient and the staff notices that SOMEONE SHOULD DO A VEIN TEST (which I asked for in the beginning) RATHER THEN TELLING ME THEYRE TO BUSY AND I SHOULD JUST CONTINUE WITH THE PHYSICAL AND HOPE FOR THE BEST. Also maybe include on your website that if you have tattoos in that area that the patient may be ineligible if two veins cannot be found on the one arm. And the girl that stuck me tried 1 time and gave up. She said she found 2 in my left ?? So why didn't she try the other vein. ?? Your facility should really make sure your staff are fully trained and capable of doing their job. And if the front desk check in girl see a new patient signing in and sees a full half sleeve tattoo on a patient to do a vein test prior to wasting peoples time. read more

this place is usually on point other then very long wait times. today 10/28/23 I had to have my vitals twice because the first time the new worker broke the vile. Then a second time they said they were having technical difficulties so they would try and have me compensated and I needed to have a seat. Someone else comes and does something on a different computer and didn't have a password. Just to be placed in line with 6 people that had been waiting to be seated that were there when I arrived to my scheduled appointment which was at 11:30.
