The first six times donating plasma it was a fairly simple process. Of course you have to fill out the annoying questionnaire but that is understandable. Once finished with the questionnaire you have to wait again to get blood draw, weighed, temperature, blood pressure, etc. then wait again... for a card, to go into the 3 different colored sections. The first 6 plasma draws went well. The last 2 plasma draws were a disaster. I have a huge bruise from two weeks ago. Thursday, the phlebotomist wasn't able to get a blood draw. I've always been told that I have really good veins. Thursday, the phlebotomist tried to change the needle into my other arm but I had the card which said only the left arm. Then she tried telling me that she noticed my veins didn't look good. This was a total lie as I've never had a problem with getting blood draws or plasma before. And I saw the nurse prior to being seated in her area. read more

I think they're just extremely busy so after two hours I was told I couldn't donate. I suppose they learn of issues as they proceed with blood test, questionnaire, physical, etc. that might disqualify someone but it seems it shouldn't have to take two hours to find that out. Maybe it can't be helped. I received cadaver bone in a tooth socket to prepare for an implant so I have to wait a year before attempting to give plasma again. After reading all the horrible reviews I'm not sure I'll come back. They have tons of customers and more pouring in constantly. I guess everyone needs $$ in this economy. read more

Ended up wasting 2 hours of my time, gas, leaving my job early, only to be accused of A: not disclosing a medication I might have taken 7 years ago when I last donated (Prozac ) B: being anxious about the procedure C: not knowing the EXACT date I restarted said med. D: lying, when I said jan 10 as a date of restarting it. then to be told I couldn't donate because of instability on said med. I have concerns of delayed check in at front desk (15 minutes) then another 10 to fix a name issue which could have been fixed during the first waiting period; delayed nurse visit with taking a person who arrived after me due to their shorter green card; nurse not having a manager come and talk to me to facilitate better communication, offer professional courtesy and find better rapport and clear up such a "perceived serious" issue; then delay my time even further by making unnnecesary small talk with another patron who had spilled his little goldfish package because she was delaying telling me that I wouldn't be able to donate. The disregard for customer's time, intent and causing mental anguish for a product that is much needed by not giving professional mutual respect to basically a non issue medication when so many others just lie about their lifestyle is concerning. I understand policies and procedures but this was basically a non-issue which was made out to be almost criminal. People (patrons) have busy lives and are anxious for one reason or another and to misjudge and talk down to them over such a minor thing is ridiculous. read more

Never again. The nurses were slow. A process that has taken 1 hour ended up taking 2 hours. I can expect it if they were busy. But the nurses disappeared. I ended up waiting 45 minutes for the nurse to return and stare vacantly at the machine. Picture the nurses from "Idiocrocy". That's what you'll get. read more

if I could, I would rate it zero stars. i wasted 2 hours of my time and gas, they did NOT let me donate because i went to jail for a book and release and had to get a flu shot and "they didn't know the exact name of the shot" almost 3 months prior to me donating. the second time i went they fished around in my veins which was extremely painful, and made my blood squirt a little bit. everyone in the place just seems extremely lazy the whole time i was waiting all the workers were complaining and saying they need to go on break, which is understandable but leaving a donater to go on break is absurd and extremely unprofessional! read more

I would give a zero star review if possible. First off the phlebotomist fished around in my vein to get a return of blood which is highly contraindicated when inserting needles/IV's. Secondly because of her fishing for my vein I shortly had a hematoma develop within 5 minutes of donating plasma. FYI I also have very visible veins and they are palpable so she should have never fished around in my veins. She should never fish in anyone's veins no matter what. read more

This place is a joke!! I made an account to donate, made my appointment, read through all qualifying factors for being a donor PRIOR to showing up and or making an appointment at this location in Vancouver WA. On the policy about tattoos, states if you have had a tattoo in the last 12 months, please provide the date and location of the tattoo shop. That it!!! So I drove 40 minutes from my house to BioLife, spent an hour checking in, and once they get to my right arm (after clearing my left arm-) the lady tells me "you are disqualified from Donating since you have shading of your tattoo that is on your A/C (the inner part of your arm where you draw blood etc) I said "why was that not mentioned in ALL of the qualifying factors on the website, the emails you sent me?" She said "because then people wouldn't show up" Why would someone show up TO DONATE PLASMA, IF THEY CANT DONATE PLASMA? I hope this review helps someone NOT waste there time or gas money! read more

I have been a donor for over 6 months and have found BioLife to be a first class outfit. The office is clean and very well kept. The intake is very simple and pridictable and the staff is friendly, clean and quite professional. i have never had to wait more than 10 minutes. i have had only had one bad experience in 45 donations. the agreed payment is in the account after the donation is completed, before i get to the car. it's great walk around money and after expenses it's about $35.00 per hour. i am usually done before i go to work plus i get to read my emails and the WSJ. i have no idea what all the people on the right are talking about. If I can give a negative review I would. Go anywhere else. DO NOT GO TO BIOLIFE! Sooo many issues it would take me an hour to fully write it all down. They do not pay you what they promise. You will be waiting over 3 hours to make around $20. I know so many people that experience the same thing. They didn't pay me what I was supposed to be paid. I emailed them and talked to the manager TROY VANCE and he basically said there is nothing they can do. I've had other people tell me that they didn't even get paid at all for their donation. They take so long i could go to work for 4-5 hrs and make $100 but if i come here WITH A PROMOTION its $100 but then im here for hours. I stopped going to BioLife a year or two ago, I went often to the American fork location but just like everyone else it seems even from other locations!!! I finally had enough with the poor management. I wasn't going to stand in 2-3 hour lines just to start my donation. It's absolutely ridiculous. How anybody still donates here is a mystery to me. I started donating at griffols down in Orem. I walk in and maybe 5-10 minutes I'm sitting down and the people are pretty quick. BioLife may pay a bit more but dudes it's 1000% not worth 2 more hours time for an extra $5-$10. I usually don't leave bad reviews but honestly this company can go burn in hell for all I care. Though the staff may be nice, waiting in an endless line while workers slowly walk from person to person, is more than annoying. They shouldn't allow for so many appointments if the staff can't handle the amount of people. It's not worth the money if you stand in line for 2 hours before being sat down and then have to wait another 45 minutes to be connected. It's a very poorly run center and I've donated in many places and different states. This has got to be the most poorly run location I have ever been to. They have you make an appointment for who knows what reason. I had an appointment for 3:15 I waited over 2 hours before I finally just left. While I waited for my physical you could hear the nurses in one office visiting and laughing. When they finally came out they told me and the FIVE other people waiting that another nurse would be coming in in 15 minutes. They then preceded to stand there and talk some more. I paid a babysitter and ended up leaving after 2 hours without donating. This place does not value their donors. I will never go back. read more

If you want to have your social security number compromised, experience the worst new donor check-in, navigate conversations with supervisors and staff who aren't educated or well-versed in their job descriptions, I recommend BioLife. If you want to retain your identity by not having your social security left face up on the front desk and walked-away from TWICE, not be told no less than 5 times in 8 minutes that the check-in woman is off shift in 5 minutes, and not have a supervisor tell their staff that an issue with their registration process is an "IT issue" before simply walking away, then avoid BioLife like the plague. Having worked in FDA regulated organizations, this place needs a major audit due to their frightening lack of accountability. This review is for the Riverton, Utah location. read more

The employees are super helpful and are a joy to be around. It is obvious that safety is their top priority. The wait times here have gotten way better over the last few months. They hate answering the phone!!! On multiple occasions I've sat down and called over and over for 30 minutes straight just to not get an answer. I've even had them pick up the phone just to immediately end the phone call for some reason. This wouldn't be as big of an issue if they could just hold phone calls. I'd rather be stuck on hold waiting for someone to pick up than to have to redial over and over! Simple fix! Some phlebs there are great at their craft and can make a quick and painless stick, but others sit there fishing around in your vein and it's extremely painful! You're rolling the dice that you're gonna get injured and get bruises on your veins everytime you walk in. Wait times here are also ridiculous compared to other donation centers and at times it seems understaffed. None of these problems seem to be getting fixed because I see reviews here that are years old and they haven't seemed to be able to fix the same problems they've always had. I doubt that management is reading these reviews. I highly recommend donating at Grifols plasma I've never had a problem when going there. read more

Honestly the staff here is really great, there's just not enough of them. I've never had a bad poke and they're usually pretty quick. I would ask anyone reading this to be patient with them- most of these kids are biology majors going to school full time as well as trying to work at this center. That being said the wait times have just been out of control. When I first started going it was like an hour or maybe 1.5 total, but now I wait for an hour before I even get a bed. Everyone is having staffing issues and the plasma centers are not immune from that, but I have to go somewhere else. I wish they could like accept less appointments or something so we don't have to spend our whole afternoon waiting in line. Staff is terrible. They screw up on the needle stick and then you get deferred for 8 weeks because of their screw up. Takes at least an hour to get through screening and bed wait until you get a bed, then another hour to donate. They drop the rates frequently and if you can't make it twice in a week you don't get the full payment. Rip off on what you get paid. read more

I ve been here a total of 6 times, I ve donated 6 times. Each time I have donated they don't change their gloves between people. The last time I donated Monday April 4th 2022 they had tried to return my blood and ended up giving me a hematoma as well I have a gigantic bruise that covers my whole bicep and all around my arm The plabatomest that I had was nice but paid little to no attention to what was going on. I had a puddle of blood coming out of my arm before she switched my my other arm. Little to say I will not be going back. I watched her get my blood on her gloves go to another person put their needle in their arm and come back to me with the same gloves..... Little to say saftey is no concern. read more

BIOLIFE IS A SCAM!!! DO NOT TRUST THEM!!! THEY WILL SCAM AND TRICK YOU. Myself and my partner recently received a promotion from BioLife; new donors make four donations and earn $500. So we noticed that the promotion was sent to us only two weeks before its printed expiring date so we tried to book immediately. Unfortunately we were told that the earliest could book was three weeks out, and we called every of there locations in the Utah area, and finally we got one location, however the furthest 65 miles away, but that they could take us the day after the promotion was to expire, but they promised and insured us that we could just bring the received promotion and they would honor it! We arrived and we began the process to enroll. We asked several times during this 2 hour about the promotion, advertised referral fee and payment etc. but it was never that person we addressed that could answer our questions. Finally after approx two hours, before ready to give our first donation we wanted an answer on our questions and finally a supervisor showed up and told us that this promotion ended yesterday!!! And to top it off, the enrollment nurse would not enter the referral from my partner to receive that extra $100 reward! But she did inform us they know had stated another promotion that turned out to be 8 donations (in 30 days) for $800. But restrictions applied. You would be paid a reduced rate in the beginning and the bulk would be on the last donations; but all 8 had to be done in 30 days and you can only do 2 donations in a 7 day period. Add to that that you can't get scheduled at any of their locations in time to even fulfill their requirements! Bottom line, you get scammed!!! Needless to say they are playing a game on people... shameful and untrustworthy! read more

Over the last few months, there has been an increase in wait time for donating, even though you are required to make an appointment. As always, I showed up 5 minutes early for my appointment but upon entering the building I saw at least 20 people already waiting in the queue ahead of me. My best guess is that it would take at least 30 minutes to just get processed through the line and begin the donation process. I value my time and they should too. This is terrible customer service and this company needs to figure out a solution since it's been going on for awhile now. read more

Not only did I arrive early for my appointment 1:25 pm that was supposed to begin at 1:30, but this place is a cesspool among a pandemic. Zero social distancing, no one wearing masks just face protectors. I was told after being ignored for 7 minutes that my appointment was at 1:15 pm, which you can only be ten minutes late for, so technically I arrived on time. Julia was unempathetic and ignored me as she greeted 4 other people. And the lady next to her greeted one other. Me, ignored. I told them "that's fine" and left. WASTE OF TIME!!! I went to donate plasma five times in a row and got deferred for minor things which shouldn't have made a difference. I coughed once, and they told me I had congestion. One nurse told me I had bad veins, and 3 mins later, the other nurse told me I had great veins. I spoke with Britany, the manager, and she assured me if I came back yet another time that things would be different. However, I am disappointed yet again. They told me I had high blood pressure and I've never been told that in my entire life. The nurses are incompetent and Britany straight up lied to my face about giving me compensation for my 5 drives out there to try to donate and today she told me that she doesn't have the authority to reimburse me... What A JOKE!!! I recommend spending your time elsewhere. You'll spend at least three hours here before you get a chance to get a seat to donate. If that even ends up happening for you. On my way to my appointment I read the reviews on here, and I'm not going to lie I almost canceled. However I went in and while the appointment took a long time, (it was my first time donating) everyone was very informative and friendly. Also, the online website does warn that the first appointment will take longer. I was impressed by the cleanliness, and efficiency. So while the other reviews may have been true for those people, I can only say that was not my experience. Maybe they were doing things differently at that time, and realized they needed to make changes. This was the highest paying donation center I found, so if you're considering donating, try them out. It took me 50 minutes from entry to screening. Then once in line to get a bed it took 50 minutes before I left. There were too many people ahead of me and no where near enough beds up and running. The majority of the staff here are amazing and put on a good face and offer good customer service. But they're set up by having too few employees in conjunction with too many appointments. I would not recommend anyone coming in unless you have 2+ hours for a donation. 25 people in the bed wait line, 18 people in the initial screening line and 3 sections open 15 beds basically. I don't blame the staff they are what they are can't work people who aren't there but the person I charge of the setting this many appointments is the real issue and is completely out of touch with what is reasonable for the donors and the staff. 0 stars for them would not recommend. read more

Really wish I had read on yelp before making an appointment here. I did not realize that it would be a several hour occasion to donate but also wound up getting turned away because of some testing issues from my previous donation center that BioLife had failed to inform me of. so now I'm out my time and travel money because of their negligence. Also, BioLife in general seems to staff with people that are just barely learning how to use these machines and all of the items involved; on my first visit, I felt that I was way more knowledgeable about the processes And chemistry behind what was happening then my attendance. Also as a whole, it just seems a little sad at how much they're just pushing for profit rather than helping people. I have been a long time donor with the Red Cross, but decided to try out BioLife to try and make a little bit of extra moneyfor some family cost, but after all the issues with this, I feel like I will most likely just go back to donating to people that are actually helping others rather than BioLife, which is pretty overly a bottom line business. read more
